First thing you notice coming into this hotel is how clean and inviting this place is. The front desk attendees were welcoming and very professional, greeted you with a smile. The lounge area was very inviting. Elevator was clean too. I was able to use my key card without struggling. The room was clean, bathroom was clean,our shower was clogged when we got there, we asked them to fix it, they didn't show up the same day because of a miscommunication, but the next day they were on it. The beds were nicely made. There were plenty of towels. If I had one complaint is that the pool was closed for 2 out the 3 days we were there. I liked that you needed a hotel key card to get inside the pool area. It was very private. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

The best staff at check in. Great location and plenty of Diamond member parking. They were so nice to my dog! There's a dog relief station to the left of the front door so it's very convenient and feels safe. The emergency stairs are a great option if you don't want elevator. My favorite part was the coffee station that also included teas, in particular chamomile. Breakfast is easy with eggs, bacon, fruit, plenty of basic options, they also have hot sauce and 2% milk. There are togo bags ready with a breakfast option at the front desk if you are rushing out. The area is big and has a fireplace also with big couches. They have hand sani and wipies within reach at every floor, what a way to go above and beyond for us. The do not disturb pet door signs are adorable. Inside the elevator, they have a list of things to do while you're in town. I recommend the Frontier Texas! center on your way out of town. Overall the room was great and affordable, with a whirl tub, coffee maker, fridge, microwave and a couch. They have ramen if you get lazy and don't want to get dinner. read more

My wife and I have stayed at the Hampton Inn on West Lake Rd several times already and each experience is a great one. We enjoy the greeting when we check in with two cold waters and some snacks as I am a silver member status or whatever. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious. The ice machines on each floor are always working, there are power plugs for charging your devices next to the bed on each side. There are plenty of light fixtures, we get a microwave, mini fridge and I even got a free razor at the front desk as I forgot to pack one. There are also pet amenities outside the front of this hotel location which makes it great to take care of our doggie. The trolley's are kept by the front door and are readily available to use. The staff here, including the house keepers are super friendly and have always treated us with respect. And then there is the breakfast, it's always very good as we fill our bellies each morning. This Hampton Inn is also somewhat close to the Tx State Veteran's Cemetery which we frequent when we are in town to visit my wife's parents graves. I had placed a reservation with Priceline for this hotel. Heading to my IRS conference in Dallas. Due to accidents and road construction I wasn't able to make my reservation. Priceline and myself called the hotel to inform them of my situation and cancel reservation. Unfortunately the staff never answered their phones. Priceline and I continued calling them. Unfortunately they charged me for a no show. Spoke to the manager very rude individual she actually called the Priceline staff and myself liars. This is a decent hotel and maybe by Summer 2017 they will finish renovations and it will move up to good. It would take a major overhaul to make this place great. If you are used to Hampton Inns you will find all the perks expected, a pool, free breakfast, a bottle of water and so on. The rooms have deep mattresses that make two in a bed awkward. The sounds of your neighbors will come through the walls easily to keep you from feeling lonely; and also from sleeping. Breakfast was poor. Really over cooked fake eggs, fruit ruined by an added glaze of corn sweetener and no paleo food to be found. Thankfully there is a Denny's across the street! People working here are all friendly to a person. It's that over powering friendly common in the south. The kind that scares the begeebees out of native New Yorkers no matter how long we have lived in the south. Thankfully there are double locks on the doors. read more

Room smells like smoke and this has by far been the worst stay this year at any Hilton property for me. There are many options in Abilene but since I switched over to Hilton this year from Marriott I decided to give this a go. What a disappointment. Will not be back. read more

Nice Hampton off of I-20 in Abilene. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms-- excellent breakfast. You can tell this is a recently remodeled Hampton- this site has been around for a while but the refresh on furnishings and paint are definitely noticed. Only issue I had was with front desk- I switched credit cards and they told me I may have to check again when I checked out. I thought this was unusual and she said "you can do what you want I'm just saying it might be an issue at check out." Subsequently I found out that this hotel authorized my card 4 times for the whole stay- close to $900-1000. Whenever I bought a snack for my son, instead of charging me 5.50, they charged me a $250 authorization. If I was close to my limit or if this was a visa debit card this could have been a gigantic issue. I called the next day, person answered the call said that shouldn't have happened- and the authorizations should just fall off. Again-- GREAT property, but front desk issues can ruin your perspective of a stay. Be vigilant and pay cash for snacks at the front desk. Check your card too when they check you in, they have authorization issues. read more

