10/20/25 8:52am…read more While driving eastbound down 52nd street after turning off of Eastern Ave, one of RHD Tire employees pulled out INTO oncoming traffic from the Family Dollar located on the north side of 52nd. This reckless driving driver failed to look toward his right to even notice me in transition already and pulled 4 lanes over into my lane, nearly t-boning my vehicle. To AVOID an accident and this driver from colliding into my 9 year old daughter and myself, I swerved to the right, ran into the curb at 35MPH busting my passenger side tires. When I called to complain to his supervisor, she stated how it didn't look like he was at fault and it appeared as if I lost control of my vehicle. I had FULL CONTROL of my vehicle which is why there isn't a collision reported, because I avoided it from happening. The only thing I was looking for was an apology and an explanation as to why he had a lack of attention and respect for oncoming traffic. He could have waited for me to pass especially since there was no vehicle behind me, or simply merged into the middle lane until I passed instead of disregarding traffic coming from his right. I literally saw his attention focus on the traffic coming westbound but he had no concern for the oncoming traffic traveling eastbound. Police report has been filed as will a lawsuit for replacing my tires, the inconvenience due to me NOT having possession of my vehicle now and the mental strain/stress/anxiety placed on me and my daughter on her way to school and throughout the day. They are locally owned, so they're not advertising like the big tire stores, most people (like me) hear about them from word of mouth, and now that I've been there a couple times, I see why they have such a loyal following. Without going onto a lot of details about that experience, I just want to say, this about that company....They are terrible to deal with and I highly recommend you stay clear of Mid West Wheel and Tire unless you're into verbal abuse and frustration....Google the reviews for Mid West Wheel And Tire and you will see why I say stay away from Mid West. That terrible situation is what brought me to The Wheel Exchange. Prior to my placing an online order, I called The Wheel Exchange to ask a few question. I spoke with Bill and he answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Bill and I have exchanged several emails and text messages during my order process and we have come to know each other probably more than most customer and sellers get to know each other. I requested my order be expedited to my home in South Carolina and Bill did his best to get me my wheels on the date I needed them by (wanted them on my vehicle for a trip that I was taking). I cannot brag on Bill enough as he went above and beyond making sure my wheels arrived on time and made my transaction smooth. Bill if you read this, you are an asset to your company. They tell you that damages to the wheel will be deducted from the core charge. Why would anyone need to buy a wheel if there were nothing wrong? They get you for an extra $150 and tell you that's normal. WELL, IT'S NOT. Competitors give 100% core money back as long as it is the same OEM wheel whether it is repairable or not. Inner lip bend, repairable at my expense apparently. SCAM!!! The pictures are of a wheel they claim may not be repairable and that they are taking a chance of it not being repairable and is the reason I am only getting half of the core money. Apparently, the massive building they are in in Michigan cannot straighten wheels, they only refinish them. Also, their core deposit email does state that I may be liable for some damages to be repaired but the charge would be between $50 - $75 (pictured too). They didn't do that either! This place gives you the illusion of a good deal but gets normal price as an end result. And the product I received was not the best quality. At the end of the day, I was scammed and the most I should be liable for based on their poor business practices is $75, not double. A rim company says they are going to charge you for repairs needed and take away from the core. That is ludicrous. That's like buying a remanufactured alternator from the parts store. They charge a core deposit too and refund that core when the core is returned. The Wheel Exchange states they are going to charge you to repair what failed. That just doesn't happen with the alternator from the parts store. It is called the cost of doing business and the price should have reflected what it takes to repair the wheel for someone else to purchase. Technically, I paid for the wheel to be repaired, I should get it back. This is very poor and unethical business practices. I would urge anyone that is considering making a purchase from this company be aware that what you think you are paying really will not be what you end up paying most of the time.
