A nice balcony facing a fountain

There is always upsides and downsides to a hotel being quiet especially one this size. It was a weird feeling walking round such a big hotel with no one in sight, looking across the window to see rows of empty rooms and balconies. That was what it was like on a Friday afternoon. We did get used it and actually enjoyed the quietness and used the opportunity to the explore the gardens and the outdoor in peace. The sound of birds chirping outside became sound of music and located right next to Syon Park, a park full of lush greens, so quiet is what you need. The only other residents we did find were in the public area and I suppose this is when it's an advantage as the gym area was never too crowded and had it's quiet time for us to use the Jacuzzi. The facilities were great. It's not easy to find an indoor pool in a hotel in London. With a gym, a swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and spa room it does provide most of the entertainment lacking in the area. It's nothing too fancy and there is definitely room for improvements. 1.Women's changing room smelt really bad. All the shower gel/shampoo had run out. 2.There was no clear instructions given on how to use the lockers. 3.Although there were water facilities there was no bin to dispose the cups and so collected on the side 4.Chairs beside the pool were made of a lining material that stained white and look really unhygienic to sit on after someone else has. Not like any of these problems were so bad it ruined our experience but for such a high class hotel we expected better. Overall it was a lovely clean hotel, well maintained in the rest of the areas including the gardens where we constantly saw staff water and trim the grass. Room service was done efficiently with all our toiletries and teas replenished. When we had nothing to do it was such a nice wander around the surroundings, along the a path in a nice open field across to this cosy traditional pub called The London Apprentice for a drink. It was right beside the Thames and the view made everything worthwhile. We would have preferred to be given some sort of entertainment and walk guides of the area rather than be told by other guests and by our own two feet. Service did feel a little aloof. There was a nice brightly coloured themed bar called the Peacock Alley at the hotel with live music which we personally found too loud to enjoy each other's company but it was very comfy with it's leather seating and a very friendly bar staff. As the weekend approached it did get busier as we saw the other guests in the breakfast buffet area. I was very happy with the selection with cold platters of cheese, mackerel and cold meats available, different variety of bread loafs, pastries, yogurts, fresh juices, porridge, fruit salads to the hot buffet selection with all the essentials to make up your full English/veg breakfast. You can even request for your eggs to be cooked fresh and pancakes too. They were delicious although staff need to replenish the buffet quicker as a queue formed just waiting upon an empty container. Our Queen deluxe bedroom was great containing a king size bed, nice and firm and enough lighting to have a bright room with the large 42" LCD TV and a smaller one in the shower room. A kettle, iron and hairdryer was all provided and everything in working order. But as night approached we found a light flickering outside and over the three days we were there it was still not fixed. The pillows given were also a bit too soft but it was nice to have a pillow menu to change it. I think what really surprised us was how delicious our 'Posh Nosh pizza' we ordered from room service was. Crust was crispy but still nice and doughy inside with a good amount of stringy cheese on top. Pepperoni was still succulent and meaty and with the anchoives, they perfectly salted the pizza. I also love how the mushrooms were diced so the texture blended into the pizza and really releasing its flavour. A really good pizza so even for £20 after £5 tray fee, it was worth it. Overall the stay was pleasant. The most memorable part would probably always be the pre recording talking corridor which either sends out animal sounds or weird random facts. Staff was pleasant and smiley enough and we got the break we needed. Make sure if you book this hotel pick a place where breakfast is included or it can cost quite a bit. Also this is a hotel for a sleep in as there is not much to do in the area unless you are willing to travel out in which public transport links are very conveniently nearby.

It is the kind of hotel that makes London feel a lot more manageable without sacrificing comfort. This hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the Elizabeth line, which gives you direct access to central London and London Heathrow. The transit connection alone makes this an easy choice if you want a smooth arrival, an easy airport run, or a stress-free commute into the city. The neighborhood is cute and full of charm, and the hotel itself provides a modern space that works well for both business travelers and families. I loved the towels. I never write about towels, but this Holiday Inn Express London Ealing has some of the best towels I have used, honestly beating some five-star hotels. The hotel also offers free breakfast and fast, reliable WiFi, which adds a lot of value. While the hotel does not have a gym on site, there are multiple gyms right next door, so it is still easy to stay on track with your routine. There are also supermarkets and convenience stores nearby, which makes it the perfect spot for a quick layover or a practical London stay. I will definitely come back, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants comfort, convenience, and great value in London.

The decor is sophisticated yet quirky, it all feels very fresh and modern. My bed felt amazing, the room looked wonderful and very luxurious. Breakfast & lunch were lovely and the staff were always very very attentive. The highlights are probably the gorgeous swimming pool and sauna! The cons are that the area is still undergoing construction and there's not really much around. It is however quite easy to get to the underground (Piccadilly line) from here, but I would say it's a really nice place if you want to stay close by to heathrow airport but still have good connection to getting into London. Ealing Common is also quite nearby and has lots of shops, cafes and places to eat around there so you're not that far from the busy hustle of London life. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Having had the misfortune of arriving to the hotel at 7:30 am there were no clean rooms available. I get it, lots of people we're checking it as I arrived. Fast forward to 12:30pm - I'm still sitting in the lobby waiting for their staff to clean a room. The receptionists seem disinterested. They certainly don't give the impression of trying to assist a customer that booked 16 nights (2 people 8 nights each). Day two...sitting in the dining room for twenty minutes before a server walks by and asks me if everything is alright. We'll no, I say...I would like to order a drink and some food. She seems surprised by this! So my review - lovely room; clean, quiet. Otherwise the hotel is forgettable. Poor service; average food; pricey; limited selection of beer. The saga continues...I've been waiting for over an hour for a tomato and basil penne. In the meantime a person who may be the manager on duty came by to asked if I closed out my bill...?! WTH!!!! Still no food! I'm invisible!

