My friends and I visited here for a part of my birthday celebration as we have talked about this…read moreplace before so I wanted to at least give it a shot. Overall the food was okay, and I intentionally avoided most dishes under the fuertes section not only because they were pricey but also because I wanted to see how much care they put into dishes that customers probably relatively order less, so I ordered quite a few dishes under the para la mesa section. In terms of highlight, the best dish in my opinion was actually the pistachio tres leches. The milk was definitely there, and there was a good amount of pistachio flavor immersed into the cake. I thought that texturally it worked very well, too, because the softness of the cake provided a good contrast with the pistachio bits on the top. The esquites were great as well, with the tajin crema providing both a sense of creaminess and just a tiny bit of spice, and the manchego cheese giving flavor. The baja fish tacos contained a good amount of white fish and the chipotle crema added flavor. Personally I liked the fact that the brisket tacos had a good amount of smoked brisket meat, but my friend who ordered the dish didn't enjoy it because she didn't think the salsa was flavorful enough, which I could understand but disagreed with. Other dishes were leaning towards okay to meh, such as the papas machas, which had fried yukon potatoes containing very good crispy texture but way too salty flavor, especially if the potatoes were tiny and had a lot of oil at the bottom. The brussel sprouts did not have enough lime vinaigrette so it was practically flavorless, especially since it was probably deep fried without additional seasoning, which also caused some pieces to be hard to chew. The grilled snapper itself was almost flavorless, and relied on the salsa for flavor completely. I didn't understand it because it looked like it was grilled in achiote, so I assumed it followed the tikin xic dish in Yucatán Mexico, with pickled red onions and all. Maybe the achiote paste didn't have enough spices in it for marinading, or maybe the time wasn't enough. Even though as of now I wouldn't actively recommend this establishment to others yet, I would still like to visit myself to try some dishes that my other friends have hyped up, namely the enchiladas de camote and verdes.

Luckily we got there in time and I got a Chilango margarita and some nachos. The margarita was DELICIOUS, not too sour but flavorful. The nachos were pretty good: the toppings were well distributed and lots of flavor but I didn't love the combo of beans and sour cream, but I guess both are authentic to Mexico. We sat in the patio and enjoyed the beautiful lake view as we caught up, which was great, and I plan to come back! Pro tip: they validate parking! Turn on Thomas and pull into the beach club underground parking and bring your parking ticket to the restaurant for validation.

Both were good, I would definitely recommend the carne asada. We also got chips and guac. The guacamole had a strong lime taste and was so unbelievably delicious, I would go back just for the guac. There is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant and a ton of street parking. The staff were very nice and helpful. We ordered at the kiosk and they brought our food to our table. It looked like the bartender also waits on the tables in the back. There's a section of the restaurant that's a bit loud, but we easily found a spot to sit in a quieter area.

It's a bit whitewashed and leans more Cal-Mex than anything you'd find in Mexico, but I'm not complaining. I love a good California burrito and asada fries, so this style has its place (especially in Minnesota). Service can be slow. It took us about an hour to get two burritos yesterday and the restaurant didn't look busy. Maybe they were just short staffed. My main issue is the salsa. They limit you to one packet per person, and it's not the slightest bit spicy. And where are the limes? This place desperately needs a salsa bar with real options and some heat. Bump up the salsa selection and stop rationing it, and this would be a solid spot. For now, I'll keep getting this to go and buying my own salsa and limes.

I opted for a quesadilla which was very good and huge and then we got a table guacamole to share. They had a decent happy hour deal. Their chicken tinga taco bowl is pretty darn good but the pizza is meh. Today I came and had a glass of Sauvignon blanc and a small house salad with dressing on the side. The wine was lukewarm which, first world problems right? But if I'm paying $9 for a glass of white wine, come on bro serve it chilled. The dressing came on the side but they omitted the croutons and roasted pecans for some unknown reason and there was a small black hair at the very bottom. Plus you have to serve yourself water, no one checks on you, you submit your order via an app (not a problem I just don't see expecting a twenty percent tip for near non service despite society moving that way) and no one asks, hey is your salad shittier than expected? They don't care. Lol. Patio is cute though.

The "basket" had silverware, napkins, menu and the QR code for ordering. The server explained that we got our own water and could order inside or through the QR. That is always a little annoying to me (Karen!) but the water was full, the food came out quickly, and they checked on us and cleared the plates in a reasonable manner. Food: I order steak salads as my go too and sometimes the steak is tough: not this steak! It was as smooth as butter! Delicious. I am updating the review because Pajarito delivered the experience I knew they would and exceeded expectations. Not to mention, the host was quick to say "congrats" (I had let them know of the occasion ahead of time). As well, they were happy to reserve an ideal seat of choice for us with advanced notice. Overall, such a great dinner and great service, which is what I was hoping for for this once-in-a-lifetime milestone celebration. Pajarito delivered. Thanks!

We arrived at about 5:00 and had our pick of tables. The patio is spacious and offers a nice breeze. We admired the planters that feature lovely bee-friendly flowers, colorful foliage, and even jalapeño plants. Our server, Alex, was awesome... cheerful, friendly, and knowledgeable, she really made for a great experience. We started off with the avocado appetizer. Imagine a deconstructed guacamole--it has avocado, red onion, cilantro, and tomatoes--set off with the tastiest citron oil you've ever had and scoops of a savory charred tomato salsa. Fresh, crunchy tortilla chips are the perfect way to scoop. I went with pasta for my main and chose the very intriguing espinaca, which comes with a spinach-asparagus sauce. It was super creative! The combination is very fresh, bright, and smooth. In addition to additional asparagus, other veggies included red peppers and sun dried tomatoes. Pine nuts and feta round out the dish. It's basically pesto's quirky but cool sister. We had two desserts, both of which were delicious. The cheesecake was lovely--the fruit was tangy and bright and set off the creamy cheese and slightly sweet pistachios perfectly. The tres leches cake was also really tasty. It's a little bit different from some other tres leches that I have had--it has a slightly sturdier crumb, so even though it came with a generous pour of the sweet milk sauce, it retained its texture. The sweet and tart fresh strawberries were the perfect accompaniment. All in all am awesome find!

While Ena doesn't have a scene or even a bar, the food at this family-owned establishment is fantastic, and I have eaten a lot of Latin American cuisine. Originating from Mexico, the French-trained owner/chef prepares Latin fusion dishes with flavors that burst alive. With a delicate yet crisp crust, the Birria Empanadas are amazingly flavorful, and the meat's juices have a wonderfully piquant taste. They're the best empanadas I've ever tasted. The Bife de Chorizo was gigantic, but even better, the flavors tickled our fancy, the Chimichurri sauce providing the ideal punch. My Anticuchos were good, but as always, my wife ordered better, because the Bife de Chorizo was the star of the night. Service was led by the chef's charming daughter, who enhanced our meal with her knowledge and great sense of humor. Ena serves beer, wine, and cocktails; however, I would build a bar in the expansive space. Yet, what do I know, I was the sad owner of three restaurants that closed. Ena provided us with one of our best meals of 2026.
