We stopped in and had an early light dinner before heading downtown. The hostess was wearing traditional Japanese clothing and greeted us warmly. We sat in the window to feel the warm breeze and watch the people and traffic going by.
The food was really good. The takoyaki was good, but I've had some with more flavor in Seattle and Tokyo. The dragon roll (tempura shrimp) was excellent - great flavor with lots of avocado, and a really nice large portion size. The veggie roll combination was good, but my wife said that the rice was a bit dry.
Overall this was a nice experience. I'd recommend Matcha Komachi if you're in Josefstadt and want some good Japanese food. It's on the tram 2 line, near the Albertgasse stop. read more
