Even though I was barely here long enough to say that I stayed, it's time to break things down: Never was charged for parking. Desk agent asked if I was parking a car in the garage next door and I said yes. After that.....poof, no charge. If you need to be in Scranton proper for any reason this place is perfectly located. Very close to the University of Scranton, Steamtown, any of the actual in town sites from The Office and right off of 81. No real issue with the room. The carpet was stained in multiple spots but aside from that, everything worked as advertised. While there are several bars/restaurants close by, I opted to stay in since I was beat from a long kayak trip and had another one the next day. The restaurant, PJ's 1910 Pub, ain't sexy, but it gets the job done. I'm writing this review for future reservations for Thanksgiving 2026. I have never had such a disappointing buffet in my 65 years. Cold food,people behind the tables at 2pm didn't care what the heck was going on .All items were not there( that was offered). I called the Hilton 6 times with no response.No Mimosas.The staff was cleaning up around us ( like they were closing) Very unpleasant feeling only positive was the servers ( soda,coffee etc) The dining room looked like we were at a funeral. Grandson wanted another apple cider again at 2:30 there was none available They did provide a piano player. I paid 145.00 for absolutely an embarrassing Thanksgiving for myself,Daughter and Grandson. Unfortunately, this Hilton is missing the mark and is not up to the standard that is associated with the "Hilton" namesake. Unfitted bedsheets with holes in them, no duvet cover, water damage in the ceiling, mold present in the bathroom, and the room had not been vacuumed. Loved the staff here. So helpful and friendly. The breakfast included with our room was amazing. There was an egg/omelet, French toast, pancake bar for you to concoct your own breakfast creations. Carl was working the station and he was wonderful! Lots of other buffet options as well. The room was clean and spacious. TV was big with lots of stations to choose from. Nice location to the airport. About a 12 min drive. AC doesn't work that good in the rooms. Mine down to 62 and it feels like 72 in this room. Carpet needs cleaning, smells like wet old mildew feet in the rooms. Stains on carpet look yuck. Bring slippers. Bed was comfy. I have to get on the bed to keep closing this mysterious panel. Overall, I generally like Hiltons. The Hilton brand for the most part is a solid standard and you know what to expect when you enter a Hilton branded hotel. Unfortunately, this particular Hilton didn't really fit that standard and missed the mark. While the check-in was a breeze and the staff was overall friendly, the entire facility could use some love. It's showing it's age from the moment you walk in. From the outside, it looks a bit on the newer side. However, the lobby, elevators, hallways, and rooms all feel very rundown. The elevator doors themselves appeared to have something that had spilled on them, dripped down the bottom half and never was cleaned for months, and now are stained. Even though our room was "clean," it never really felt clean. Negatives aside, the location is prime downtown Scranton. There's a cute coffeeshop called Adezzo a block away, along with an arcade bar across the street called Bartari. And Noir Dark Spirits is a great spot for nearby bites and drinks, a short walk from the hotel. The parking situation is also a bit strange, considering the parking garage is technically not the hotel's at all - instead it's another separate business with it's own entrance directly NEXT to the hotel that the hotel front desk provides a daily in/out ticket once you've parked inside. The Lackawanna Heritage Trail is a few steps away, a 70 mile long trail for a brisk walk or bike ride. The hotel used to house bikes to rent at no charge via BikeScranton.com/BikeLackawanna - however, I'm told that was temporarily discontinued due to Covid and the bikes have not returned to the Hilton. If you're looking for a local bike rental, I'd suggest calling the hotel first to see if the bikes are back. read more

Not really what to say here but need to say this. First review I have done in my life. Hotel off Joe Biden Expressway is aptly named because he must have stayed here 60 years ago. Parking lot is disconnected from hotel. My wife took 15 minutes to park the car and I was afraid she had gotten mugged. Not a good neighborhood either with 2-3, people smoking cigs at the entrance. Now for the coup de ristance! My wife peeled away the comforter/top shirt to find it unclean with public hair on the bottom sheet. At least we saw no ghosts! read more

