My son kept telling me to go to his doctor which is a female. But my insurance said they didn't have any female doctors that were taking new patients. Since I was being seen by a male doctor for Hillside Primary Care I was able to switch to my son's doctor since I'm an established patient. My son was right this doctor Or PR S. Hessling she was awesome. She got my prescriptions situated, she listened like my son and girlfriend said she would. I feel good knowing that this doctor knows what she is doing. read more

If it wasn't for the Physicians quality care and thoroughness, this review would be quite different. Vanessa Peralez, APRN, was exceptional in making sure anything I was concerned about was addressed and went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable. She never made me feel rushed and this was my first visit. The front office never said their office was on the 2nd floor despite being on the phone with them to get their correct address. I recently visited this office as a new patient after moving to the area and yikes my experience was incredibly disappointing. Front desk was kind and welcoming. Then the MA called me to complete paperwork I had left a few sections blank since they didn't apply to me, but she insisted even after I explained I had nothing to add but I complied. She then brought me back with a dismissive demeanor. No greeting, no eye contact, just silence while taking my vitals. She left the room and didn't even bring the paperwork I had just completed, which later became relevant. I had been referred to see Dr. Lori, as I was seeking a PCP and wanted to discuss PCOS symptoms. She asks me the exact same questions that were on the form and jokingly says "Oh you're healthy! What's wrong with you?" Haha? Not a joke to me. At no point did she ask meaningful questions why I was there or try to understand concerns. Instead, the conversation stayed very surface-level basic questions without addressing the reason for my visit. What made it worse, she brought up my appearance, specifically my acne scars. This is something I'm already self-conscious about, and having it pointed out in a clinical setting trying to upsell laser treatments felt completely inappropriate and insensitive. Toward the end of the visit, she suggested birth control and an IUD as her solution. I had to stop her mid-sentence to explain that I am not trying to suppress my cycle. For anyone familiar with PCOS, these options mask symptoms rather than address underlying issues when your cycle is already haywire. It was frustrating to feel like I had to educate the doctor instead of receiving guidance. I get it, no physician can know everything, but if a provider is unfamiliar with a condition, I would much rather be referred to someone who is knowledgeable than receive dismissive or uninformed care. I left this appointment in tears. Between the lack of empathy, poor communication, and the overall atmosphere, I would not recommend this office or this provider to anyone! Especially if you're seeking care for something that requires deeper understanding and compassion. read more

I appreciate the care I received at Hillside Clinic and found the staff to be kind and professional. However, I did experience significant delays during my visit. My appointment was scheduled for 9:30, but I wasn't called back until 10:25, and then waited another 20 minutes in the exam room before being seen. I understand that delays happen, but clearer communication about wait times--or updates along the way--would make the experience much smoother. Everything else about the visit was great, and I'm sharing this feedback in hopes it helps improve the overall patient experience. read more

Dr. Patel was personable, kind, and efficient; He answered all of my questions and concerns in a timely manner. Nursing staff/CMA's as well as their Lab techs were very kind and helpful. The only complaint I had was that the wait was long and the location has many people coming in. I feel that this has been the new norm everywhere post Covid, not just this location so it may be unfair of me to complain. It would help to have more comfortable seating/side tables/decor and a calmer waiting area in general for long waits. While the doctors, nurses, and in-office staff are wonderful, the AI phone system and computerized check-in process are very frustrating. The automated answering service often directs me to call 911 instead of allowing me to speak to someone, which can be extremely inconvenient. The QR code and computer check-in system also make the process feel impersonal and a bit like patients are just numbers moving through the system. I really miss the days when you could call the office and speak with a real person or check in with someone at the front desk. It made the experience feel much more welcoming. That being said, the staff, nurses, and doctors are excellent--kind, caring, and very professional. They are the main reason I continue coming back to this office. If the communication and check-in process were improved to feel more personal, the overall experience would be much better. read more

I was a new patient, first time with them. Dr Mark Bentley was very impatient and made me feel unconfortable. I came due to having really bad allergies and wasn't aware that I would have to do additional work done, and when I asked him why, he was very short with me and raising his voice. I told him never mind I dont want this because of the way he was treating me and his response is okay there is the door. Never going back to that location and do not recommend that specific doctor. read more

This was my first appointment with HPC. The check in process was simple through a link. I waited about 6 minutes before being called to be seen for my 9am appointment. The nurse was polite, respectful, and willing to answer my questions. I went in for a form I needed to be filled by a medical professional. The doctor did a very good job in helping me and was welcoming. Overall, the facility is clean and the environment is good. I will definitely make this my go to hospital away from the VA. I recommend HPC to anyone. read more

Emily Gonzales the PH does not take care of her patients at all. I saw her for a referral and a check up! she told me my referral would take a couple of days I'm going on 3 weeks! and still no referral. also asked for a physician med statement and she told me it would take a couple of weeks. I asked her do you need medical records to back up my medical history and she said no I believe you! 3 weeks nothing!!!! I went to see her to see if it was completed or done and still nothing!. I have been to the office daily trying to get the referral and statement donev and still nothing has been addressed! I don't know how this office stays in business with a PH like her! read more

If you value your mental health, look elsewhere. I had a telehealth appt that I never received an invite for, or proof of appt in the portal. I spent the next 45 minutes calling them, trying to get in, before they called me back, of course threatening a no-show fee. Appt was less than 5 minutes, they told me to just email them the lab work I needed done. I HAD SENT THE EMAIL THE DAY PRIOR, when I was prompted to make an appointment. Office experience. The front staff is incredibly condescending. They do not understand how insurance plans work. When I tried to explain that I had met my OOP in May, woman had me get my insurance card out and read it to me like I was an idiot. The team was very nice and the process to schedule an appointment went quickly. If you book online they call you that same day to confirm your appointment and might even try to schedule you sooner. Everything from the pharmacy, lab, and doctors office is in that one area, so you don't need to travel far! I'm glad I found this place. read more

The providers at the practice are excellent. However, the business model is designed to extract the most profit from patients while minimizing interactions. I was notified by email that my annual exam had changed locations and providers. When I went online, it showed that my original provider was still with the practice, but did not have availability the day my appointment had been scheduled. I requested an appointment on a date that showed she was available on the website. I later got an email that my request was denied. I tried calling to book with her, and got an ai scheduler. The scheduler allows you to pick a date, and tells you one appointment time available on that date. If you don't select that time, you can pick a different date, however your provider may not be available that day, and the program does not give you dates where your provider is available. You have to check every day. I gave up and decided to just go to the new location and provider. When I got there, I was told that I had to pay a $75 specialist co-pay. I informed them that my wellness exam does not have a co-pay. They said that it does because it's with a specialist. When I asked why they scheduled me with a specialist without asking me or informing me of the additional fee, they said it was because my original provider was not available for my appointment. When I said that I would reschedule with my original provider, I was informed that I would still have to pay $75 to see her since she is now with the women's clinic. I asked if she'd gotten an additional certification or licensure since I saw her for free last year. She had not. I sent feedback to Hillside after my experience with the ai assistant with details of what went wrong. I never received a follow-up. I've had issues in the past (before the ai assistant) where I'd called the office to get a refill on a medication. I was told that I would need to make a new appointment to get a refill. This is for a medication I'd been on for years and which does not require labs. I am switching to a new practice, and do not recommend Hillside. read more
