It's a nice enough place, if they do better on certain things. Room 414 should be discounted. The air in our room sounded like there was a wind storm outside, or inside. I had to do a noise cancellation app to get to sleep. The shower and bathroom floors were not clean. The TV remote was frustrating. It either wouldn't work, or it would move 2or3 times when I pushed once. All this and breakfast was NOT included. read more

The room was clean and smelled great. The housekeepers we ran into in the corridor were friendly and would ask whether we needed anything. The breakfast was amazing. Josh was the omelette chef and talk about some fluffy eggs! Those were some of the best I've had in my travels! Tess and her kitchen staff were super friendly! Stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott on Ridgemont Dr. while in town for the gun show at the Abilene convention center. Everyone was super friendly, polite, professional, and always making sure we were content with our stay. The bartender, Hannah, was a complete joy to visit with, funny, entertaining, and just an all around sweet young lady. She makes a killer Sugar-free vanilla latte, too. read more

Customer service is a hit or miss depending on who's at the desk but if you just need a room to sleep, this is the place to be. As a Diamond member, I've checked in a couple of times with no perks being offered unless I ask (free water and snacks). Not a big deal but consistency and courtesy can really set an excellent hotel apart- it doesn't matter if it's a 2, 3 or a 5- star dwelling. Rooms seem outdated but I usually stay here for work because of the location. It is close to the grocery store and restaurants. This hotel feels quite safe and I always get a good night's sleep. Can't wait to stay at the new Doubletree hotel in downtown once it opens in 2023. For now, HGI will do. read more

Was in town for the dog show. The staff friendly and very professional. Night clerk had took care of our emergency ( wedding band down the drain) without batting an eye, true professional. Restaurant / bar good drinks and food. Wonderful Bourbon selection Pappy 15 year, Blanton and Weller. Even the manager took time to chat with us. The hotel is clean and well kept. Don't stay here if you want a good night's rest. Night one: after being greeted by a wonderful, informative hostess, I was excited about my stay - until, the night before Thanksgiving, I was woken up to the sound of water POURING out of the bathroom ceiling. I had to alert staff apparently unaware of the flooding. (There were flyers about construction on two bathroom doors, but the water pouring out of the bathroom ceiling did not look related to any "renovations.") Then I needed to franticly pack my things before they were soaked and move to another room. But because I was relocated only two doors down, noise from custodial staff and maintenance attempting to stop and remedy the flood made it impossible to sleep. Night 3: the fire alarm for the entire building went off at 5 am. Once again in a state of terror I repacked my belongings in the middle of the night! Checkout: the manager asked me how my stay was although she clearly did NOT care. When I told her I was in the room that flooded and was surprised again by the fire alarm, she deflected that everyone heard the fire alarm and offered NO acknowledgment of or apology for the disturbances. No refund or credit was offered contrary to the manager's response below. The management at this hotel has serious problems. Do not expect a quiet night here or any sort of honest consolation even if you pay full price, your room floods, and a false fire alarm wakes you from your slumber. read more

The room was nice and clean however no shampoo, soap or any other regular items you would find in your room. Digital keys didn't work so we had to make two trips to the front desk to get into our room. Breakfast has a ton of options and well stocked at 7 but by 9 not so much. The dinning area tables were clean but the floors definitely needed some attention. The hotel is very pretty but attention to detail is lacking and the customer service makes you feel like they don't want you there. read more

This hotel is under construction. Don't stay here unless you enjoy the sound of a jack hammer. Also, they are training new workers and the new workers are both incompetent and rude. FUCK THIS PLACE. We had planned on having a little birthday celebration by the pool, not realizing their pool closed down a couple of years ago. Since this location has no pool we ended up having cake in the lobby. It was still a great time and the front desk staff was so kind and even wrote a sweet note and a little gift for our sweet girl! Excellent service! read more

I have called and spoke to Hilton Garden Inn Abilene several times now and they continue to reassure me that they are working the issue from my stay from 14 Mar to 19 Mar 23. I booked through a third party and paid through the third party (USAA Member). I was then double charged Texas taxes individually for EACH night that I stayed in the hotel on top of already paying taxes through the third party. Hilton Garden Inn has repeated stated that they are working the issue but it has now been over a month and I STILL have not been reimbursed the $99.68. As a prior Platinum member this is appalling that this has taken so long to be addressed. I am still waiting on my refund for $99.68. This is ridiculous for this to go this long. read more

