The samosas were good. I had the Punjabi chole, and it comes with puri. My husband had the butter chicken. We, also, had the garlic naan. The meals came with rice. The chole was well spiced, and the chickpeas were done well. I had asked for medium spice but could have gone for the hot. The garlic naan was delicious. The butter chicken was spiced differently than what we've ever had before. It was acceptable but weird. read more

This restaurant looked interesting so I stopped by, and I am so glad I did! Food was so fresh and filled with flavor. Customers in San Antonio may not be very familiar with food from Nepal. The staff here is very friendly and helpful in explaining the various dishes. The flavor profiles are similar to Indian food but a little more intense. The service is prompt. The portions are generous. The service was really good and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and had a chill energy. As for the food: it was excellent. Garlic naan was warm, fresh, and delicious. I was very excited to see a new Indian restaurant pop up nearby. Unfortunately it was not what I expected.I thought the samosas were good but that was all. The chicken tikka masala tasted nothing like it was supposed to and was very bland. The orange chicken and butter chicken or okay. Overall I felt that the food was very overrated on Yelp. read more

I've tried multiple dishes multiple visits and I'm done coming here. My wife loves their food but I am not impressed. Service is friendly but slow. Tonight they took our order but forgot our drinks ( water), until our food came out. Spice levels are inconsistent also. Ordered medium heat and seems like low or no spice but when ordering tonight the server said they knew of the issue and recommended spicy. We'll it was, too much for my liking. The owner came buy and was real nice and offered something else or to take it off my receipt which was nice. But I'm not sure what if anything I'll like. I wish they would have photos of their dishes on their website or in house menus too, which they don't. I'll stick with my local favorites for now. read more

Our new favorite place! Omni hubby and vegan me are always on the lookout for restaurants where we can enjoy "both kinds" of food: meat dishes for him, and vegan dishes for me. We tried Himalayan Kitchen yesterday for the first time, and quickly added it it to our thumb's up list. The atmosphere was clean, inviting, modern, slightly upscale, light and airy. Staff were friendly, warm, responsive, and knowledgeable; and the food was DELICIOUS! As a near 40-yr vegan, I'm accustomed to ethnic cuisines being vegan friendly, either naturally or with minimal changes. Hubby, on the other hand, is firmly steeped in the standard-American-diet, and approaches new and different cuisines with extreme caution. Under the expert guidance of our charismatic waitperson, husband ordered a pork fried rice which he quickly proclaimed both delicious and excellent. He noted it wasn't greasy or heavy, but "very healthy and fresh tasting", while filling. My tofu and spinach was excellent, with husband proclaiming the tofu as "flavorful, nice consistency, and very good". The food was obviously fresh and thoughtfully, individually prepared. In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and cautions husband is now willing to branch out and try new menu items on future visits. read more

It was the worst indian/nepali food I have ever tried. We ordered carry out; Lamb curry had too much butter and chicken tikka masala was sour, tangy and bitter. Pork momo was not fully cooked. The only good thing was naan. Sorry but I was really disappointed. May be dine in food is better but definitely not recommending carry out. read more

We had the cauliflower appetizer, Archari Lamb, garlic naan, and raita. I'm a spice weenie, so the cauliflower was a bit too spicy for me, but the crispy texture and flavor were lovely. Very nice atmosphere, open concept but not too loud. Soooo many selections on the menu, there will be something for everyone. Different kinds of naan- never saw that before. The food was plentiful and very delicious! I had tandoori chicken- great flavor and cooked perfectly. My friends had the goat curry and lamb kodai (sp?) Worst service ever. There were plenty of tables available and we were seated immediately. It took 20 minutes to finally receive a menu and water with no ice. After 15 more minutes of waiting another employee comes by and picks up menu without taking order. Very disorganized. I would not recommend wasting your time when there are better options available.
