Yum! This is some tasty food. Especially good for a night on which we didn't know what to get. There were a lot of varieties of flavors of what is essentially a crunch wrap. We tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch and the OG. Both are delicious. And the fries were quite good too. The place itself is tiny. Just a few seats. So it's more of a take out kind of place. Ordering is done at a large screen. The also have some nice seating on the sidewalk just outside. I'm really happy to have this place in the neighborhood.

Came here because it was a place open late for food. My friend and I split the OG pocket which is like a quesadilla filled with ground beef, queso, tomato, lettuce, and cheese. The meal was good but it definitely needed some more salt. I typically cook low sodium at home so this didnt bother me. Do not skip out on the fries!!!! They are super crispy with an AMAZING seasoning. We dipped it in a side of ranch that was a great combination. I'd definitely come back here again. The interior is decorated well with eclectic pictures and a wall of phones from different eras. I chuckled thinking to myself how a lot of kids may not know what a corded phone looks like. Its a small space but fun.

Hippo Pockets - Minneapolis This place is a unassuming hotspot in south Minneapolis! The food? Absolutely crave-worthy. I tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch Hippo Pocket and the Gyro with tzatziki--both were bursting with flavor and wrapped in perfectly crispy tortillas. You can tell they put real thought into their fillings and sauces. The atmosphere at Hippo Pockets is effortlessly upbeat and inviting. There's a cozy little patio that's perfect for soaking up sunshine with a cold drink in hand, and the whole place radiates that laid-back charm that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. One quirky highlight? The phone tribute wall. It's a nostalgic masterpiece--and I'm slightly ashamed (but mostly proud) to say I've used more than half of the models on display. Now, the only hiccup: the space is a bit tight, especially during peak hours. And the ordering system could use a little streamlining--it's not immediately obvious how to get started, especially for first-timers. But once you figure it out, the staff is quick and super friendly. All in all, Hippo Pockets is a must-visit for anyone who loves bold great flavors and a fun, casual atmosphere. Just come hungry and maybe a little patient!

What's faster than running? SPRINT to this place!! Parking: Street parking, it was free though! This is a smaller place with some indoor tables and a couple outdoor tables. I decided to take my meal to go! The decor here is fun and playful! The service was top notch! It took about 10 minutes to get my order and the staff were very friendly and upbeat! The food: I got the Birria pocket! It came stuffed with meat! So good! The consume was flavorful and an excellent addition! I also got the s'mores dessert pocket. The cherry filling with this is not over powering and was a very tasty mix of flavors! DEFINITELY give this place a try!!

Checked out this new place in south Minneapolis. The place is small. They have a few small tables inside and some set out on the sidewalk. They were busy, which I expected since they are relatively new. I ordered the gyro pocket. It was tasty but maybe could have used a little more meat and less lettuce. I'm happy I ordered the Tiziki sauce on the side. My husband got the zzaza pocket. Again, it was good but it could have used more sauce in it or a marinara dipping sauce. He said that it sometimes felt like he was just eating bites of pepperoni. Fries were delish. Idk if I would go back but it's a fun thing to try. And say you've been there.

This little spot is fantastic! I've been there twice now and the food and service have been great. I have tried the birria and the royale. Both cooked perfect and packed with flavor and so filling. The waffle fries are good, but the real star are all the dips you can order. They are all homemade and amazing. Try the ranch if you like dill, the seasoned sour cream is so good and the special sauce. Mmmmm. It's super small with only 4 or so tables. The music playlist is always good and they have a cute little phone wall. The mural in the bathroom with bring you back to the 80's.

Decided to check this place out after seeing multiple good reviews on social media. The inside is a fun space. Small, but cool vibe. We ordered to go. The food tastes amazing, but a whole wrap was missed from my order. No Original included, and by the time we got home and I unpacked the items my kids wouldn't have wanted to drive back to correct the error. This is the reason for the 3stars. The cook in back seemed a little overwhelmed with DoorDash orders coming in so this probably was the reason, but still left me disappointed.

Saw Hippo Pockets on Tiktok, and I knew I HAD to try. The restaurant had an 80s vibe with it with lots of colorful walls, decor, and lighting. You just order on a device and they bring the food to you. I ordered the Birria pocket. It came super quick in less than 5 minutes. Man was it stuffed. I could not finish it because of how big it was. It was super yummy, but unfortunately the cheese was cold and wasn't melted. I wanted the food to be steaming hot like my friends pocket she ordered. Lastly, the restaurant was FREEZING!!! I had to wear my winter coat while eating. I would come back and order the pizza pocket in the future.

I saw this place come up on our social media and knew I had to check it out! My boyfriend and I got the cheesesteak and filet-o-fish pickets and they were yummy! If I could describe what it reminded us of is like a Taco Bell Crunchwrap or a quesadilla but with a fusion vibe. The restaurant had a cool and funky aesthetic and standard service. Overall, glad we went and tried it out!

Loved the inside of the restaurant. The service was quick and easy. The food was pretty good. I got the pizza pocket which was pretty good. The garlic knots inside were a little weird. My friend got the birria pocket which was delicious.