All we did was charge our Tesla. The desk staffer was very nice and pleasant. She welcomed us to charge up around the back at a Tesla charger. It worked quickly and effectively. We were out of there in about 30 minutes, with enough charge to make it home to Horseshoe Bay. TX. Thank you Hilton. We ARE Honors members, but they didn't need to see the card. Just welcomed us. I don't know how this hotel has any good reviews. The rooms are like cheap run down motel rooms but they charge 4 star hotel prices. The rooms smell damp and like old cigarette smoke. The first room was so bad I had to ask to switch rooms because our baby was coughing. The second was still bad but we were too tired to find another hotel. They also didn't honor the price we had reserved the room for and when the lady at the front desk repeatedly tried to contact the manager, she wasn't able to get hold of anyone. Hilton Garden Inn have always been my "go to" spot when we travel. I have one we use all the time in San Diego so thought we would try here while moving across country and needing a nice place to stay for the night. They did not disappoint. We showed up a little bit early but were still able to check into one of our rooms which was very helpful since we had dogs with us and I needed to put medication away in the fridge for them. They were very accommodating, helpful and professional. The WiFi worked perfectly, the pool has towels so you do not need to use the clean ones from your room. The rooms were very spacious and included a microwave and small fridge. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We did have the room with the sofa bed but did not use it so I'm not sure how comfortable it is. They also have a small area where you can purchase anything you might feel the need for (candy bars, snacks, drinks, etc). The breakfast was wonderful! They had "red and blue" French toast to honor the forth of July, bacon, sausage, Potatoes, scrambled eggs, omelets, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal with toppings, and more. They make hot items to order and even bring it out to you, including a pancake the size of your head if you choose lol. Drinks included the typical juice, milk and coffee but also had a selection of soda behind the bar that the server would bring you. I believe you have to select to include your breakfast with this hotel room when booking so there might be a difference in cost but it's worth it if you come here. The only thing they are missing that some other locations have is the free "social nights", but they do offer food for purchase with their restaurant instead. read more

Front Desk folks could not have been nicer. The new policy of not cleaning rooms every 3d day however is absurd in general and at these prices. To see this communicated (which I missed) by a tiny slip of paper in my wifi envelope was unacceptable. To return to my dirty room at days end, no towels etc honestly I wanted to just lose it. The noise in the room at night seemd like paper thin walls.....constant thumping above every night (2nd floor) Ill be traveling to Abilene a lot and would otherwise stay here but to spend 3 days close to $380 and I'm going to have dirty room? Stayed here at the start of Covid spreading in USA 3/2020. Just notice this review was still a draft. The staff was very friendly, attentive and clean. The customers and staff were all concerned as the unknown Covid-19 was unfolding in front of us. This was the weekend toilet paper ran out of toilet paper in the whole area in one day. It was the very beginning. The staff kept up everything and one staffer prayed with those who wanted to before breakfast. This was the second or third time for us to stay at this hotel. Came out to Abilene for a family emergency and stayed at the nearest hotel. I've always been a big fan of Hilton hotels but this one slipped on some standards. I was in room 227 and the bed was a little worn down. There was a unforgiving dip that made for an uncomfortable sleep. Other than that the room was pretty fair. Bathroom came with Neutrogena products and clean towels. The gym and indoor pool were good and well equipped for what you need in a hotel. I was a little surprised with paying for a standard hotel breakfast buffet (eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles and fruits). I could be wrong but I believe the other Hilton hotels I've stayed at didn't have to pay for that..? Overall, well kept, friendly staff and good environment. read more

The room had blood on the toilet seat, the door, and the side of the door frame in the bathroom. Also, the back of the bathroom door was COVERED in dust. It takes a long time for that to happen. When we were there the bathroom apparently was leaking to the bottom floor so maintenance came to inquire. The front desk girls was super nice, I'll give them that, but the property is in shambles. We normally stay at holiday inns but they were booked up. Management really need to invest in a better cleaning crew. I almost threw up seeing all that blood. I gave2 stars rather than 1 because the front desk girls were super nice. read more

