Very nice staff. Beds are great, pillows are feather, and foam. Room was clean and the normal layout. Pool was green. It's been hot so that was unusable. Needed it for some physical therapy exercises so that's a reason that we booked 5 nights but not a deal breaker. Couldn't get a salad during our stay, the produce order didn't come. We ordered out and could warm up in the little microwave and store some things in the mini fridge. Like most hotels, the supplies are minimal. There were 6 tissues wadded up in the top of the box, nothing beneath, so we had to go ask for a box of those with allergies kicked up in the Texas heat. Pre-requested additional pillows due to a medical condition but didn't receive them before bed, no problem, we went down and asked for those at the desk. The walls are paper thin, to the point I could hear a full conversation in normal tones in the next room. Same with people talking in the hallway. The sink was cracked and the commode took multiple flushes to work. The bathroom lighting was dim and there was no way to operate the toilet/shower room light without also turning on the very noisy exhaust fan. read more

We had to plan around getting roaches when staying at this Marriott in room 209.. It's filthy watching baby roaches crawl on the room table like they own the hotel. It would be different if we weren't paying Insane prices to sleep with roaches. Make that make sense. Never letting anyone I know stay here again. read more

This place seriously needs some attention! While the lobby is remodeled and updated, that's where the nice ends. The carpet in the hallways looks dirty and worn. The furniture in my suite room was dirty and stained. It's definitely seen some rough days and I'd be embarrassed to use this as one of my better rooms. The outside landscape and plantings are either dead or in the process of dying. The visible sprinkler heads are obviously not being used. The plus is.....the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Chose this hotel on a recent trip to Abilene for my car club to spend some time in the area. We arrived just after dark and appreciated the adjacent food options. There was some initial computer issues at the desk upon check in; not that big of a deal. Staffers at the desk were quite attentive as we had some beers while we waited for others to get settled in. Trendy open space that houses a bistro, business center, and family area. Access to the pool complete with grill was a nice touch. We ended up heading over to the adjacent Tex-Mex joint for dinner. My room was quite nice and even included a balcony that I didn't expect. Some could be put off by the elevator immediately to the left of the 3rd floor door. Didn't hear a sound all night...OK that could have been the alcohol working. Didn't use the free wifi because I always bring my own. Biggest issue and my reason for a one star deduction was a girl. My party of 8 attempted to retire into the media area only to find a girl laying on the area we wanted to occupy. Paying guest of the hotel was fine; turned out to be an employee's child (teenager) with her shoes off playing on her cell phone. I get it; times are tough and you have to watch your children. We ended up (because she had NO intention of moving) swinging nearly half the furniture around in the room so we could group up before we retired for the evening. Only reason I knew she was local is she started picking up the lobby collecting menus at 10 or 11. Give your patrons a break; don't fire the mom. I would rate it higher but the pool has been closed during the entirety of my stay and booked here because I wanted a pool. Also the bistro is never opened when it is supposed to be open. I get it that if they are slow they close early but I have been here 5 nights and closes at 930 or 830 at night instead of 10. Room was clean. Appreciated netflix etc access on the tv. Towels and bedding nice and clean. Housekeeping is doing a great job. The lobby restrooms are clean. Upon check-in the woman behind the counter was too busy on a cell phone call that sounded personal. She kept removing her mask for her call. She knew we were waiting, it didn't matter. A man was also there but was doing something. He noticed we were getting ready to leave and finally checked us in. If I hadn't already paid I'd have left. I stayed here over a weekend for a conference and I was very pleasantly surprised. I had stayed at the hotel next door previously and had a bad experience, so I wasn't sure if it was an Abilene thing or a that-hotel thing, but it's definitely NOT an Abilene thing. Hotel staff was incredible - very courteous and efficient. Room was spotless and super comfortable. I had a flatbread and an appetizer from the bar downstairs and while the flatbread was fine (not bad, really) the app was awesome. Roasted Brussels sprouts with Parmesan and lemon juice, served with garlic aioli, and the small portion (which was huge) was only $5. Yum. Had one small hiccup the day I checked out (toilet backed up - I think the plumbing is pretty old, the bathroom was the only part of the room that looked older) and the staff apologized immediately and offered me breakfast or coffee on the house for my trouble. I didn't dock a star because things happen, and the way the staff responded was fantastic. I will definitely be back again next time! Oh - forgot to add - breakfast was actually pretty good. They had fresh scrambled eggs (definitely not powdered- they were very tasty) and sausage, home fries, oatmeal with fixins, bread for toast and yogurt and fruit, with coffee and OJ. The full price for the buffet was $10, so a little steep, but the food was really fresh and tasty. read more