Then when I proceeded to put the item items I wanted to buy back was accused of throwing things. This little Hispanic man then proceeded to follow me and watch me as I went back to my room which was on the first floor .when I turned around to ask what's the problem he proceeded to say "I got you bro" which I then said "I got you too bro " what a little man. I'm sorry but I will never stay in another Hilton affiliated hotel in Abilene Texas again! read more

We stayed here for a couple days before I moved into college. The room does not look or smell clean, and everything feels sticky. We were going to bed last night and my mom found what she has dubbed "the pee pillow," it is yellow and does not look like it has been cleaned in years. To top things off we are currently not able to flush our toilet and haven't been able to for the past few hours because they have a water leak. We are very disappointed in our stay and this hotel looks like it is barely hanging on. read more

We were in town for a college soccer camp for my son. I thought my wife had reserved the newer Hampton in Abilene, but it was fine since it was less expensive and we used some points. The area was kinda gross as there were motels surrounding it. We had stayed here so many years ago and this property was gross so I was bracing myself. You could tell it was in the process of a remodel so that was nice. We arrived to check in early and the lady put her keys and phone down in slight frustration because I think she was trying to take a smoke break...remember that. Anyways, I get checked in and they had to give me a different room because the one I picked on the app wasn't ready. It was fine. Once we got to the elevators, the hotel started smelling funny. Idk..maybe dirty? Not too sure. But whatever. It is what it is. Room was fine. Also smelled funny. Maybe fresh-ish paint? Idk, but anyways we get settled in and leave to watch our kid play. The lady at the desk was on a smoke break. We didn't need anything, but no one was there. Come back later that evening and the new person holding greets us as we're walking in..she was outside smoking. Saturday we stay in the majority of the day and sleep as we were drained from the prior day's events. Smoke break again for the lady at the desk. Super nice lady though, I will say. I had to take a call before we got in to our vehicle so we did a lap around the hotel and saw one of the cleaning ladies out there...also taking a smoke break. Nice lady as she greeted us once in the hotel. Anyways, Sunday comes and time to check out. The girl at the front desk (who was the only desk person I saw not ever take a smoke break) needed help to run the correct card. She was super nice and said as soon as her manager came in she'd get it fixed for us and give us a call. We see the charge come through our bank so looks like they figured it out. Gives us a call and says they took care of it. About an hour or so later we get another random charge of $160+ dollars from the Hampton Inn. We call them and they claim that we smoked in our room so we are being charged $150 (plus tax) for a smoking fee!! We do not smoke and if we did would NEVER smoke inside a hotel room. What is this? 1986? I can only imagine a staff that's full of smokers (not that there's anything wrong with that) saying someone smoked in their room. Perhaps they just finished a smoke break or talking to someone that just finished a smoke break so maybe they smelled fresh smoke?! We called and they refused to reverse the charge. Insane. I've been staying exclusively at Hilton properties for work or person travel for over 20 years and have NEVER had this happen to us. Even at times when I have been to places that have heavy smokers outside or inside (maybe a cigar bar or something) where I come back smelling like I smoke regularly and nothing, no extra random smoking charge. I used to be a diamond member and to see that I would get this treatment in Abilene, TX where based on the specific area this hotel was I may need to go get a tetanus shot, the nerve of them to randomly charge us a smoking fee. By default I had to give them one star, and besides the very end where they refused to reverse the charge after saying "it just smells like you smoked" with no concrete proof, they earned the 1 star because everyone was nice..they can't help that they're probably forced to charge this a few times a weekend just to be able to continue their renovations. Be warned. Take the extra 8-12 minutes and stay somewhere else..try a Marriott perhaps, but avoid this property like the plague that it is! read more

I made a reservation for this place online through the Hampton Inn website. Word of advice- order the room via the website of Hampton than though second party websites such as Expedia, it's much cheaper through Hampton. Upon arriving the entrance and first floor is beautiful, very clean and pristine. Front desk was very nice and accommodating- they asked the reason why I was staying at their hotel and I said because of a school interview. For which they gave me a discounted rate for the room! Upon arriving my room was beautiful! Very large and spacious for a single individual. Plus parking was ample and spacious also. The reason why I am giving the hotel three stars aside from four is that unfortunately my bed and sheets were not changed. Their was hair on the pillows and all over the bed. In addition the sheets smelled horrendous. I had arrived late at night and needed to wake up early the follow morning for the interview, so I managed to sleep like this. But the sheets smelled disgusting. Overall, customer service was good, beautiful hotel but staff needs to ensure the beds are fully changed, so that they don't stink. The hotel was conveniently located near the school where I had the interview, about 2 miles so this was also a positive. read more

