I would highly recommend Efficient Moving when you need loading/unloading help. I arranged for them…read moreto meet me at 1pm. They arrived a few minutes after 1pm and had the truck completely unloaded by 1:45pm. I was amazed how fast they unloaded this truck. I will call Efficient Moving for loading/unloading help for my next 2 truckloads in May. Travis and his helper were great to work with!! The total cost was far less than other quotes I received from the competition and this company has been around for a long time. Thanks ! DBL

When I first contacted Efficient Moving, I was told that my moving charge would be $180 per hour…read morewith one truck. I then had one of their representatives, at their suggestion, come to my condo to see what and how much I had to move. When the Efficient Moving man came to my condo, I was encouraged to do a "per item" moving cost basis and was told "it would turn out cheaper" than a per hour basis. The man told me that typical totes/boxes were like $3 each to move and he would take an inventory of the furniture, etc. back to the office and give me a quote. When I got the quote, the totes/boxes were $4 each. Plus there was a $200 "Trip Charges" which was not mentioned to me before. They would not disclose what the individual furniture pieces cost to move as that was "proprietary information" so I had no idea how much more a big piece of furniture cost than a smaller piece. I didn't like the whole situation but the move was looming and I felt overwhelmed so I chose to continue with Efficient Moving vs finding another mover. On moving day, three nice gentleman showed up and it took them 3 1/2 hours to complete the move, working at what I would call a normal pace. The total charge was $832.50 or $237 per hour, considerably more than the $180 initially quoted me. It also took the mover an additional half hour to figure out the bill because of their complicated system.

They were great to work with because my move in kept changing. I had to give them 450.00 up front…read moreand in cash for his truck and to keep a space open for me. I had one standing freezer my daughters fridge and mine which the said they could move I told them they'd probably need to take the doors off to get it out of the house. I had 8 shelving units, white and light weight. I had 6 units that each had 4 squares in them with clothes. Also not very heavy, I also had some boxes about 10 and a washer and drier and two small pieces of furniture. I got a text from Patrick saying his truck had broken down so they were going to have to get a U-Haul and not a very big one! When they got to my house they took one look at my refrigerator and said oh, that's a new one! We're not allowed to move those! I mean, he says, we could try but we didn't bring the tools to remove the doors! I told them before they ever got there about the doors. We had to make two trips from Chillicothe Ohio, to Circleville Ohio, about a 30 minute drive. Because the truck was small we had to make two trips. I wasn't taking any of the other furniture in my house because it's too large for my new house. In the end it cost me with the 450 dollar advance a thousand dollars for about 5 hours of work. So they were nice and friendly, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. It was too expensive for the small amount of stuff that they moved and because they wouldn't move my fridge I ended up having to buy a new one. I couldn't find anyone on such short notice to move it. And, wanting to keep all the 450 I'd already paid them, his truck breaking down ( he said he had two) and renting a small U-Haul. No stay clear!

This was the worst moving experience. We've moved multiple times in the past and hired professional…read moremovers before, but this time with North American was bad from start to finish. For starters, they sent only a crew of 2 for a 4 bedroom, 1650 square foot house - the smallest crew we've ever had, even when moving out of smaller places (we've always had 3 or more with a clear leader). This crew were very slow and lacked leadership. As a result, they took excessively long and didn't "finish" until 7 1/2 hours later. We've had faster, better in-town moves where they load and un-load on the same day in less time. I say "finish" because of the biggest problem: they ran out of space on the truck. We've NEVER had that happen. I understand that it can occur, but this shows a poor job from the very first estimate. This combined with the above was too much. We are still waiting for that "overload" to arrive weeks later. Upon arrival at out new home, they brought in MANY crushed boxes - again something we've never had before as we've been able to reuse boxes. Often large, heavy boxes were placed on top of smaller, lighter ones. At one point I witnessed a box tumble off their dolly and fall to the sidewalk. It was marked "fragile" and sure enough the glass contents were broken. At another point, they could not get our box spring mattress up the stairs. They could not figure out the angle to carry it up, so they said it couldn't be done and left it downstairs. Not acceptable! I had to show them how to do it and I carried it upstairs. They also failed to wrap the box spring and it arrived filthy. Poor treatment of an important, expensive item. As I write this, our Overload shipment has not been scheduled to arrive yet. It's bad enough to even have one - let alone not knowing when (if?) it will ever arrive. Also: egregiously not acceptable. This is poor service from start to finish.