My husband and I just stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Scranton and overall, had a wonderful experience because of the wonderful staff working there. After a couple of phone calls got it sorted out, but they still charged for parking even though we had no car. We were told they assume you have a car unless you tell them otherwise. Carl the check in guy and Luke the services guy were great. No, I mean GREAT! We felt very welcomed upon arrival. Luke even shared his supply of Hershey kisses with us. We were feeling a bit peckish as it was late and we had spent the latter part of the day at the nearby hospital, so it was nice to be able to select a piece of apple pie from the cold cases in the pantry shop. They were very tasty. When we arrived on the 5th floor we were greeted by a lovely fragrance gracing the halls. Really really nice. Kind of like a Bath and Body Works light fragrance. Very pleasant. My sister in law even commented again about the fragrance. Our room was very clean, nice smelling and perfectly appointed. The beds were wonderful. My sister in law commented that she could stay there forever. Given that she has not been sleeping well due to her husbands illness (don't worry, not covid), this was a real treat/blessing/comfort for her. (Me too) the assortment of pillows on the bed was nice also as you can use the type you like. Breakfast the next day was splendid. Can't remember the omelet guys name, and he did say it, but he was extremely nice as well. Breakfast was good although we had to rush off to the hospital before we could go in for round 2, croissants or muffins... the gal did let me take two muffins with me for later, which I thought was also extremely nice. Parking is nearby and Carl validated the ticket so no complaints there. Overall this is a very nice property and I will definitely stay there again. Actually, we may stay again in another day or so, depending on my brothers health situation. Stayed here while on a stopover during a business trip. I was able to get a room upgrade and it was a nice room. Shower and hot tub in the bathroom. Very spacious and modern rooms. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Their location is great too because of the distance to restaurants and a mall so there are other options besides the hotel restaurant. read more

I've always had a good experience staying at the hotel. Especially when I could bring my best friend my dog. The bar has exceptional food and the banquet servers are awesome. I got to say a big shout out too The Hustler and Hustler Courtney that's there. That woman brings out trays of food and returns to the kitchen with dishes that are extremely heavy I know from experience. Check in was good and then it took a major tumble. I was looking to relax after a long drive. Ten minutes after lying down, there was major hammering in the room above. I called the front desk and was told that there was a room renovation going on above me, but it should stop for the day soon. I headed for PJ's for a drink (or2) and dinner. The service was better than average, and the suggested food was very good. I was awakened at 7:15 with the start of the loud continuous hammering. DISGUSTING!! Don't let the pictures fool you!!! This was easily the WORST stay ay a hotel that I've ever experienced! (7/23/2023) What was supposed to be a relaxing and exciting vacation with my family turned into a complete nightmare! I've always been under the impression that Hilton Hotels are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. However, my view of this chain has been forever tainted. This hotel was absolutely disgusting and put the health of everyone in my family at risk. Checking in to the hotel, I could tell right away that something was not right with the air conditioning. It was very hot and muggy navigating the hallways and I was starting to become uneasy because there was a musty smell. I figured we would be able to remedy the situation by cranking the A/C once we got into the room. Room 705. We adjusted the temperature down to 60 degrees and made our way to a nearby restaurant and expected the room to be cooled off upon our return. When we came back, we were disappointed to find that our room had not cooled down much at all. We decided that since we were only there for the night, maybe we could cool off in the pool. There's not really much to note about the pool. I decided to take my 2 year old back up to the room to start giving her a bath and my 9 year old and husband would shortly follow. I was excited to try out the jacuzzi tub. Here's where it starts to get bad. The drain toggle was broken and hanging on for dear life and trying to keep my daughters fingers from being caught was a challenge. (She's a curious 2 year old so you can understand how safety is my main concern). To remedy the damage, a small drain stopper was in the tub that barely fit the drain and I had to keep refilling the tub. The handles for the water spun 360 degrees and trying to keep a steady temperature on the running water was impossible. I made do with what I had to get my child clean. I was so thankful when my husband and other child came back to the room. After the bath, I let me youngest wonder the room to play with her toys and quickly noticed that the bottom of her feet were filthy and black with who knows what. Mind you, I gave her a bath so there was no reason for this. I then decided to take a white clean washcloth, got it wet and scrubbed a spot on the carpet. The washcloth immediately went from white to yellow. I then became very curious and started my investigation of the cleanliness of the room. The entire room was riddled with filth and grime. In the corner of the bedroom there was what looked to be dried up pink vomit matted into the brown stained carpet. The lamps on the tables had dust build up. The sofa bed in the living room had stains that looked like the ingredients needed to make children. One of the pillow cases that something brown smugged on it. My husband pointed out that the stand up shower was falling apart. The metal frame that holds the glass walls of the shower was falling off the tracks. We noticed behind the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom was black mold! We began peeling back more and more wallpaper on every wall of the room and continually found more and more mold. I was appalled and shocked beyond belief and felt so guilty that I had subjected my family to this type of toxicity. I addressed this to the assistant manager (Tyler Vanderbilt) who was just as concerned as I was. He did everything in his power to try and remedy our stay with a newly renovated room. Once my husband and I hauled all of our belongings and sleeping children down to room 241, we began to notice mold in this room as well. They tried to cover it up by mudding and caulk. The next morning my husband called in the health department who confirmed the infestation of mold. He was able to shut down the entire 7th floor due to other rooms also having mold. Further investigation may warrant the rest of the hotel to be shut down. The general manager Paul became angry with us and acted as if we were causing a problem when all we wanted was to be heard, made comfortable and compensated for our horrible stay. We were told that to "get the hell off my property" and that Hilton's corporate attorneys were now involved. The only compensation that we received from Hilton was 5,000 reward points, which is pretty much a slap in the face considering the value comes put to be $31.50 towards a future stay. We will NEVER be stupid enough to stay in another Hilton hotel or any hotel affiliated by Hilton ever again. read more