This is a very nice hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights. I like that every room is a suite so you can sit on the couch and relax. Also a full size refrigerator is nice to bring drinks and leftovers too. The breakfast was awesome. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, make your own mini waffles, oatmeal with 12 different toppings, fruit, cheeses, boiled eggs, bagels, English muffins, cinnamon rolls, cereals, and a few other things. Best breakfast I have ever seen. The bed is not comfortable. I turned all night long. But I prefer a softer bed. So if a hard bed is your thing, you will enjoy it. Staff is very friendly. read more

My vehicle was broken into at this very hotel. Everything on the menu is expensive. Now that being said, my car was broken into along with another gentleman's truck and one gentleman's room. I had my wife daughter at the time, for me to wake up to glass on my daughter's car seat had me livid. I'm passing thru the town from the looks of things before was a nice place, but I mistakenly took for a safe place. So stop at your own risk. read more

This hotel is amazing. The room was large and clean, including the bathroom. Love the complementary water and fresh cookies at check in. Needed a fan to as white noise during the night and had left mine at home. Night front desk person found one for me after midnight so we could have a good night sleep. Breakfast was amazing and had a wide variety and was still well stocked and fresh and hot at the end of service. Shower are amazing with good water pressure. Have stayed before and we WILL stay here again if we are in Abilene!! Made the mistake the first night staying at another hotel in the area. See my other review. read more

Stayed here for work. It was an easily accessible location, very clean, friendly staff, and had a great breakfast! I typically do online check-in and chose the highest floor (4) for myself. It was noisy from time to time, but for the most part I was satisfied. Some things on the hotel are slightly dated, but if you need a clean, efficient place to stay, this is totally worth it. Bed was comfortable, large jacuzzi tub would be great for taking bath not so great for showers. I enjoy getting out of hotel and walking, nothing to walk to, but other hotels and Dennys. People walking up and down halls till 1 AM each night and it just seemed like they were right outside my door. Staff was very friendly and available to help as needed. read more

This hotel is getting a 2 star only because the bed was clean. I booked through hotels.com for our road trip, i upgraded for the room (#303) with the jetted tub to soak away the aches and pains from the road trip, the tub was gorgeous but the ceiling above the tub was not you could tell there was a leak or a hole in the ceiling and they patched it with a ceiling tile that at this point had stains. I asked the attendant down stairs if it was safe to use. His reply was yes, this is a 10 year old hotel its had leaks.. that was it not would you like another room, not i can see what we can do for you or let me take a look at it etc.. they patch has mold flakes coming off it looks like it has had to be screwed back on and this morning there was a fresh water stain on it leting me know that there is still a leak. I ended up passing on the shower all together because i really didnt want anything falling on me. I am very disgusted with the customer service the answer i was given and i am pretty sure if a room has a leak you dont macgyver something over it. You get it fixed and not use that room. read more

This was a nice, clean and new property. The staff was accommodating and the rooms were fresh. It was a little out of the way location wise, but Abilene is a pretty small town so it's not too much of a problem. I have also satyed at the other Hampton Inn in Abilene and this one is definitely newer. I believe you get more bang for your buck at this location. read more

If your looking for a nice hotel for a decent price in a west Texas town, this one will do the job pretty good. I found this place coming into town on the hotel.com app and I believe it was third or forth on the list but with a good rating. I chose this place out of the others because the rate was decent, they provided free breakfast, and the check in age was only 18 (some places in town were 21). Upon arrival, I was checked in quickly and got my keys with no hassle. Being that I had been up for the past 48 hours I was unhappy to find that my room was right by the elevator, but the hotel (and the front desk staff member, Chris) was very accommodating and brought the keys to another room down the hall for us! The room was very clean (contained black-out curtains), the shower was spotless and even contained a waterpik shower head. The breakfast was great for arriving 15 minutes before it ended with waffles, bacon, fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt and two cereal selection to name what I remember. If traveling, there is a large lot in the back great for parking a trailer and a back door with immediate access to the elevators. read more

Wonderful hotel. I stayed in this hotel for up to 4 months straight while working on a pipeline project. The staff was incredible, from the graveyard shift to midday. Housekeeping was great and all were friendly as can be. I made great friends with the staff while staying here and they definitely made it feel like home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone anytime. Can't get any better than this in Abilene, period. read more

The Hampton on the South side is also very good, but this one is above and beyond. Rooms are large and comfortable, and the staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. My daughter left her necklace in our room and I got a call from the hotel the next day letting me know. Luckily I had family still in the area who could go pick it up, so I was grateful to the staff. Aside from that, the breakfast was amazing, the lounge area large and comfortable, and hot apple cider waiting in the lobby when we checked in on a cold day. We'll definitely be back. read more
