I ended up switching to his office, because my previous primary care provider refused to even consider giving me a prescription to address anxiety issues, even though I had a recommendation from another healthcare provider. Dr. Rodriguez listened attentively and addressed all of my concerns. He really takes his time with each patient. Dr. Rodriguez is now part of the MdVIP program, so we switched to PA Heather and PA Jerry. Heather has been great. She is really good at presenting all of the options available for treatments and even puts stickers on my lab results. Overall, I recommend this office to my friends all the time.

I've called and left messages of major concerns with their answering service and office personnel and never received a call back. Bottom line, I always feel worse after I leave his office than before I went in. If you have a good sense of self, see someone else.

He's had horrible staff during times and good in fact awesome at others. I don't know if the medical care system has changed. I don't know. But months out from appointments means one of two things or both. Either you have too many patients or not enough staff. No matter. And this is kind of common here in San Antonio I've found. Tried to find a doctor taking new patients. 5 months out. THAT is not health care. I can't 'plan' every event with my health 5 months in advance. People get sick and need to see a doctor fairly soon. 'Go to the ER' is the answer. Then the ER gets clogged up to people that really need it. So I just become part of the problem. But for me, for as long as I've been a patient, I don't' care how many patients you have...it's about loyalty and trust me, I've stuck through some bad times there as he's gone through some horrible staff. And I see it. I didn't say anything but I saw the damage being done. I just can't do it. I don't feel like I can accept that for MYSELF. Love the man. He saved my life long ago. Dr Kempf is willing to go above and beyond to find something out if it's out of the ordinary, and has been very friendly and helpful. EDIT 29 Nov 2016: Apparently, this is no longer Satmed Medical Clinic. It is Ascend Family and Wellness Care. Our records were switched to the new place, and we never knew until I called there. Thankfully, the staff was great, very informative and patient. Also, Dr Melissa Kempf no longer works here. I will update more if we stay with the clinic.
