I have been wanting to try this place out for a while. I finally got the chance to visit with a friend, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The café has a beautiful, earthy aesthetic that feels cozy and inviting. Seating is a bit limited because it's so popular, but it's still a comfortable place to relax and enjoy. The staff were friendly and attentive, and if you're dining in, you can simply leave your plates and mugs on the table when you're done, they'll take care of clearing everything for you. My friend and I both ordered the Biscoff Matcha with oat milk. It's definitely on the sweeter side, but the Biscoff crumble adds a nice crunch and complements the matcha really well. For dessert, we had the Banana Krokan and the White Chocolate Raspberry. The Banana Krokan was rich, soft, and had a smooth chocolate flavor that wasn't too heavy. It literally melted in my mouth. The White Chocolate Raspberry was also soft and delicious, with a raspberry filling that was the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Neither cake was overly sweet, which paired perfectly with our matcha drinks. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be back to try more of their menu and different matcha flavors. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for quality matcha and delicious desserts to enjoy with friends or family!

Underrated gem for matcha in SD Lived in San Diego for 5 years, and I seriously regret not knowing about this place sooner. I tried the matcha latte with earl grey foam. SO DELICIOUS AND WORTH IT!!! Loved the combo and have not been able to find it anywhere else The cafe has super nice ambiance interior as a middle eastern cafe with lots of neutral, golden, and modern decor. Seemed like a popular spot for studying and catching up with friends. The barista at the cashier was also very nice and the drink came out quick despite being busy. Absolutely recommend!

Stumbled into this cute cafe. Love the decor and vibes. The bathroom was so cute lol service was decent. I got the biscoff latte and it was good. Nothing that I will crave and dream about having again but good.

So glad they opened a location closer to me in Scripps Ranch! I came right when they opened at 9 and the line was forming - that should tell you something! The earl grey matcha is my go to. The matcha has such a rich, bold flavor, and the earl grey is so cozy. I haven't tried their desserts yet, but I absolutely need to! They have banana pudding, layered cakes, and basque cheesecakes (MY FAV) that look incredible - presentation is everything here. Total aesthetic goals! Will definitely be back. The perfect start to a girl's day!

When you walk in, their glass display is stunning, and it's hard to miss their array of desserts. Their cakes are abs GORGEOUS. I recommend getting the biscoff or raspberry cheesecakes. They're super fluffy and not too sweet. As for the macarons or the cakes with flowers, they're alright. The tiramisu was eh, it was far too strong in coffee flavor and inedible for me to eat. As for drinks, their coffee is average. It's not bad, but it does in a pinch. However...their earl grey matcha is magnificent. Super subtle with the earl grey, and not too strong. You can still taste the matcha and the earl grey did not detract from the matcha at all. It complemented each other. This is the only dessert/cafe place for me that opens late. Most other places close far too early so this is why I keep coming back to Hinar. It gets pretty busy during the day, even til closing so come early if you want a table or before they sell out of cakes for the day. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a new cafe to try out!!

Decor 10/10 serene and earthy Instagram worthy. Matcha is premixed if you care but I think it still tastes good compared to other matcha places. Got the earl grey matcha and it was so yummy nice balance earl grey was not too overpowering 8.5/10. The basque cheesecake TO DIE FOR!!!! Coming back for that 10/10

I heard a lot of good things about this second location of Hinar so decided to try. The cafe has lots of parking spots available and this place is a lot bigger than downtown location. I tried their earl gray matcha and it was pretty smooth and good! The service was just ok, but def will come back for the drinks and desserts!

    Banana Krokan Cake

The combination of the hazelnut ganache, the chocolate chiffon, the bananas, and the mixed nuts--which I believe to be almonds and pistachios--in the Banana Krokan Cake I ordered created a smooth texture and rich flavor that's a delight to the senses. The cake had an airy, fluffy texture and the ganache layers had a creamy richness like a chocolate mousse. The bananas provided nice break to the richness of the ganache while the mixed nuts added a nice crunch to the overall eating experience. I also ordered a vanilla bean latte. It was a sweet but simple latte which complemented the chocolate-forward Krokan cake well. I wholeheartedly recommend this cake to chocolate lovers, and I would love to try the Tiramisu or the Banana Custard down the line.

Such a cute coffee, matcha, and dessert spot! Love their signature flower cakes, beautifully decorated with real edible flowers. They also have delicious macarons that pair perfectly with a drink. My favorite is the Earl Grey Macarons and Earl Gray Matcha. Everything is beautifully presented and the cozy atmosphere makes it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for matcha lovers and anyone looking for a charming dessert cafe

Hinar always SLAPS. Their matcha is consistently amazing, easily one of my TOP 5 spots in San Diego. I absolutely love their Earl Grey matcha with the foam on top. The Biscoff matcha and regular matcha are both delicious too. The service is always incredible as well! Everyone is super friendly, and the drinks come out FAST. I also can't forget to mention their beautiful interior. The seats are almost always filled with people studying or friends chatting. One of my favorite spots to hang out, I envy the people who live nearby and can grab this whenever they please.

Hinar has been on my list for awhile, and I'm glad I got to finally check them out. Upon arrival, I saw that the spot is super cute, and it was very busy even though I was there on a Thursday afternoon. All the seating was taken. What I got: - Brown Sugar Latte with Biscoff Foam: this was good, although it was a lot of sweets, it was still balanced with the coffee flavor. I believe the biscoff foam is seasonal. - White Chocolate Raspberry Cake: the cake was fluffy and moist while the raspberries added the perfect tartness to the cake. I will say, the cake isn't overly sweet, which is good, but I do wish there was just a little more cake than the pink cream. This spot is on the pricier side because both items did cost me $18.75 total. Which to me is a little steep.

Brown sugar matcha, Americano and Biscoff Cheesecake

This was my second time here. Glad we have a dessert place in our neighborhood. I ordered Brown sugar Matcha (cold), a hot Americano with cream and sugar and the Biscoff cheesecake. My husband and I loved everything. The matcha was perfect with brown sugar.....and hubby said the Americano was good too. Now the Biscoff cheesecake was super good...it had a nice thick crust and the caramel topping was perfect with it. The Biscoff cookie on top made it better too. Last time, I ordered one of the cakes decorated with a flower on the top but I prefer this cheesecake. I'll have to try the Basque cheesecake too when I return. The place is so nice and no wonder people hang out here and some work too with their laptops. Service has always been awesome!

Absolutely gorgeous aesthetic, and their earl gray matcha is fantastic. I'm excited to come back and try their brown sugar latte. Very friendly service, too - shoutout to the girl who took our order for her patience with us.

It seems if you are a regular, like the two tables near us, they chat it up and talk about how things are. If you aren't a regular, they just quickly come by and say "anything else?" the two times they came by. Im a huge water drinker so the carafe they brought only refilled our cups once. Never got another one until we were done and they came by asking about dessert. They weren't busy by any stretch on a Tuesday evening but apparently the frequent customers either tip really well or they prefer familiar faces. I assume the latter. So, I mean the food itself was great but service was not good. I mean we went when it was slow too and the host was talking it up with a frequent customer also asking about the changes recently to parking in their area nearby....
