They have consistently provided superb service and follow-through, so I recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a PCP. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I missed an appointment due to an emergency, called them beforehand to let them know, and they said it would be enough since it was an emergency. Called to reschedule, they said I never called so I'd have to pay. Asked them to check their system, they didn't find evidence of my call. I called back to reschedule again, the said they found the notes in their system, but I'd have to appeal formally. I asked them what proof was needed, and they said I'd just have to make the claim that I had emergency surgery. So I asked what's the difference between now and then, since I had already done that and what would constitute as proof to waive the fee. They couldn't really answer, transferred me to billing and billing said they couldn't do anything, I'd have to talk to the practice. I asked billing to get on the call with me and the practice, and they said they would, but they did a simple transfer instead. When I finally agreed to pay and appeal later, they didn't have the appointment I needed. One big circus, wasting everyone's time, over 25 dollars.

The receptionist and head nurse were rude and even laughed at my mother's situation. The other two receptionists were blithely talking on what appeared to be personal calls. I had a doctor at the ER that with all the tests done and the same info I shared, he did not give me the right antibiotic. I had a serious infection and high fever for a week and he doubled the antibiotics I had before I went to the ER... yes, and was charged 1k after insurance. Dr. Ortiz Saved another trip to the emergency room or something worse. I would take a good doctor even if it meant having to deal with some issues with the staff, it might just be uncomfortable to be in that position if you are in need of efficient staff. If you are, the manager resolved my issues when they were escalated, she was kind and made sure everything was okay.

She was informative and professional. The day of my first appointment, I received such a great welcoming from the ladies at the front desk. They were so sweet, soft spoken, and professional. Then, I met Ms. Matilda. She's also sweet and professional. We shared a few laughs while I answered her questions. Prior to meeting Dr. Kohatsu, Ms. Matilda spoke highly of him and assured me that he's a great doctor, and she told no lies. On this particular day, a student, Rayshon (name is probably spelled incorrectly) was present. I have no doubt that this young man will be great doctor soon. I definitely hopes he finishes strong. Finally, I met Dr. Kohatsu. And the rest is history. He's very thorough and provided a lot of feedback. He LISTENS!! I also like that he takes the time to write notes in my chart because I wouldn't understand the results if he didn't. Lol. On my first visit, he was overwhelmed with all of my issues (I will admit by this time, I cried every time I talked about all my health issues since I had no idea at that time what was wrong with me). My new PCP asked me which of my long list of issues I wanted to start with). Since that day I have been through 4 bone fractures, carpal tunnel in both hands, eye lid surgery, complete mouth dental implants, 2 double mastectomy surgeries, 2 hernia surgeries, and had my gallbladder removed and so many tests that I have no idea how many tests have been done on me My real irritation was that my doctor had made the assumption that I had been drunk when I displayed my shoulder. As I sat there, I realized that I was dismissed and my doctor was only talking to my husband. I really felt that I was being treated as insignificant and a drunk. I'm not a drunk and an extremely exhausted by the way I have been treated by doctors. I have had to fight for my health care and done almost all of the research on what is wrong with me. Even with finding out that I have Cushings, I can't get hardly any support from my provider. I understand that I am a complex case with my medical issues, but I do expect respect.

I was given an appointment. On the Monday before my appointment, I received a phone call verifying my visit for that week. When I arrived at the office, I was told that they stopped taking my insurance in June (this is November...I made my appointment last month) and that I did not fill out the proper forms...I had found these on their website...I was told that the site was not updated and that the forms were no longer valid. Very inept office staff. I STRONGLY recommend against using this office site.
