Had been with family here a few days back. Ordered takeout initially but then wife changed her mind and we converted it to a dine-in. There weren't as many people and so were immediately seated. Staff was very friendly and the service was very good. The ambience was nice with decent lighting and soft music playing in the background. We ordered the Himalayan Spice chicken with Naan (it comes with rice) and Chicken Biryani. The gravy was finger licking good with good amount of boneless chicken pieces in it. Mouth was bursting with flavors. Naan was soft and tasted good too. The chicken biryani served with raita was also tasting very delicious. Decent amount of chicken with all the flavours hitting just the right spot. We loved all that was served and wouldn't mind returning to explore other dishes. Keep up the good work. read more

They double charged us and after many attempts to get them rectify the situation, they just ignored it or told us manager will call us back. Definitely recommend the chicken tikka masala. So so good. Received it with a side of rice and we also ordered garlic naan. Both times my husband and I have come we've received very friendly staff. The music was a little too loud the first time we came, but I'm personally just a little sensitive to being overstimulated by loud environments, but the second time it was not loud, so that was nicer. Stop by this Indian restaurant and this is by the far one of the tastiest Indian restaurant . We ordered Mix tandoori. The salmon were huge chunks and the shrimp and chicken were well seasoned . They don't dummy down the spices here. the chicken curry was explosion of flavor and it just hit the spot!!! Service was amazing and they even sliced a few pieces of a turkey. We've been searching several years for a good Indian restaurant in the Denver area, and finally discovered Himalayan Spice. The food was awesome - we shared Lamb Biryani and Paneer Makhani. Himalayan Spice has quickly become my favorite Indian / Nepali spot in Denver! It is a hidden gem just off the main street on Tennyson. Went in just to see what the new spot was about and it blew me away! The owners who we met are from Nepal and they are the nicest guys. Not only are they friendly and love their culture, but the food is delicious! The menu has tons of dishes, mostly Indian, but there are a lot of Nepali dishes that you should try like the momos (a delicious homemade dumpling from Nepal). I have had a few dishes now, always wanting to try something new when I go back, but the Chicken Makhani (Butter Chicken) is phenomenal - definitely recommend! Also, if you like Chai, you have to try their homemade Masala chai after your meal - it's fantastic! One of the owners, Ganesh, is always there with a smile and even gave us a Nepali dessert to try after our dinner - Kheer (Himalayan Spice Special Rice Pudding), it was the sweetest gesture and great to try another Nepali dish. Overall the food, atmosphere, and service here are outstanding, you will not be disappointed and you will be going back on a regular basis! read more

I am writing this as I sit in the parking lot because I'm having an out of body experience after leaving Himalaya Spice and need to let everyone know to check this place out stat! Let's just say they nailed it across the board. I just finished a long day of Uber and Grubhub deliveries and found myself near downtown Denver and rather than drive back home to Boulder I figured I would try something new. After finding Himalaya Spice on Apple Maps less than ten minutes away I drove over and walked in a few minutes past 9. They allowed me to dine-in even though they were closing shortly. My server, Akash, provided excellent service and was super kind. We struck up a conversation after my meal and I found out he had recently moved to the US from Kathmandu and was loving the mountains that reminded him of Nepal, and that the restaurant changed ownership the prior week and the new chef implemented a new menu with some different spices and recipes he had used in previous restaurants he had opened all across the US. I ate the vegetable korma, and admittedly this was actually my 4th day in a row of eating vegetable korma while on the job. Curry Kitchen, Yak and Yeti, and I honestly can't even recall the last, but hands down Himalaya Spice takes the cake. The korma had all the different vegetables: peas, carrots, potato, zucchini, cauliflower; and the Indian Spice was the best yet. The mint chutney and tamarind on my chicken pakora appetizer were both on point too, the tamarind is incredible. The mango lassi quenched my thirst and the delicious Masala chai tea brought it all home. The price was a great value too, having spent less than the previous night's diners. This is a new restaurant that is still waiting for their liquor license, but the food is top notch. Veggie momos were plump and flavorful with a delicious momo sauce. We also got the sauteed truffle asparagus appetizer which was excellent. My wife had the vegetable curry and enjoyed it and I had the chicken tikka masala. The masala sauce was creamy and complex with juicy chunks of white chicken meat, one of the best I've had, and I eat this dish a lot. I ordered the maximum spice level, which was 5, but it was more like medium to me (yeah, I'm that guy), but nonetheless it had great flavor. We also had peshwari naan, which was sweet and crunchy and well made. I also had a chai tea which was not available without sugar, so it was too sweet for my taste. Still, it was delicious. Check this place out before the get their liquor license and get too busy. You'll be glad you did! read more

What a great addition to the restaurants of Berkeley! Himalayan Spice offers excellent selections that are flavorful and fresh and offered by a welcoming staff. We ordered the vegetarian family platter which is quite enough for four and let's you sample five or six distinct dishes.
