I came here with some friends who had been before; though it was my first time. Tip: there're two doors; use the one on the right. The service was great; everyone smiled and were friendly. The food came out fairly quickly. I like the interior -- good tables and chairs, decorations weren't too much, but the place wasn't bare. I'm not a huge fan of Indian food, but there are a few dishes I can feel safe getting. They have a spiciness scale of 1-5. Everyone I was with got 2 and seemed to be just right. I don't think I would personally go beyond a 3 without some sort of dare reward that I deem worth it. My only real complaint is maybe a cultural thing, I'm not sure, but I ordered a dish with goat as the protein and there were several pieces of bone in it. I was later told by one of my group that on a profit visit they were warned of that being how it's made. So if you order something with goat meat (which is delicious), chew carefully. And they have a variety of naan breads: rosemary, garlic, etc. I'm definitely willing to return. read more

Can only comment on the food because we ordered takeout. We were craving for Indian food so decided to try this spot out. Got the Chicken Tikka, Palak Paneer and Goat Curry. Out of the three, the Goat Curry was the best. Unfortunately, the Palak Paneer lacked a more forward taste. The Chicken Tikka was sweeter than what we're used to. Not sure if it's because it's a fusion restaurant. The food wasnt bad, the portion was decent for the price but it just didnt meet our cravings. This place is a MUST VISIT. It's a quaint restaurant with a lovely ambiance inside. The owner is super sweet as are the employees. We visit San Antonio once a year and always stop by at least once. Food was great. Be forewarned that if you order Indian spicy, it will be sufficiently spicy. Serving staff need a little more training. Our dishes came out and we were halfway done when our server came by to give us our dining plates. Refill was not offered until we were done. Ambiance is very casual and relaxed. The first time I ordered online and went in for pick up and the order had never been received so I had to re-order and wait. The owner was very friendly and apologized profusely for the issue and gave me a free drink as well. I started out with the Vegetable Samosas which were delicious and had the perfect amount of spice and were not spicy. I had never heard of Momo's and decided to give them a try. They were a little too sweet for my liking but the filling did have good flavor and the skins were nice and crunchy and reminded me of a pot sticker. If I get them again I would just ask that they not be covered with the sweet Momo sauce. I also had to get my favorite Chicken Tikka Masala to see if it was as good as other places and it did not disappoint. It had a great creamy savory sauce that was not overly sweet and the chicken was cooked perfectly. FIRST TIME VISIT! I have been craving some Indian food but haven't quite picked a Yelp favorite just yet to try out. I happened to drive by this new spot with the hubby yesterday and if you know him, you know I'll be dining alone at an exotic eatery like this one. Haha! It's ok. I enjoy dining alone sometimes. Allows me a distraction-free reviewing experience while I'm still dining... so here I am enjoying a solo dinner. THE LOCATION: This place is located in a strip of businesses at Alamo Ranch near the Chick-Fil-A and my fave ramen spot. Lots of parking to be found. Kumori Japanese restaurant is right next door. THE MENU: there are LOTS of choices at this place. Appetizers, Vegetarian menu, desserts, soups and more! I was here for some Indian food but also curious about Nepalese food, too. I decide to order a Mango Lassi to drink (a yogurt beverage that is mango flavored), Veggie Samosas for an appetizer and Chicken Vindaloo for my entree. I also order the Kheer for dessert. THE SERVICE: I was greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. The woman who greeted me brought me to a table quickly and returned after a few moments to get my drink order. She is lovely in the way she addresses and engages with me, and pretty, too! I have a ton of questions, this being my first time and she is happy to divulge tons of info. She and her hubby are the owners of this family-run business and they take a lot of pride in it. She tells me about this 2-year long dream and the risk she knows she faces in running this small business during these scary economic times. She and hubby are both native to Nepal and I am EXCITED to embark on what I believe will be an authentic experience. Squeeeeeeee!!! She and another server are very attentive and I feel very welcomed, nurtured and appreciated. THE FOOD: the Samosas come quick. Hot and HUGE! I don't recall samosas being so big. The 2 pieces are definitely good for two people. The dipping sauces that come with it are delicious. One is a sweet tamarind dip and I don't recall what the green one is, but it's my favorite. Lol. I usually eat Tikka Masala and curries when I dine on Indian food so I opted to try the Vindaloo with chicken with a medium spicy level. The red sauce is nice and I enjoy it with the basmati rice that comes in a separate dish. I could have used more spiciness, so now I know how to gauge this place's perception of HOT. Go spicy or go home, y'all! The garlic naan is EXACTLY what I needed, had been craving for a while and was not a disappointment. It came glistening with butter (?) and fresh garlic. I could've just made a meal out of that. Seriously. The Kheer I sample for dessert is a rice pudding. Not as thick as tapioca and definitely a thin version of arroz con leche minus the cinnamon. A few golden raisins adorn the surface of the dish. I enjoy it! OVERALL: I am so pleased with this place, the new flavors to this community and the great customer service.