Room was clean, and the staff was nice. There was a person from housekeeping knocking loudly on doors at 9am. They knocked on our door and woke us up. I will never understand why hotels think it's perfectly acceptable to wake the guests up with knocking on the door well before check out. The carpet in the room needed renewing, had a lot of stains. I give this hotel 5 stars as someone who stays in mid-level hotels regularly. For a mid-range Hilton in a smaller town - it deserves all 5 stars! LOBBY/STAFF: the lobby/front desk/restaurant/coffee area is super clean and nice - but more importantly, the staff were extremely helpful and caring. The shuttle service is good, and when I had to change plans and go to the airport last minute (but the shuttle driver had already left) - they recognized that I was in a hurry and got me a cab. FOOD: The breakfast is really really good. Custom, made to order omelettes are a must-try. I did not try the restaurant or bar but they do exist in the lobby and it looks like a pretty nice spot to hang out! AMENITIES: The pool looks okay (did not go in), and the gym was great! Has everything you need and even a few extras (for a hotel gym): dumbbells, cardio machines, bench, cable machine, stability ball... and if I remember correctly even medicine balls as well. It's also pretty spacious in there. Lots of mats and room to move around. ROOMS: Rooms were clean, and fairly up to date. What you'd expect from a run-of-the-mill Hilton. No complaints! read more

This may be my favorite hotel, with the sole exception of the Hilton in New Orleans on St. Charles, where I also spend alot of time. These rooms are the best; quiet and dark with the most comfy beds...you'll forget you're not at home. I sleep poorly on the road, and I'm on the road often, but I always get a good night's sleep here. The staff is wonderful; very warm and welcoming. I was here on my birthday one year and Doug let them know...they brought chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling water to the room with a card that was signed by probably whoever was on staff that day, and they had already upgraded us to a spa suite. I only felt a little guilty using all that water for one bath. It was my birthday, after all! I'm always on my way from somewhere else to somewhere else when I stay here, and usually end up checking in late, so I haven't tried the food here. read more

The location of this hotel is perfect: just off the highway, walking distance to the mall and other shopping and restaurants as well. The hotel is clean and all the staff was extremely friendly. I especially liked this location since the pool was open until 11 PM. The only odd part was that the parking garage was not attached to the hotel itself, so you have to go outside of the parking garage and enter the hotel just next to it. There wasn't a lot of parking available in parking garage was almost full by the time we arrived. Since we were attending a funeral, we asked the front desk for a late check out and the manager was more than happy to give us an extra late check out. We both appreciated that very much. read more

The hotel is in great proximity to Montage Mountain, which is why we stayed here. Service was below grade, it seemed as though it was everyone's first day, although the staff was nice, they weren't knowledgeable or responsive. Rooms are clean. The pool and hot tub are way over chlorinated. It ruined our bathing suits and 2 feet of my hair broke off. The hotel will only comp the room and will not pay for the damages to bathing suits or my hair (my hair used to hit below my waist and now it's just below my shoulders). I'm now paying for hair treatments ($600 in so far and counting) and the hotel will not pay a dime even with receipts. If you stay here, stay out of the pool! I would recommend staying anywhere else but here. First day type of staff, and when something goes wrong, they absolutely will not help you. read more