The super nice people is a must to experience in this region, and a very professional, super nice services! Their king size room is spacious, comes with affordable prices and with super clean carpets, which seems to me new. Most importantly, the beds are extremely comfortable. I woke up with a very refreshed body and mind after a long travel from Cali. We got 2 rooms. We checked in at 9:30am on the app like it asked. As we were driving there we let them know we were arriving at 3:30 so a 3pm check in time should be perfect. When we arrived neither of our rooms were ready. After my wife argued for 10min, all of a sudden 1 of our rooms were ready. We went up to our room and waited. And waited. And waited. We didn't get our second room key until 5:30pm. When we asked why it took so long we were told "Well, we had to clean it." It says check out is at noon and check in is at 3. So I'm not sure why there was such a gap in check out to cleaning to available. All that to say... I will definitely not be staying at this one again. Oh, and the #1 elevator didn't go up to the 3rd or 4th floor. You have to call it down, send it up to the 2nd floor, then when it starts to go up hit the button for the #2 elevator to come down. This place is a joke. It's a brand new building and it's busted with bad equipment and bad employees. Well, at least rude front desk ladies. GO TO ANOTHER HOTEL. SAVE YOUR $$$!!! read more

Check in is at 3:00 pm. We arrived at 6:00 pm and had to wait 30+ minutes for our room to be "cleaned". The man at the front desk said he needed to give us our towels. We got 1 towel and 1 bath mat for 2 adults and 2 children. We called down around 8:30pm because there was no bedding for the twin bed pullout couch. We were told it would be up in 10 minutes. I finally went to the lobby at nearly 10:00pm, and had to call for the guy who was sitting in the back. I told him we called down and nobody ever came. He said "Oh yeah, Ooops." He gave me 1 flat sheet for a king bed and a blanket. The next day we asked for housekeeping to "freshen up the room" as they said housekeeping was by request only. When we returned the following night at 8:45 from being out all day, housekeeping hadn't been in, and when my wife went to shower she noticed there was no shampoo or conditioner. When she went to the desk to ask for towels, soap, and about the housekeeping. The desk attendant said they had no shampoo, and she wasn't sure why housekeeping hadn't stopped by, but she would make a note for them to do it the next day. It didn't matter as we were leaving the next day. I had to go buy shampoo at 9:00pm so my wife and kids could shower. When we asked when the manager would be there so we could speak to them, we were given a business card with the info for the GM, we will pass our complaints on to her, but we will definitely NOT be staying here again. I understand being understaffed, but for me there are certain expectations. Especially with what they charge for a room. read more

Having just stayed at the next door hotel (Elegante) this doesn't even compare! The staff is professional, polite and helpful. The rooms are nice, clean and no smoke smell in this hotel. Housekeeping is about average but everything else is above average. The property is well located near the mall, Walgreens, target and restaurants. The only drawback is that its loud. You can hear people talking above you, next door of course in the halls. Perhaps not the best hotel when traveling with a baby. read more

Joleen at the Courtyard by Marriott in Abilene went way beyond the call of duty for us this morning when we were locked out of our car. Joleen found a great locksmith (Abilene Locksmith) for us. Joleen also was friendly and professional and helpful in every way. We were also impressed with the other staff -- the Bistro staff, everyone at the front desk, and the housecleaners. This hotel has connecting rooms and is across the street from the mall in Abilene. Our rooms were clean and everyone was nice. read more

We stayed 2 nights Thursday and Friday 07-15-21-07-16-21. Upon check in at about 11:30 pm we were greeted by a less than friendly representative. We quickly found that the elevator was broken. This is an old property in desperate need of repair. This is not a Marriott level Hotel. It's dirty and musty and in desperate need of an update. We went to bed as we needed to be up at 6:00 the next morning. When we woke we found or room was very very dirty. The shower had women's hair in the shower on the sink and floor. My wife found an old string cheese behind the curtain. The patio had so much bird feces on it it was completely unusable. I will post the pictures we took. This property in my opinion should be sold to an more appropriate chain like America's Best value or OYO. The next morning I informed the manager who didn't seem surprised or concerned. I told her I would be writing a review of the property and she said she was only an assistant manager and would call the GM. When we returned an attempt had been made to clean. Bleach Cleaner was used with a heavy smell and film left on everything. We used Marriott for all our travels. Never ever have we stayed and a worse property than this one. Charged three separate times for one reservation. Very poorly staffed. Hotel needs a renovation badly. Sheets and pad had no more elastic left and would not stay on bed. Toilet clogged up. Called front desk for maintenance to come check it out and was told "you can come get a plunger and try it". I have never been asked to plunge my own toilet!! Room cleanliness was lacking. I stayed at this hotel for an impromptu day trip a couple hours from home. Got a great deal for the room online, and was very impressed. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She mentioned that she had been working since 7am (it was nearly 8pm when I got there) but even as exhausted as she was, she was at the top of her game. The room was large and clean. The fitness center was most impressive. Three, good quality treadmills, two ellipticals, and a variety of weights and benches. Would definitely recommend. read more

