DON'T store your belongings with Go Store It!!! - we lost over $30,000 dollars worth of valuables,…read morefamily albums, furniture, tools and so much more--all items stored in our 8 x 20 ft. cargo trailer. The thieves used a VENDOR code to open the security gate, drive in and, after busting off the locks on our trailer and tow, hooked up their truck to our trailer and drove out of the facility. A vendor code is a code that management gives to people who come to their locations to do repair work. You would think that it would be easy to track down the vendor based on the code but, unfortunately, Go Store It gives their vendors the SAME code, so it's impossible to pin-point who actually stole our possessions. We had just moved to the Columbus area and had not found a home yet so we needed to store our possessions in a secure area. Go Store It is NOT a secure area. Their security cameras are of extremely poor quality--even the police said the video footage sent to them from Go Store It was garbage. Please find another place to entrust your possessions.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these scam artists. Rude management and sleazy used-car business tactics. BUYER BEWARE. THEN, the owner tries to justify huge rate hikes by saying they are set by "market conditions"...BS! they are advertising LOWER rates every day since they gave me huge rate increase! IF the rates were market based, why are they charging me WAY more than their bait and switch rates? like i said, this is a SCAM ARTIST OPERATION. Sleazy operation and slimeball operator.

Hilltop

I reserved a truck online the night before. Went to pick it up at the appointed time. The website…read moreonly gave me the option to check out the truck through the website. I thought the inside of the location must not be open due to COVID. If I had been given the option, I would have just checked it out through the desk like usual. When I arrived and checked in on the website, it gave me the number of my truck and a picture of where it was parked relative to the building. I found that location but there were no trucks parked there. I spent about 15 minutes driving around the parking lot and found it next to the return spot. I indicated on the app that I had found the truck. I should mention that before I found the truck, and when it wasn't where it was supposed to be, I clicked several times on the link saying that I could not find the truck. This would only take me back to the same page and was not helpful in any way. Once I indicated that I'd found the truck, the website demanded the name and contact information for two points of contact along with a photo of my passport. Now, I don't know two people who would vouch for me and if I had know this beforehand I just wouldn't have rented a truck because I would have known I didn't have what was required. At the same time, I've rented trucks here before and have never been asked for this. I also don't have a passport but even if I did and it was going to be required, why wouldn't I be told about this BEFORE I have arrived to pick up the truck so that I can be prepared? I entered information for the points of contact but didn't have a working phone number for one of them so I put my Google Voice number which rings to my phone. At one point, it have me an error about the phone number but would not let me change it. I eventually noticed there was a message in the live chat. (I didn't even know there was a live chat option so it's a miracle I noticed it.) It was a message from someone saying that they could not rent to me because my points of contact didn't answer when they called. I really don't think they had time to call any of them. I responded asking what else I could provide and instead of responding, they cancelled my reservation and locked me out of the website! I then went inside (which was open so why the hell wasn't this an option given for picking up the truck?). The lady at the desk was fairly nice and got things straightened out for me but she was dismissive about what had happened and didn't care to try to fix it. She just said they know the website doesn't work. But she also said she'd never had them ask for contacts from someone before and that none of that was necessary. She said that on her end, the reservation wasn't cancelled so she could still give me a truck. That started problem #2. For some reason, instead of giving me the truck to which I was assigned, she gave me the one in front of it. The problem was that I STILL had to check out the truck through the website. She had texted me a link to go through that process. Well, it's a totally different truck than the one that was assigned to me so everything was wrong. I had to dispute every single picture of damage of the truck and take and upload new ones. The first time I did this, it went back to the main screen and didn't save any of the photos or comments. The second time, the same thing. The third time it took it but then it asked about the mileage and fuel gauge. The truck I was supposed to have, and what I had the paperwork for, had 1/2 tank of gas while the one I was given was full. It let me change the fuel level on the website. But it would not let me change the mileage. The mileage for the truck I was given was about 118k while the one I was supposed to have was about 120k. It forced me to accept the mileage. I'm so frustrated and absolutely so behind schedule at this point. Why have a customer set a pickup time at a certain time if you're going to put them through 45 minutes of this BS? So even though the mileage was wrong, I decided not to go back in and dispute it but just to start on my journey. I did, however, tweet at U-Haul to tell them that the pics were rejected by their website and that the mileage was wrong. They tweeted back that it showed on their end that the pics WERE accepted along with my notes. They also made a note of the actual mileage. I was now finally on my way. Upon returning the truck, I had to enter the final mileage. Well, guess what. It wouldn't accept the mileage since the final mileage was lower than what it thought the truck originally had on it, again, because it was the wrong truck. Apparently U-Haul, through Twitter, had only noted it and not changed it. This meant I couldn't actually check the truck back in. I gave up and just dropped the keys in the dropbox. Seven hours later I get a voicemail from them asking where the truck is, stating it's 8 hours late. Are you kidding me? IT'S IN FRONT OF YOUR DOOR. (EXCEEDS CHARACTER LIMIT)

They cleaned up an engine oil leak and rated the engine at 5 stars. I asked about the box being water tight since it had not rained in a while and was told it didn't leak. First rain I found a simple leak to fix that any moron could repair with some Flex Paste as I did but clearly was too much for them to handle. Make sure you pay $1000-2000 less than asking price so you can repair the items they can't handle doing themselves. Go visit Penske actually is the better option Folks!!
