This place had some of the best reviews in the area but it was probably the worst meal we'd had! The salmon sashimi wasn't fresh. It tasted warm! The tempura batter was waaay too thick and not salted enough. The red curry ramen broth was bland and the noodles were soft and over cooked. It's not Asian food just because you add sesame seeds to it, which is what they did here. The rolls were ok but nothing amazing. Maybe we had a higher expectation and it didn't meet our standards! I give this place three stars because I came here twice. The first time was amazing. I had a great wild salmon roll and another sushi roll that was a special. The second time, the only thing that was good was the yakimeshi. That's not something hard to get wrong. Not sure how I feel and not sure I will come back again. It is however, one of the only places open in tulum after 10pm, so it has that aspect. read more

This particular day we were craving sushi, after looking at our map this place had decent reviews and it was the closest to our hotel so we stopped by for dinner. The service was excellent and our server was very attentive. The food/sushi was "okay". We got two sushi rolls, vegetable gyoza, edamame, and pork dumplings. Sushi Rolls - they lacked flavor and just something in them was missing. I don't want to be a harsh critic but we've tried sushi all over the world and this was just a no for us. I'd probably wait to get sushi in US or back home next time. Veggie Gyoza - they were crisp and perfect from the outside. Just the perfect texture, but the inside was very mushy. Almost felt like we were eating mashed potatoes. It was not a texture I was expecting on the inside. Maybe the other filling options had better texture and taste! Edamame - perfectly cooked and just the right amount of salt. Definitely the highlight of our dinner! Pork Dumplings - just a no for us! The dumping dough was perfect but the pork filling was too dry and crumbly. Overall the restaurant was esthetically pleasing and very comfortable. Also the location is on the main strip of downtown Tulum and if your lucky you might get a parking spot out front. I'm giving them 3 stars because they truly tried and they were very pleasant and the place was very comfortable and inviting! In general my sushi expectations aren't usually high but when your paying over $50/USD in a third world county, you expect the sushi to be a little bit more high quality! However if your craving sushi there were two other places in Tulum (beach strip) that make delicious sushi but are even more pricer. Or best option wait to get sushi when you get home! read more

this place is very underwhelming but it's also bc i've had very good japanese food so i'm a tough critic the restaurant is cute but their bathrooms weren't working at the time so i had to use the hotel's restroom next door. we started with some dumplings and tempura which was delicious! probably the best dishes we got. then we got some rolls and fried rice. the rolls were OK, the best roll we had was probably the lobster roll but the rest was so so. the fish didn't seem that fresh. the fried rice was honestly awful. there was more carrots and onions than rice in the dish. i barely ate this overall, if you're looking for good sushi i'd say just wait until you're back in the US or Japan but if you're craaaaving sushi and anything will suffice. this place will suffice your craving read more

I was craving hot soup and even tho I knew this place wasn't gonna have authentic ramen, I like Thai soup so I gave it a try. I tried their Thai ramen with camarón. It tasted more like Tom Kah Kai which I like and eat often back in the States. The flavor was actually not bad and the ingredients were fresh. I loved this spot I went twice & honestly the food is that food to get decent service. The first time I went I sat, placed my order, and specifically asked my server to bring my sushi out first (they didn't). As I waited to at least get my drink which took about 30 minutes I saw people that got there after me getting things before I got anything, I'm a very patient person because I have worked in the food industry. The food was okay, a little Nuke warm but that could have been because there was 7 of us. The playing was beautiful and the taste of the food was I would give a higher rating on some dishes. Some people at the table wasn't use to fresh water lobster so the taste was a bit surprising. The curry soup was well seasoned but just wish it was steaming hot. The sushi was nothing special, it's quite expensive for what you are getting & for Tulum. I am giving it two stars because it opens late & they were very friendly and accommodating. The best udon noodles I've tried in Quintana Roo by far! And I'm a noodle snob. I know good noodles, and this place has them. I stumbled upon this place after traveling from Playa to Tulum to try U.N.O Japanese restaurant, which to my surprise was closed at 8pm :( It turned out to be a happy surprise, because I found my new favorite Japanese restaurant in QR. The restaurant itself is a small space, but very well designed with soft lighting. 5 out of 5 for ambiance. Service was on point. Fast and friendly. Now, let's talk about noodles. I ordered a cold salmon udon and a Victoria beer. They had a nice selection of beverages, but if you're visiting and haven't tried a Victoria beer I highly suggest doing so before your trip is over. The waitress brought my udon hot instead of cold, which is most likely my fault since I did not speak loud enough and a lot of people do not order their noodles cold. I have not found another restaurant in QR that serves cold noodles. It is very rare. I was about to send the noodles back and ask for them to be cold, however, I decided to try their hot version. I was not disappointed! The noodles were perfectly cooked al dente, and the miso based broth was rich in flavor. There were carrots and squash on top of the noodles, which were perfectly cooked as well. Not too crunchy, not too soggy. The salmon pieces were delicious as well. The service we had was the best service we have had in tulum during the duration of our trip. The food was good. We had the mango roll, the crispy roll, and the teriyaki roll. The mango roll was so good but what really makes this place stand out is the service. Our server was very personable and polite. We are from the United States and when he heard that he treated us like family. He shared his story of living and working in Alaska and we found that to be quite lovely. Plus, on Tuesday's it's ladies night so rolls are buy 2 get 1 free and cocktails are 2 for one. The margaritas a little on the sweet side for my taste but it was still good. My husband ordered tea and it was such a fun experience. They bring out this cool little contraption where the water bubbles up to the top where the tea leaves are and then condenses back down to the bottom container.