We used the Priceline app and paid for the Express Deals, which you don't know which hotel it is until you paid for it. It's always a hit or miss with these Express Deals. I got to say, once we got into our room at this hotel, I was amazed. The room was so nice for us. We had no problems. Of course you can hear nearby guests's doors closed but that's about it and it's not often. We had a king size bed. Couch was cool. The bathroom was big enough to not make me feel claustrophobic. Stayed here for a wedding and even with a discount it was very overpriced for the experience we had. Got to the hotel after 5pm and even though check in was at 3pm, it still wasn't ready and we had to wait 40 minutes. The iron was dirty, the fridge didn't work, whenever we called to the desk no one answered. People were nice and I don't blame the workers, but the room wasn't clean (marks on the floors, shower had stains). It's obviously understaffed and a lot of things in it have not been updated or replaced in years. read more

This being my last trip to Abilene for the unforeseeable future, I thought it'd be fitting to do a review on this Courtyard at Abilene. I must have stayed here 20+ separate times the past 3 years. The GOOD: -- The staff is super friendly and nice. They always greet the customers with a smile and make sure everyone feels welcomed. -- The beds are super comfy. The beds aren't as nice as the Renaissance but more comfy than some of the Marriotts I've stayed at. -- The cost is very reasonable. Rate has been between $79 to $129. -- The hotel is in close proximity to plenty of things like movies, restaurants (sit-down and fast-food), Abilene Mall, Target, Sporting Goods Store, Office Depot, etc....... -- The gym isn't super nice but it gets the job done. -- You get both HBO and Starz, in addition to the basic cable channels. The Not-So-Good: -- An outdoor pool would be nice since Abilene gets quite hot in the summer. I like laying out in the sun and taking naps. -- The AC/Heater in the rooms can get quite loud. -- For whatever reason, NBC goes down quite a bit. The picture is fine but sound is non-existent a lot. This hotel had become my home-away-from-home whenever I was in Abilene. Kind of sad to know that I'll mostly likely never be back. I'm a Marriott reward member, I stay at a Marriott at lest once every month, this courtyard is not good They call me the morning before my arrival to ask me if I was coming because they need it my room because they were sold out, i never answer phone numbers I don't know so just by chance I got my room because I answered. I did my check in on the Marriott app requesting extra pillows and towels. When I pick up my key on front desk I ask the lady for my pillows she was not nice and said she didn't have any request, and that she did in have any extra nothing. My room had a smell didn't look clean. Next day they had a horrible breakfast buffet for $10. People on this hotel is not nice! read more

House keeping doesn't clean the room they change the sheets, take out the trash, and you will be lucky to get new towels. I checked in and there were urine stains all over the toilet from the previous occupants. Not to mention my shower didn't drain and the handle to the sink fell off. Do not stay in this hotel if you are anything but super conservative. I heard the Marriott family were very conservative, but they efficiently blanked out MSNBC on the TV. The substituted the FOX channel. I am serious. Did they think no one would notice? Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast very good. The "gym" is small and dingy and 2/4 aerobic machines were broken. I plan to let MSNBC know and also contact corp Marriott -- like they would really care. read more

Typical Courtyard. Nothing fancy. Room was clean. Sheets, towels, pillows, bed were clean and soft. Didn't have that "hotel" smell (you know what I'm talking about...like you washed it but didn't use soap). Staff was courteous. Check in was quick. Only thing I don't like about Courtyard is that since there is a Starbucks inside you never get free coffee. It's worth it to me to go down the street and get a cup from somewhere else as I don't care for SB coffee. read more

Where I think the staff went beyond there call of duty,, is that Crystal, the assistant manager gifted us a bottle of wine. To me this shows that the staff is involved and cares. The hotel is just alright. I was expecting nicer. The good: Reception was friendly and nice. The gym was small but efficient. The bad: The sheets were very low thread count. It felt like i was on sandpaper all night. The nasty surprise: Are hotels not doing continental breakfasts anymore. O call this the nasty surprise rather han putting it on my bad list because it did NOT state anything about breakfast when I booked the room, so that is on me. But since when did hotela stop dping this? It ised to be my favorite thing at hotels. Next time I'll try the Hampton. So Marriot still wins. read more

This hotel is fine for a guy traveling on business. If your wife is with you, you will find the standard Courtyard bathrooms too small. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Hotel lobby is recently renovated, but the hotel itself still feels and smells old. While overall clean, my room had stains on the carpet and scuff marks on the wall. My bathroom shower didn't drain at all, which I will be reporting at check-out. Staff was friendly though. This hotel was alright on the surface, but over careful review it feels "used." I like to feel pampered, and I am not even talking about fancy, especially if I am paying for a room. If I ever come back to Abilene, I will be checking into a newer and nicer hotel. Compared to where we are from this place had excellent rates. Excellent service. Front desk man helped make sure I got a luggage cart when I needed and when my efforts couldn't locate one. We stayed here for my son's wedding. The location is perfect any store is close by. They are very accommodating and friendly. My mother wasn't feeling well so I went to lobby/restaurant area to buy crackers. They didn't have any but staff member, Wendell gave me some of his with well wishes for my mother. When I got home I noticed charges for the restaurant I did not make. I called them and they said they would pull receipts and call me back. They called me back within 1 & 1/2 hours with an answer, an apology and a very quick reimbursement. The room and bathroom were clean, beds were comfortable, and everything worked. read more
