This is the Hinodeya location in the Marina. What's special about it is the olive tree in the center of the back room! It's so pretty. The house ramen is good. The vegan ramen with the soy milk base is also good. Everything in the vegan ramen seemed bursting with flavor. If you get the bento or rice, you can get a smaller size of the ramen. Extra toppings such as beef, chashu pork, and poached egg are additionally charged. Service is not attentive. They are so busy, and the dining rooms are spread far apart. There is counter seating, so that may have better service. Credit card accepted Bathroom available No wifi

Came here for lunch. The staff was friendly. The restaurant is not that big so large groups might have trouble getting a seat. The food was good. Standard for a Japanese ramen restaurant. We like the lunch sets that come with ramen of your choice and some type of rice dish. We got the house ramen and thought the soup was a little bland. The noodles are the thicker kind and the broth was just too thin. This thicker noodle would be perfect with a creamier thicker soup.

Gorgeous calm interior with soft Japanese music playing in the background. Large patio space in back, totally enclosed but with a live olive tree and faux greenery giving the feel of dining in a lush garden. Total Japan vibes. Spicy Miso ramen was a standout--flavorful broth, tender pork, half a perfectly cooked hard boiled egg, well cooked noodles etc I thought it could use a bit more spice but it definitely was tasty. Didn't care for the shishitos as they had a sweet sauce drizzled across. Service was fast and efficient.

The combo meal options here are really extensive and portions are generous. They have beer by the pitcher which was nice with friends, and I thought the service was good. They do bang this drum thing every time a new party comes in and we were seated by the gong so that was the only thing I didn't love - sitting away from the drum is probably better.

Very good bento boxes and noodles. We visited Hinodeya for lunch as our hotel was right around the corner. The shrimp tempura appetizer was most likely a frozen, breaded tempura shrimp, so not so good. The broth on the ramen was hit and tasty. The spicy pepper powder that came with it was tasty as well. Hinodeya hit the spot but the service was slow and could have been better.

The restaurant was very cozy! Small, dim lighting and quiet. Ordered their house ramen. It was okay, nothing too special. I did appreciate their willingness to make accommodations to the ramen such as no bamboo. Has a nice aesthetic!

A great late-night spot and a comforting go-to. Their food is great, hearty, and a cozy option for the streets of SF at 2am! My only complaint is how small and crowded it can be! I wish their space was a bit bigger so that you could fully enjoy the meal without feeling rushed to make space for others.

I was the first of a party of five to arrive here for a 222 organized event. After entering, I was seated at a nice back corner table within a couple of minutes. Although it was in the middle of the dinner rush, the waiter informed me they were (already) out of the green gyoza and yuzu soda. I asked him if given the nature of our party we could split the check, and he confirmed it was fine. My other party members eventually trickled in, but even after we were all seated, it took a while for our orders to be taken. After ordering, however, the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I got the zen yuzu ramen for something light before going out to the bars, and it was absolutely the right call. I actually really liked the citrus flavored broth with veggies and inari, although the inari was a bit too sweet. Overall though, it was good and I would recommend this dish for those not wanting to feel too bloated or puffy after eating. Maybe next time though, I would try their house namesake specialty or popular spicy miso ramen.

Tokyo in San Francisco! Something about this city echos between the ears long after I've had to fly back to dull Indiana, sights and sounds, flavors and small inner rooms filled with a tree and skylights linger like old favorite pets. Us five guys couldn't get enough of this place, fantastic staff, huge menu, dynamic atmosphere showcasing crafted and inviting dining. Karage wasn't spicy like others but so good. Hunted for okonomiyaki, alas not here but the other four friends went for the large boxed meats and noodles, gyu-don which I keep forgetting that name. They loved it yet was way too much food for me! Hunted and began to panic what to get, it's tradition for me, then noticed a peculiar vegan soy based sauce ramen. Well why not? And boy did the hunch pay off, have never had such a smooth and drippy creamy dish before in any ramen shop. I'm forever a fan! You got to come here.

Food is ok. I tried the spicy ramen and the noodles are thicker than other ramen I've tried in the past. It was mildly spicy. I added more condiments- garlic and chili powder which were at the table. Staff is OK but are younger folks who don't provide maximum service. Hubby thought the prices were high. BFF tried the potato chips. Not sure if it's all that great,

I did not have a great experience at Hinodeya. The service is fast and the spring rolls were very good. However the veggie ramen I got lacked flavor entirely and I could not eat much. There was also way too much spinach which just overpowered the other vegetables. I've had good vegetarian ramen that had real flavor but this was definitely not it. Probably would not come back here again.

First time trying out this ramen place. We had the house ramen, spring rolls, and takoyaki. The ramen tasted fresh and delicious, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the service was quick. The ambiance was good and chill. Would probably check cleanliness, and the restroom could have been better; it had a weird smell.

What a drastic difference from our first experience. I came in excited thinking I'd get the same plate as last time. But the portions and plates have downsized and the prices went up. You can look at the menu photos to compare prices, I don't have to tell you that it went up nearly $10 since our last visit. Lunch special where? I was too hangry to even consider searching for a different place to eat. So, I ate begrudgingly. The food was tasty and the service was still friendly, but the plate was not worth $26. Sorry, but I cannot rave about this place like I did before. Probably won't be coming back again.

For family of 4 (2 teenage boys), we ordered $270 worth of food. 2 signature Toripaitan ramens, 1 signature Toripaitan Spicy ramen, 1 classic Toripaitan ramen, 1 Hokkaido uni and A5 Wagyu hand roll, 2 orders of 5 pieces A5 Wagyu sushi, 1 side order of A5 Wagyu slice XL, 1 corn ribs, 1 edamame, 1 vegan fried chicken made out of oyster mushroom, and 1 Matcha IPA. The ramen bowl itself is about $25/bowl. My signature Toripaitan spicy bowl soup surprisingly was not that hot. That's too bad. The thick noodles were hot though. Taste was decent. But the lukewarm broth ruined it for me. I like the side dishes better. Interesting ramen like the matcha duck and lamb cumin ramen might be with trying next time.

This dish stands out as one of the most memorable and flavorful offerings we have experienced. The rich, creamy broth delivers a perfectly balanced umami depth, harmoniously combined with subtle heat and aromatic spices that create an indulgent yet refined dining experience. Both my partner and I were thoroughly impressed by its complexity and comforting warmth, and we have continued to crave it long after the winter season. The Umami Creamy Tan-Tan-Men soup represents a true highlight of your culinary repertoire. We believe it deserves a lasting place on the regular menu, where it can be enjoyed year-round by loyal patrons and new guests alike. While it is somehow still not as concentrated as San Mateo (in terms of ramen shops within walking distance), I do appreciate that there is an abundance of them such that you don't have to desperately line up for 1 hour just for a bowl of soup. Hinodeya is a mainstay at this point. It's likely not even exciting to the locals, and nobody makes a special trip for them. There are multiple locations all over the city, and the Japantown one is one of the nicer locations with outside seating that isn't super crammed. They have a lot of different broth options here, but the shop is mainly known for their dashi (light seafood based) broth, and it is actually quite good with a lot of umami and freshness. Whenever I'm hungry but have no patience, I tend to wander into Hinodeya knowing that the ramen would hit the spot. Is it the best ramen?
