    Game room

I used to love going here years ago when they were in Uptown. The menu seems to be different, which makes sense. However, as a vegetarian, typically eating at a taco joint there are lots of options with shrimp or beans, tons of veggies, etc. It was hard for me to find anything other than chips with guacamole and salsa or plain quesadilla. Everyone else in my group enjoyed their food! Burritos, nachos and corn cakes. I was just disappointed, as there used to be a delicious mushroom taco to order. Lastly there are lots of drink options from the full bar, and discounts for happy hours too. While you wait for food, they have a game room to spend money & time in! The patio is also nice and quiet if you can get an outside spot. Service is spotty.

Over the weekend I had planned to go to the Lyn-lake location, only to find it completely empty. I did hear about them opening this location but I thought it would be in addition to the other locations. I love that they are expanding to the southern suburbs. This location is decently sized. Set-up different than the previous restaurant that was here. They had a sidewalk patio which seemed to be very popular. I know from visiting the Plymouth location that the menu varies from location to location but I was sad to see they don't have the taquitos anymore. I went with my other usual which is the chicken tinga tacos. You can get 2 or 3 tacos despite the menu saying 3. The tacos were good. We also ordered the chips and dips trio (salsa, queso and guac). The dips were good- for sure recommend it has an appetizer! They do still offer $5 shots (iykyk) - they aren't on the menu or there's no board for them like they used to have, you just have to ask about it. Staff were nice. They had an arcade which was nice, especially for a night out. Parking in this area can be rough but there's parking spots in front if you get lucky, street parking around the corner and a parking garage with limited spots.

We went to the Eagan location next to the Vikings training facility. It was a Sunday evening and the Vikings bi-week. The place wasn't super busy and service was fast. The empanadas were so good! I'd definitely come back for those. I got the Beria ramen and it was ok. I eat a lot of ramen and it was hard to accept the Mexican flavors of it but it tasted fine. They give you lots of meat though so I plan to make a homemade quesadilla with it at home. My husband loved his tacos. They forgot his side of beans but we had so much food, we let it slide. I want to come back and try the tacos because they looked amazing and they have so many varieties . I also want to try the fried avocados. The place was easy to get to and we parked right in front. There's plenty of seating for larger groups.

    Grilled Veggie burrito bowl

Went here last night and the outdoor tables at 7 pm on a Friday were full. It is the first time I have been here since McCoy's closed, which used to be a staple in our little world as a walkable restaurant, family friendly, and great service at this location...so I loved seeing this local neighborhood corner busy with customers. We were lucky that one table was leaving so we were seated rather quickly. There was only one server for about 10 or 12 tables and it was clear she was overwhelmed, which isn't her fault. When she finally stopped by to take our drink order after over 10 minutes later, we actually ordered our drinks, an appetizer, and our meal (we ordered all at once to make it easier for her because we could see she was busy). The drinks came out from the bartender (the margarita I got was served frozen in a comically large bowl-like glass?!), we never received the appetizer, and then our meal. I had the grilled veggie burrito bowl, which was presented nicely, but really didn't have much else I can talk about. There was a lot of shredded lettuce, a fair bit of rice, and the veggies were a little spicy with good flavor but mostly onions and peppers (I would have enjoyed more zucchini and carrots other green veggies). My friends each had a burrito, and one had a beer and one had a cocktail. The bill came to $92 before tip for our three drinks and three burritos/burrito bowls (after she removed the appetizer we never got). It felt very expensive for 3 people to get very average food and a very poor service experience. I may come back for happy hour to give it another chance, but definitely left feeling disappointed.

Say hello to Sarah (with an "H")...our new favorite waitperson at Lago Tacos in Minneapolis. We were visiting our son who recently moved into Excelsior & Grand across the street from Lago Tacos and after a long flight it was just a short walk to what is now our favorite Mexican restaurant. We had a wonderful lunch and great conversation & laughter with Sarah...she made our visit that much nicer! The Chips and Queso as an appetizer were spot on and the Spicy Grilled Chicken Tacos were cooked to perfection and very filling. We also ordered the Chop Salad with Shrimp which was amazing with perfectly prepared shrimp and great flavor. We will be visiting our son in a couple of months and will definitely be stopping into Lago Tacos for a meal. 10 out of 10 stars...thank you Sarah. See you soon. L, John & Jean

    Chicken Quesadilla

The location is new and clean, the vibe is casual and the prices are affordable. Not the highest quality Mexican food but it is good enough for the price. If you're just looking for tacos and quesadilla without frills, this is the place for you. My wife and ordered the fried fish tacos and the chicken quesadillas, both of which were good. We will be coming back since we live in the area.

Ordered chips and three dips. Chips are stale. Unfortunate. Guacamole is hot and spicy. Disappointed.

Paid $28 for three mid tacos and a beer. Good lunch spot if you're Bill Gates or something.

SERVICE We've always had good service here! Last visit, we sat at the bar and the bartender was great. They're busy but efficient.

I was part of a party of 4 on a Saturday evening. The restaurant got increasingly busier (and…read morelouder) as we were there. Because of the crowd, service was uneven, but everyone was very nice. The chips and salsa that came out were pretty good (I say that as a Californian with major opinions on good tortilla chips). Two of my companions ordered the elote appetizer, but saucers were never brought out. That made for pretty messy eating at our table, though we tried to clean up as best we could. I ordered three avocado tacos on corn tortillas. They were really good with a great mix of flavors and textures. The avocados pieces had a thin, crisp crust, the interior soft and perfectly ripe. So good! The beans were pretty standard, but I really liked the small scoop of sweet rice. It was like a touch of dessert to freshen my mouth at the end. Our server apparently misunderstood our request for splitting the checks, as my bill was lumped in with a companion's, but I just paid him in cash to reimburse him so we could head on out. Even with the hiccups, I'd come here again. The staff was pleasant and the food was great (and good Mexican food is not something to take for granted in Minnesota).

I am updating the review because Pajarito delivered the experience I knew they would and exceeded expectations. See my previous review (chips are great, proteins are great, drinks are great) and all that stands. The additional details here are: they brought us a celebratory split champagne, dessert of choice on the house (the bunuelos were actually super good and I would get them again-- had no idea just how warm, light, sweet, yet dense a donut could be), and a aperatif (a fruity post-dinner mini shot/drink). Not to mention, the host was quick to say "congrats" (I had let them know of the occasion ahead of time). As well, they were happy to reserve an ideal seat of choice for us with advanced notice. Overall, such a great dinner and great service, which is what I was hoping for for this once-in-a-lifetime milestone celebration. Pajarito delivered. Thanks!