I thought i was back in the Hilton Garden Inn in Baltimore when I walked into this one, then I realized that they probably build all of their hotels within the chain to a similar floor plan. Fairly standard 3 star hotel, no surprises there. The lady that checked me in was named Tammy, I believe. She was polite and took the time to explain the amenities to me. One that I was not expecting was the fact that there is an actual gym in the shopping center next door, and that hotel guests can show their room key to get it. This was awesome, because hotel gyms typically suck, and this one is no exception. That said, i'll give them credit that their dumbbells go up to 60 lbs. read more

Best hotel we've stayed at in Abilene!! Parking lot is too small but that's not really important. The hotel is very clean and the staff is so nice. The rooms are super clean and the beds are ok. Pillows are not that comfy but then again you can ask for better pillows. The restrooms are so clean and the towels are fluffy and super clean. We have stayed in at comfort suites and they stick so bad and customers service is awful that we decided to NEVER stay at any comfort inns anymore. This Hilton is like being at home. I highly recommend it just because of the friendliness, cleanliness, comfortness and location. Best hotel in Abilene!!! read more

Breakfast was grand and the staff there outstanding. However, Patrica made it all nil. I was accosted by Patricia and told that I had to leave because I had a service animal. She told me that the property didn't allow dogs. I educated her about federal regulations but she still insisted that we leave. Patricia told me that I didn't look blind and that pit bulls can't be service animals (I have a chocolate lab). I asked for the manger but Ben was at home and refused to speak with me. This is a swanky place. We just stayed one night which was very brief so we didn't experience the breakfast but I can tell ya it looked nice from a distance. Fireplace and comfy chairs in the lobby, spacious room with king bed. Girls, shampoo/conditioner was from Neutrogena (men, this is important). Room was clean. Coffee lovers will love the K-Cup coffee maker. Two complementary water bottles in the mini fridge. In all my 38 years, I've never stayed in a hotel that offered free cold water bottles. My only complaint was the noise level. It was a Friday night and we were on the 4th floor. I think bad, unruly children should be banned to the first floor. I'm pretty sure the mothers let them play tag in the hallway while they sipped on their beers. The beer is confirmed since we shared an elevator with said unruly children. I did not want to have to leave a bad review for this hotel. My wife, daughter and I traveled to Abilene from Dfw to see my brother. We were only staying for one night but wanted to stay at the Hilton that was near my where my brother was staying. Everything about the hotel was great: the receptionist that checked us in, the free cookies and coffee in the lobby and the room. Even the workout facility was nice. I woke up on Sunday morning and used the workout facility before we had lunch plans with the fam. I went to our room to take a hot shower but we had none. I let the water run for several minutes and then I called the front desk. I was told that the maintenance guy was not at the facility but that they would send housekeeping to adjoining rooms and try to get the temperature of the water up in our room. I tried explaining that the water was not just cool, but cold. I'll take a lukewarm shower but I was not in the mood for a cold shower. The receptionist also informed me that the MOD was not in today either. So, we checked out. The receptionist, as helpful as she was trying to be, was not very helpful. She informed us that, because we booked through Expedia, there was nothing she could do. Frustrating. She gave me the GM's card and we departed. I emailed the GM that very day to express my concern. I, then, gave him two business days to respond, but he has failed to do so. I'm not sure what I expected him to say, but failing to say anything is unsatisfactory. I am very disappointed in the property. First world problems, I know - no hot water. I'm not being petty, but I expect a provider to hold up their end of an agreement and when they don't, I expect the manager to be sympathetic - unfortunately that did not happen. read more

Very nice hotel, and no surprises for the Hilton Garden Inn brand (which my husband and I often choose). My husband and I stayed here in early January 2015, after attending a family reunion. We arrived in Abilene a little early after leaving Hamilton at 9:00 am. The hotel was very easy to find...we actually stumbled across it without even realizing it. Sitting in the Albertson's parking lot behind the hotel, I called to see if they would let us check in at 1:00 pm (it was just after noon at the time, and normal check in is 2:00 pm). I was happy to hear that we could check in right away - great customer service from the front desk staff who answered the phone. The hotel was clean, well decorated and everyone was so nice. Check-in went smoothly, and our room was spotless when we got up there. We were on the top (fourth) floor, so no worries about hearing people walking across the ceiling. We had reservations for lunch at nearby Perini Ranch, but later that afternoon/evening, we were a little peckish and decided to check out the area around the hotel. They have several nice restaurants in the area, with a Popeye's right next door ("Popeye's fried chicken is the shizznet!"), and a Buffalo Wild Wings right next to that. We decided to give the bar a try later on after dinner, and had a great time there (football game was on the big screen and everyone was watching). While the restaurant/bar area is smallish, and is pretty much right out there in the lobby, it was comfortable, and they had a good selection of wine, beer, and mixed drinks. We didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food, but the menu did look good. Overall, we would definitely choose to stay there again if we're in the Abilene area. read more

