They gave me their card at comic con one year. Called ahead of time to ask if they buy comics and that I had a long box full I wanted to sell. Drove 30 mins out, carry in the long box, guy spend about 15 mins looking through it and says he's not interested in any of it. Waste of time. Was looking forward to selling to them in the future but not anymore. Guy offered me zero and had the nerve to tell me to come back with rare comic. Huge store but all staff are unmasked inside, so I will not be back no matter how cool the interior is. They have a wide selection of VHS tapes, DVDs, graphic novels, toys (action figure, hot wheels--an entire rack of it) and trading cards (no ygo cards tho, but everything pokemon and MTG) The staff greet you with hello and make a point to come find you inside the store to ask if you need help but that made me super uncomfortable. read more

Cool store, helpful employees, picked up some nice current issues for Wolverine and Punisher. Stopped by when I had a free minute to check the place out. Lots of comics, cards, video games and collectables. When I couldn't find a Punisher number 2 the employee looked high and low until the back issue in question was found. So I would say customer service went above and beyond this visit. The bad reviews look like people not liking prices, how much they're offered for items they're trying to sell, or women not feeling welcome (lots of good reviews by women to offset too) but I had zero negative experience and will for sure be back to stay up to date on the titles I follow. read more

I had a friend who went in selling his comic books because he needed funds for rent .They offered him less than any other store in area. I myself did find one book I was looking for but did not see a the price for it....I think they need to check what the older comics are selling for and not what they want for it. They also need to carry more current issues. read more

Sweet battle worn elf armor that's been through a near death escape of a Tarrasque. (So when you see one, just run and cry a lot.[and by cry I mean watch your character die in front of you, if you dont roll a natural 20] Doesnt help that my elf weighs 180 [which is one of the huskies elfs in it's time. ._.]) This place is a good place to dip your big firbolgs toe into and start swimming in the world of awesomeness. Atmosphere/comics/product: Walking in you are introduced to a small but relatively important collection of all kinds of artifacts of the fellow geek and nerd world. (Which is always a delight to see other peoples collection) fairly large building and 1/4 of the section is mainly dedicated for Card playing. (Mainly Magic but you never know when you want to throw a wrench bar of Yugi-oh and pokemon into the works. Plus it's always awesome to just randomly yell "it time to du-du-duuuuel!!" ._. [Ps: don't throw wrenches at people, cuz it hurts.]) With one other 1/4 part of the store covering a wide selection of comics of all kinds it's not hard to stay awhile searching for the right comic. (Dear sweet god father of all that's alien Fox Moulder. They have the X-Files._.) The next 1/4 is with a decent amount of D&D figures, guides, and DM books. (Which makes me feel like when I walk into the house of twilight in Tantras late at night with a bag full of gold and that feeling is jolly.) The place is fairly clean which is always a welcoming feeling. Customer Service: Is very friendly and right off the bat you get the sensation that this a family own business. :3 I may have to say that it was pleasant and they were always about an earshot away. (Like Moraughaloth within reach of its treasures. ^_^) to say the least nothing was striking about the service but it was sufficient enough to get what I needed. ._. Conclusion: With a self explained atmosphere and a service that would bring all the raccoons on the block to come together for the secret alliance of the second earth. ._. Very fun place, I walked in there with 40$ thinking I would find a retro The Amazing Spider-Man Comic. And walked out of that store with a smile and 4 Amzing Spider-Man comics. I would definitely go again and recommend this place to others. read more

So is it a regular practice of the owner's wife to throw women out of this store - women who come in to actually spend money but cannot because Hills doesn't even carry the game that was being sought out. Was told this was a safe place for nerds to hang out. Guess you can only hang out there if you're a male nerd. I'd give them zero stars if I could. Edited to add: In the Auburn Reporter on February 13, 2014, Hill said his store was a safe haven for gamers. Yeah...not so much. I'm not a comic nerd, but I needed a birthday gift for a friend. I went to three shops closest to me and this one was by far my least favorite. The atmosphere reminded me of someone's basement. It was kind of dark, dingy, and dusty. Organization was lacking, there's tons of boxes in the back and they look like they're going to topple over each other at any time (Imagine the Leaning Tower of Pisa) One employee approached me and I asked if they had the book I was looking for, in which he responded it may have been in the back. That was all I got for hlep from him. The other lady just told me didn't know if they had the book and told me to try eBay instead. Maybe I just had a bad experience there, but it felt like they didn't care too much about the place. Try the comic book shops in Fed Way instead. read more

Awesome selection wide variety of books for new series that just came out. There's a huge selection of 1$ books as well as some other fillers and even some 3/5$ deals that will be sure to help your collection grow. Only downside to this place why it's not 5 stars is because I know it's hot outside right now but doesn't need to be 90+ degrees in the store. Comic wise awesome also some other tables in the back for card games and such if your into that sort of thing give this place a try. read more

I called this place looking for some dice for a friend. A woman named Michelle answered and was very friendly and helpful. I came in and was immediately greeted by a guy named wolf and a woman named Michelle. I got the items I was looking for quickly and for a very decent price. Staff was friendly and helpful.! My family and I have been going to hills of comics for over a year and every experience we have had there is great. We have taken our kiddo with us for Friday night magic, our kiddo has autism and the employees, as well as the owners are great with him and he always has a really good time there. Michelle and John (the owners) are so nice and friendly. Started playing MTG there about 7 months ago for Friday night draft, and have been going every Friday since! Wonderful atmosphere and people, being a girl in the geek world can be hard, but I've never felt judged at his shop. I drive down from Seattle, but I wouldn't imagine going anywhere else! read more

This place will rip you off and demean you if you're uneducated about mtg. It is cliquey and convenient due to their location. Never buying from here again, no matter how inconvenient. This place moved to a bigger store last year so they have much more room to display merchandise than they previously did. There are toys, video games (including vintage games and systems) graphic novels, comics, board games and collectible card games here. There is a large amount of gaming tables in the back for casual (I'm guessing) and tournament playing. The staff were helpful when I was in the store but not overbearing. The only caveat that I have is that this place has no air conditioning and can be like an oven on warm days. I can't even imagine trying to play some kind of tournament with fifty or so other bodies in close proximity. read more
