Came here twice. The fist night we had sushi and the second we had habachi and it was delicious! Starting from the miso soup all the way to desert!

The staff was wonderful. The restaurant was beautiful. My wife has several food allergies and the staff worked around it easily. I thought the chef did a great job. The waiter was even better. I'm so glad I got to experience it.

I'd pass on the spring roll. They put a sauce on it which made it soggy by the time it arrived at our table. We liked the shrimp gyoza so much that we ordered more! I enjoyed the soft shell crab salad. It was a little salty but still tasty. Tom Ka Gai was very floral but the Tom Yum was tasty! I was so full by the time my Chicken Pad Ka Pro arrived but it had a great flavor. Jack had the Short Rib Massamun and it was the winner!

Tried teppanyaki last night and it was delicious. Very filling. Basic foods; shrimp, chicken, beef, vegetables and egg fried rice with tons of flavor. Fun show and entertaining with Chef Carlos! I enjoyed my meal. Back for round two we tried the regular menu tonight to get sushi and tried all kinds of foods. Antonio was our server and was helpful with details on each food and was very friendly! We ordered hot sake with the Sake roll with salmon (4 small pieces and got this one twice!), Nigirzushi roll with eel and salmon, Vietnamese roll, spring roll, short rib, Naan chicken Pakora, mixed pad Thai which had chicken and shrimp and miso soup. All of these were delicious; highly recommend!! 10/10 best restaurant on the property and definitely the best servers.

Located In the Secrets resort. You will need to make a reservation if you would like to sit at the teppanyaki bar for a show (Like at Benihana). Some of the dishes were hit and miss, but the show was great! During the show, you will be served... 1. Sushi - underwhelming- rice was hard meat inside is below quality. 2. Miso soup - a little salty, but good flavor. 3. Fried rice - salty as well. 4. Grilled shrimp, chicken, beef, and veggies - Not bad, but you can taste the low quality meat. 5. You will then end with tempura ice cream, which was tastey. Overall food is average, but the show was great!

1-Star Review for BAK Tulum…read more We were very disappointed with our experience at BAK Tulum, especially since it was meant to be a special anniversary dinner. I clearly mentioned to the staff that I am pregnant and asked for my steak to be well done. When our steaks arrived, mine was rare inside. I immediately brought it to their attention, and they took it back. My husband waited to eat with me, and after about 10 minutes, they returned my steak -- yes, it was cooked through, but they had simply thrown it back on the grill, leaving the entire crust black and burned. A proper well-done steak should be baked or finished carefully, not charred. I had to cut around the burnt parts and could only eat the inside, leaving my plate full of burnt steak pieces. We also ordered banana cream and churro waffles for dessert -- both were disappointing, we barely had two bites each. They brought us two complimentary champagnes, which was thoughtful -- but again, I had already told them I was pregnant. They didn't bother to offer me a non-alcoholic alternative, so I couldn't enjoy anything. When the bill arrived, the manager had said the desserts would be complimentary, but they were still charged on the bill, along with the champagne we never ordered. After pointing this out, the waiter said he made the changes but questioned who told me that, claiming I "heard wrong." Only after insisting did he remove the desserts from the check. We paid $700 USD for a $626.16 bill, expecting the change in pesos as agreed. Based on the daily exchange rate (18.46), the change should have been 1,363.50 pesos, but we were given 1,240 pesos, short 123.5 pesos. When questioned, the waiter said, "our restaurant's rate is 17," which still didn't add up and left us short again. Throughout the entire experience, no one apologized -- not for the burnt steak, not for the billing confusion, and not for the dishonest handling of the exchange rate. In person, I gave them the chance to make things right, but they chose not to. That's why I'm writing this review -- not to complain, but to warn others. The music and fireworks were great, but the food, service, and honesty were deeply disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience ruined our anniversary night.