Having to stay at a Hilton property these days reminds me why I left Hilton a couple of years ago, and reaffirms my decision for doing so. It isn't that my occasional Hilton stays have been atrocious, it's just that the attention to detail, consistency across sub-brands, and value proposition just aren't there anymore. This full Hilton property in Scranton, PA, falls in line with that general assessment. First, on arrival, I had to call the hotel to figure out where to park. I knew from researching in advance that it was self parking, and those spaces are generally very easy to find. However, when I arrived at the hotel, it wasn't intuitive at all. There was a sign a hundred feet or so down from the hotel that said "Hilton Parking 500 Ft," and had an arrow to proceed ahead. I came to a parking deck in much less than 500 feet and wondered if that could be it, but there was no visible signage on the front of the deck indicating that it was, at least not that I could reasonably see driving by at approximately 10-15 mph. That's when I called the hotel. Turns out, that was it, but she told me there is also a deck right across the street (also not marked for Hilton because they "don't own the decks"), which is where I parked. To have seen the deck I parked in across the street, I would've had to be looking in that (opposite) direction at the moment I was looking at the "Hilton Parking 500 Feet" sign. This is obviously a minor annoyance, but these details matter for out-of-towners (likely the majority of guests here), that are unfamiliar with the area, and are trying to park during rush hour when a missed attempt means another timely lap around the block in standstill traffic. I think this is the first time I have ever complained about hotel parking because it usually isn't a problem. Parking is $12 a night at either of the decks with the Hilton discount and includes in-and-out privileges. Check in was easy and the lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly as she oriented me to the hotel. I chose a room on the 7th floor, and was surprised to learn that this hotel has smoking rooms (why?). I honestly didn't know that's still a thing, so there ya go. The room was spacious, king bed, but fell in line with my previous comment about brand consistency. While Hilton isn't the very top of the Hilton brand scale, it is above the likes of a Hampton Inn or a Double Tree, for example. Sometimes, your Hilton experience is quite lush and upscale. Sometimes, it's much more in line with a Hampton Inn. The Scranton Hilton is on the lower rung of this comparison. This includes things like the furniture, quality of the towels and linens, etc. You just never quite know what you're going to get. The bathroom was clean, with the exception of someone else's hair on the wash cloths. The shower was nice and warm, but the water pressure was on the low/weak end. The bed was nice and comfy with a good selection of pillows. The view from the 7th floor was of the parking deck across the street (just informational, not Hilton's fault). I noticed that a work meeting I needed to call into ended at 12pm, and hotel checkout is 11am. I needed to call the front desk to ask for late checkout, which I did from the room phone by pressing the "Guest Service Hotline" button. The guest service hotline rang "busy" for 10 minutes as I kept retrying intermittently while I did other things. I finally called the main hotel number from my cell phone and it went right through. The lady at the front desk was happy to accommodate my noon checkout, and had no idea the phone line was busy ("I'll have them check that"). There is a restaurant on site called P.J.'s 1910 Pub. I opted not to eat there because of some pretty dismal reviews. There are some great restaurants within walking distance, however, including Bar Pazzo (highly recommend) There is a Starbucks in the lobby and another cafe called Casey's that serves breakfast (I opted for the 1,000 points at check-in instead of the breakfast). If you have to stay in downtown Scranton, this Hilton isn't a terrible option. However, if you're flexible, and can stay more on the Wilkes-Barre/arena side, there are some lovely Hilton and Marriott properties that are around the same price point as this hotel (with free parking). I have stayed in many of them. I would recommend at least doing a little comparative analysis before making a decision. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! My fiancé and I stayed here, hoping to relax because it was the one night we have ever been able to have "us time" and have no kids with us and I'm pregnant with twins. I was awake until 2 AM due to noise, so was he. We woke up 5 hours later with broken sleep EXHAUSTED. First off, we had our room switched once that night due to noise and their paper thin walls.. second room was not any better and when we told the next shift about this noise, they came up every time we called to "inspect the noise" but did nothing about it. I will never stay here again.. I would rather stay In Dickson city at the holiday inn where it's quiet. Loudest hotel I've ever stayed in in my life!!! read more

I think I have to rethink any future Hilton stays. The hallway was about 40000 degrees and the hall carpet was gross.