First of all, this is in a "dodgy" part of London. It doesn't really seem dangerous (especially…read moreconsidering it's in the UK, and the crime doesn't even compare to the US) but it is known for not being a very nice area. It is run by Indians and there were Indian celebrations every night at the hotel (a wedding one night). If you are looking for luxury, this isn't the place for you. The room and bathroom are basic. The TV only has a couple channels, there is only a small kettle and a few mugs for coffee, and there's no luxury soap or shampoo in the bathroom. However, the bed was HUGE (2 twin beds put together because you could feel the line in the middle), the sheets were nice and clean, and the room was overall quite clean (something that you usually have to worry about with cheaper hotels/ bad areas). It is absolutely NOT worth their posted prices (119 pounds for a single night, which is about $200 right now). However, I booked this hotel on Orbitz for 41 pounds per night (about $60) which is FABULOUS for the London area. I was grateful for a clean place to sleep near London. It is near an Underground station, Heathrow airport, and major highways, so transportation is fairly easy. However, make sure you lock your car and don't expect to get any perks or luxury extras.

Stayed for one night and didn't know the room wouldn't have heating because their "central heat system broke down". They gave us two electrical heaters that weren't even warm enough. Do yourself a favor and don't waste any money here.

Pre-COVID review:…read more Urban Villa is what I would like my ideal apartment to look like: bright, airy, open, and functional. The only downside is that the location is far from the heart of London, so every day, it was an almost 1.5 hour bus ride into the city for sightseeing and fooding. BF would like to chime in that another downside (to him) is doing laundry at night in the basement is a bit creepy since there's no one there, there are no windows, and the mirrors and music at the fitness center right by it can make it seem there might be someone around. On the other hand, the many many plusses include: * kitchen (much better than a kitchenette!) * enclosed balcony / patio area * free laundry machines * decent sized fitness center * Sainsbury's next door * proximity to Kew Gardens (we didn't have time to visit that time, though)

We were in London for 10 days so we wanted a more longer term style of hotel. The room we booked had a living area and full kitchen with a separate bedroom and a large enclosed balcony. The bathroom was large and modern. It felt like an apartment to us. We were able to cook our own meals when we wanted and relax in the living area after sight seeing. On nice days we walked to the tube and the days it was not as nice or we were running late it was easy to get an Uber from here. The price of the hotel was also great. Half of what we would pay in central London. Well worth a stay here

I had to check out without a shower or brushing my teeth, which are things I expect when staying at a hotel. I understand things happen, but my response when bringing it to their attention was that they had it fixed later that day and to basically deal with it. Later in the day isn't helpful if it's not fixed by check out and they could have at least come to try to fix it before check out. I left feeling disregarded as a customer and I don't think it's too much to want a working shower with a hotel room.

The check-in was smooth and efficient. The staff were friendly and worked quickly. The room was clean and had everything that is to be expected (iron, ironing board, TV (old type), safe, mini-bar, water kettle and coffee and tea). The design is not exciting but it was functional. Bed was comfortable and I appreciated the choice of both soft and firm pillows. It was however extremly annoying that they charge outrageous sums for wifi access in the rooms. If it was the 90s that would have been at least understandable but nowadays that is just not ok. The location by Brentford lock is convenient when coming from Heathrow but for tourists who wish to access the more central parts of London there are much better options. It is not very close to any tube or train stations but there are busses departing outside the hotel. Do avoid eating at the restaurant. The food did not impress me.I am not sure whether there are other options in the area that are better but I did seea number of pubs that I would expect to be able to serve up some better food (and probably at better prices). Breakfast was similarly not very good, the selection was decent but quality was not great. All in all still a good choice if you are going to Brentford or the surroinding areas but for other areas in London there are better options.

Years ago The Kew Gardens Hotel (as it was then called) was a blot on Kew's landscape. The only people who drank there were people who wanted to play snooker and the odd person staying in the hotel who couldn't be bothered to stagger down to The Railway a few 100 yards down the road. Now it's all changed - a massive refurbishment in 2004 turned it into a large comfy gastro pub that is friendly and is the place where you can hang out with lots of mates, but you'd also be happy to bring your family for Sunday lunch, dinner or even have a family party there. When you enter it looks like a traditional pub. Lots of comfy sofas, hardy looking bar tables that look like they've been there for a 100 years. There's a blackboard with yummy bar snacks - the house burger rivals GBK burgers not as large but the meat literally melts in your mouth and is served with a delicious tomato relish & rocket (my favourite weed). They also do large club sandwiches, stacks of house chips, and some very tasty hand cooked pork scratchings with apple sauce. Moving to the back of the pub though and it turns into a restaurant or more of a gastro-pub. It's much lighter and airier in the back and has more of a family atmosphere. There's also a really cute beer garden - like the huge hanging baskets outside it's what you would expect of a pub so close to Kew's Botanical Gardens. Everytime, I've eaten here the food's been very good. The menu changes every week and the ingredients are fresh and prepared (usually) very quickly in a busy kitchen, with the staff ringing bells and saying "chef" all the time. There's also a cool mezzanine upper floor with even more leather sofas and a widescreen TV if you feel you have to watch TV. I prefer to sit downstairs with a glass of wine, a burger and a stack of papers, happy in the knowledge that I live a stone's throw from one of the best pubs in Kew.
