WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! RUN FAST! DO NOT RENT HERE! Find another storage unit company, because…read morethis one is shady and they will bait and switch you and then steal your money. I started renting from them in February 2025, rate with fees/tax was $42.95 for a 5x5 telephone booth sized storage unit - small space, it's all I needed - I was happy. A few months later, in May 2025, I receive a Rate Change Notice, which based on previous reviews, I was expecting - but NOT for this much. The Rate Change was going from $42.95 to $179.48 for my 5x5 telephone phone booth sized storage unit. That's 4 TIMES the amount they originally quoted me, more than $135 increase, in just a few months time! IT GETS WORSE! After receiving that notice in mid May, and knowing that they claim to be temporary storage, I was planning on moving out. The notice was received on May 16, 2025. The notice said that the Rate Change would take effect on June 15, 2025. They CHARGED MY CARD for $179.48 on June 2, 2025; TWO WEEKS BEFORE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. So, not only did they bait and switch my rate, but they ALSO left me in a deficit of $179.48 by stealing that money from my account two weeks early, and not even giving me 30 days notice before doing it (which is illegal). Just because they have my card on file, doesn't mean they get to decide to increase the rate by 4x, and then charge me whenever they want. I cancelled my debit card because I was scared they were going to do it again; and now I cannot get ahold of anybody to refund me my money because they keep saying they're refunding it to the debit card in which I had to cancel because of their fraudulent charges! I MOVED OUT on June 2, 2025 right after they fraudulently charged my card for $179.48. The property manager has great customer service skills and she will try to keep you appeased, but the owner is irresponsible and not responsive. She tried to get him to issue me a check refund after I explained that I cancelled my debit card- and I've been waiting OVER A MONTH! Try to contact the call center, and they don't answer either. This company is a SCAM, and I hope that nobody else has this happen to them because it's been an absolute nightmare. My next step is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This is a wannabee national company buying locations around the country. They overpay for their real estate, and then immediately push tenants for aggressive and frequent rent increases. Plus, you get a warm fuzzy feeling from not having to buy or collect cardboard boxes for weeks and then throw them in a dumpster when you finally unpack.
