This restaurant is located in the northeast corner of Winchester / Nicolas Rd, next to Hanna Sushi. My Fiancee is Inidan and heard about this place, which is pretty new. We went and enjoyed our experience. The restaurant is kind of small on the interior side, but the ambiance was nice. The staff was great and the food was good. I recently went, and I will definitely be making this my new go to place for Indian food in the area! Everything we had was very flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice. They definitely know what they're doing. The aloo gobi and samosas were my favorite... the green sauce that comes with the samosas really took them up a notch. My brother had the chicken tikka masala, and I will definitely be getting that next time. The flavors mixed really well and had the perfect amount of cream. If you want some thing that isn't creamy, I highly recommend the lamb vindaloo. The lamb was extremely tender and flavorful... the curry does have a strong vinegar taste (which it's supposed to) but don't let that scare you. OMG! I never thought that Himalayan food would taste so good. They are not cheap on the spices and on the portions. I'm glad at least the portions match the price. I don't live in Temecula but I do come out to Temecula for business so my husband and I always come out every other weekend and this is our go to place for lunch. The only thing I am sad about is that there is not more locations in OC and I have to always drive out here for this food. It is definitely the cook who I wish was my personal chef. If you love Asian food or Indian food or spicy food, this is the place to check out. You will not regret going there. Everything you get on the menu I'm sure will taste good as my husband and I have been trying several dishes and every dish was spot on. Just make sure to also ask for the red pepper paste on the side. It will give your dish an extra kick. This place has really changed my mind about Himalayan food. It is for sure one of my all-time favorite food now. The bathrooms are clean, the restaurant is clean, and the servers are always attentive and super nice. We got takeout this time, and for some reason, the food was not as good most of it was decent, but the chicken tikka masala was not at all as good as before, this time it was rather pale colored and yellow not orange and it did not have as much flavor. We were very disappointed because we actually had two orders of it. The sauce was also quite runny. They didn't package the food well so by the time it came to Murrieta it was dripping out, see picture. Now my car smells like Indian food, which would be great if I actually had Indian food but it's not exactly the smell want to wake up to in the morning. Oh my gooooodness. I sit here eating my leftovers from Himalayan Taste, which prompted me to write this review. My nose is running and my head is sweating because they absolutely NAIL the spice which I can appreciate being a chili head myself. But aside from the perfect spice, the depth of flavor of the items we tried was so wonderful. My husband and I have officially tried every Indian joint in this town and I can now say this one is up there as a top contender. We had the Lamb Choila appetizer, garlic naan, Rogan Josh, and Paneer Tikka Masala. The appetizer was tasty, but I must say the bitter seeds (unsure of what spice they were) were a bit overwhelming in taste and the crunch they had was not super pleasant. This is literally my only dislike about the food. Both of our entees were amazing-- my husband's lamb was cooked so nicely and so flavorful. And my paneer had the BEST texture of any paneer I've had (I've had a lot). And the sauce was so buttery and smooth but had so many layers of flavor and a healthy kick of spice (still sweating, haha). We will surely be back to try more items. But in the meantime I'll be dreaming of the paneer.... read more

My food was ready when I got there. Was still warm. When I got home to look at everything, it was all packaged very nice for a take-out order. No spills, which is almost never the case at most places. I wish the sauces would have been labled, as I did not know which went with which dish. OMG!!!! this restaurant is the best Indian food I've ever had! Not an exaggeration. They have never once disappointed. Our go to order is butter chicken, lamb tikka masala, samosas, garlic naan, chicken biryani, chicken tandoori, and lentil soup and every single time it's 10/10!! Not only is the food always on point. But they make it all in such a timely manner, they are very productive, professional, and efficient. I recommend this place to everyone I know and every one of them that comes here are blown away. We used to go to Mantra before Himalayan taste opened. They were good don't get me wrong, but they always took like 45 mins to an hour to get my order done. Himalayan taste gets it done in 25-30 minutes and it tastes league's better than Mantra. Himalayan Taste also has a nice interior. Looking for a restaurant close by after enjoying wine tasting and found this spot and thought to try. Plenty of parking. It wasn't busy for a late afternoon lunch and on a Monday, we were seated right away. The order took a while but it was worth the wait. Ordered Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan and Paneer Kulcha for our entree. It came with rice but portion wise, not enough for 3 people to share. I thought rice was served per entree they had 3 people share a small bowl. Luckily we ordered Naan on the side. We ordered Mango Lasso which didn't arrive at the same time as our food and had to ask for it. We were also specific that our order was going to be 2 separate bill but we ended up having to split the items one by one at the front to pay. We ordered Gulab Jamun and Rasmalai but I honestly tried better Gulab Jamun somewhere else. The Mango Lasso was a delight though. We started our lunch with the Lamb Choila at a medium heat level. Nice big chunks of Lamb and every mouthful was awesome. It was a good size plate for $10.99 Then the Lamb Saag took center stage. We've had that dish at many different restaurants but these guys knocked it out of the park. To drink we had Flying Horse, a lager beer from India to round out the meal. We went here after a friend recommended this joint for their amazing Momos. So, we drove on a Saturday afternoon for a lunch all the way from Riverside. The place looks pretty clean and minimal. We ordered the chicken and veggie momos, long with Paneer Kabab, Chicken Biryani and Kheema paratha. The momos were delicious and hit the spot right away. They were steamed right and had the right consistency. The filling was very good and spicy- just the way we like it. The paneer kabab came in a sizzler format and pieces were cut into chunky triangles and barbecued right. The spiced onions and the bell peppers served as a suitable compliment to the silky soft paneer and were delicious. The chicken biryani was made in the North Indian style and was really good although my son did point out the use of spices was a bit excessive. Don't order the spicy version if you don't want too much spices to be added. However with the raita serving as a perfect coolant to the biryani it eats really well. The disappointment came with the Kheema parathas. They were bone dry and I didn't enjoy them at all. A bit of ghee or butter would have a gone a long way to make the parathas better. Service is fast although be prepared for a bit of waiting if you order the momos, since they are prepared made to order and steamed. But then again, I won't have it any other way. Overall, a nice find that we plan to return to very soon. read more
