At first, I wasn't too impressed with the appetizer that I had, which was the shrimp spring rolls with a small side salad. The spring rolls were good, but they should at least separate the salad in a different bowl, because the dressing gets on the rolls and making them soggy instead of hot and crispy as they should be served. This was a big turn-off for me.
However, the crispy duck ramen noodle soup was excellent. It was served very hot, as soup should be served, and it was also spicy as well. It reminded me of the saimin bowls in Honolulu because of the type of noodles used. I liked that the noodles retained their texture, and the broth was spicy and rich in flavor. One of the best bowls of ramen soup I have ever had, I must say.
I still have to give this place only three stars, though. Not that it's because it's a bad place, but there were a couple of little things that were disappointing. One, as mentioned above, were the spring rolls. Second, at the very least, I really wish they would have at least left me a couple of extra napkins at the table, which I asked for, but initially was only given one. I'm eating spicy hot soup, and it can get messy, and they should know this. The service at the restaurant itself was average but nothing out of the ordinary.
I haven't tried the sushi yet. I'm sure it's alright, though. read more