I checked in w/o a reservation. The staff was nice. The lobby looked great...very updated, very fresh. Nice bar. My issues? Two of them: condition of the room and price. My room wasn't nearly as updated as the lobby. The bed was comfortable, but the furniture and décor were out of synch with the lobby. It didn't have a TV remote. Most troubling: the bathroom wasn't clean. Lots of hair on the floor (yes, BEFORE I got there). This included the dreaded "curly-pube" variety around the toilet. The price was out of line for the quality of the room. After tax, over $200. Not a good value at all, especially considering they charge for breakfast. read more

Nope. Not for us, and I wouldn't recommend it, to you. While the location is convenient (edge of town, near a mall, Starbuck's, etc.,), the staff and cleanliness level are sorely lacking. We checked in on a Friday afternoon at 5:00. One might consider that Prime Time, with a clean lobby, stocked and ready to go, right? Not here. The complimentary coffee bar had empty pots and trash piled up (because the two trash cans under the table were spilling onto the floor). Two front-desk people were standing behind the counter, overlooking it all. We checked in, changed clothes and left for a wedding. Came back five hours later, and the same trashcans, empty cups, empty pots, etc., STILL there. Wow. The room (#314) was gross, too. Overwhelming and constant odor -- initially thought we'd followed a heavy hairspray user, but the longer we smelled it, it became maple syrup. We think someone may have spilled vaporizer fluid, or something. It never went away, and permeated all our clothing. Bathroom in need of re-tiling, in the worst way -- mildew that I could easily clean with a stiff brush and some cleanser. Piles of dust/who-knows-what in the corners ... No one here is trying. We went to the pool and hot tub on Saturday morning, around 10:00, and there were standing pools of warm water in nearly every corner of the indoor room. Visible hair balls on the floor, and generally just grimy. Don't believe anyone had swept and mopped in there, in a very, very long time. The bed was fine. Had to call and go down and get a blanket for the pull-out sofabed, as it came only with sheets. Pass. read more

I stayed here with my family ( 2 adults and kids) and they are NOT a family friendly hotel. They complained about my baby walking around in the room, refused to give us the towels we needed, and then called us twice to criticize needing one towel each. They are not good with customer service. The room was not at all like the pictures. It is not cleaned very well. My son found blood stains on his sheets. The sheets they had in the closet were moldy smelling and wet. Safe yourself the issues and stay at another hotel. read more

Booked my room through Priceline & was lucky enough to get this hotel. Huge room with a flat screen television, desk, & lounge chair. They also have an indoor heated pool with a jacuzzi. Absolutely beautiful lobby & awesome place to stay while in town!!! read more

What a pleasant experience! Our family of four stayed for one night while visiting some family and we wish we could have extended our stay. From the moment we stepped in the building the staff couldn't have been any nicer. They were the kind of friendly that you can't fake-so genuine. Our room was clean, comfy and we slept like babies. For breakfast we ate their made-to-order meals. Waffles, pancakes, omelets, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit...although we were given vouchers for the meal we gladly would have paid $8.95 a person. It was well worth the price. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive. Noticing that we had 5 children in our party they went out of their way to grab us EVERYTHING we might have needed. They went above and beyond. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! We can't wait to come back!! read more

I'm giving 3 stars because at least they gave me a new room. I stayed at this hotel and as always I checked the bed before getting into it. I immediately noticed the sheets had not been switched from the night before. I found food stains, pubic hair and other bodily hairs. This was all at 10:30pm. I immediately went to the front desk and explained the situation. The woman seemed annoyed and more busy talking to someone else about non hotel business. She then asked again if I would like a new room and I laughed. She then put me into a new room. I am a Gold Honors member and have been Diamond in years past. I never ask for anything avove and beyond but finding pubes and food stains is insane. I'll try the Marriott down the street next time I visit Abilene. read more