Had the "Original" this week at U.S. Bank Stadium. Pretty good flavors, a tiny kick of spice, and filling! It was good, but we liked the "Minidelphia" one from last week better. SKOL

Great food and friendly service. I had the OG pocket and spouse had the Cuban. Both tasted amazing. Looking forward to our next visit to try more items.

Overall the food was okay, and I intentionally avoided most dishes under the fuertes section not only because they were pricey but also because I wanted to see how much care they put into dishes that customers probably relatively order less, so I ordered quite a few dishes under the para la mesa section. In terms of highlight, the best dish in my opinion was actually the pistachio tres leches. The milk was definitely there, and there was a good amount of pistachio flavor immersed into the cake. I thought that texturally it worked very well, too, because the softness of the cake provided a good contrast with the pistachio bits on the top. The esquites were great as well, with the tajin crema providing both a sense of creaminess and just a tiny bit of spice, and the manchego cheese giving flavor. The baja fish tacos contained a good amount of white fish and the chipotle crema added flavor. Personally I liked the fact that the brisket tacos had a good amount of smoked brisket meat, but my friend who ordered the dish didn't enjoy it because she didn't think the salsa was flavorful enough, which I could understand but disagreed with. Other dishes were leaning towards okay to meh, such as the papas machas, which had fried yukon potatoes containing very good crispy texture but way too salty flavor, especially if the potatoes were tiny and had a lot of oil at the bottom. The brussel sprouts did not have enough lime vinaigrette so it was practically flavorless, especially since it was probably deep fried without additional seasoning, which also caused some pieces to be hard to chew. The grilled snapper itself was almost flavorless, and relied on the salsa for flavor completely. I didn't understand it because it looked like it was grilled in achiote, so I assumed it followed the tikin xic dish in Yucatán Mexico, with pickled red onions and all. Maybe the achiote paste didn't have enough spices in it for marinading, or maybe the time wasn't enough. Even though as of now I wouldn't actively recommend this establishment to others yet, I would still like to visit myself to try some dishes that my other friends have hyped up, namely the enchiladas de camote and verdes.

Luckily we got there in time and I got a Chilango margarita and some nachos. The margarita was DELICIOUS, not too sour but flavorful. The nachos were pretty good: the toppings were well distributed and lots of flavor but I didn't love the combo of beans and sour cream, but I guess both are authentic to Mexico. We sat in the patio and enjoyed the beautiful lake view as we caught up, which was great, and I plan to come back! Pro tip: they validate parking! Turn on Thomas and pull into the beach club underground parking and bring your parking ticket to the restaurant for validation.

I hadn't been to this location but I had been to one of the others and so I had a good idea of what I was getting into. It offers a good place to hang out and talk while drinking a beer and having a munch. The food isn't mind blowing or anything but it's definitely solid for a bar restaurant. We decided to go with the vegan nachos (my friend is vegetarian) and they were really good. As a carnivore, the vegan chorizo was actually really good and I would get again.

I am updating the review because Pajarito delivered the experience I knew they would and exceeded expectations. See my previous review (chips are great, proteins are great, drinks are great) and all that stands. The additional details here are: they brought us a celebratory split champagne, dessert of choice on the house (the bunuelos were actually super good and I would get them again-- had no idea just how warm, light, sweet, yet dense a donut could be), and a aperatif (a fruity post-dinner mini shot/drink). Not to mention, the host was quick to say "congrats" (I had let them know of the occasion ahead of time). As well, they were happy to reserve an ideal seat of choice for us with advanced notice. Overall, such a great dinner and great service, which is what I was hoping for for this once-in-a-lifetime milestone celebration. Pajarito delivered. Thanks!

Named for perseverance and determination, Ena is a Latin fusion restaurant harmonizing flavors from Central and South America through a French technical lens, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. Chef-Owner Hector Ruiz's cooking reflects both formal culinary training and a clear respect for heritage, with sustainability woven into the way ingredients are chosen and treated. Seafood plays a leading role on the menu, handled with clear confidence throughout. The result feels thoughtful rather than showy, with hospitality that mirrors that same care. - Ceviche: A confident blend of Mexican and Peruvian influence. Chiles and ají amarillo set the tone, sharpened by pickled onion and lime. Balanced heat, clean acidity, and texture that stays true to form. Everything a ceviche should deliver. - Pasta de Langosta: Pappardelle with shrimp and lobster, well executed. Comforting without feeling heavy, this dish pulls together technique and flavor in a way that feels purposeful rather than indulgent. - Pescado: Blue and yellow corn-crusted red snapper paired with mole poblano and roasted tomatillo-guajillo salsa. The interplay of acidity, warmth, and depth complements the fish without overpowering it. Served over a crisp polenta cake with caramelized mushrooms, it's a smartly layered dish that stays focused. - Spanish Flan: a creamy vanilla custard with glossy caramel, accented by lemon-infused whipped cream and strawberry sauce, closed this meal on a high note. The cocktails strike a solid balance--spirited, and playful. The beverage list spans wine, cocktails, mocktails, beer, and seasonal offerings. A meal that stayed with me and IMO, worth adding to your next dinner rotation.
