Some stuff was staying, some stuff was going to storage, and most was moving to our new house. We walked them through the house and explained what was going where. While the team initially seemed engaged, soon we became concerned by the lack of questions. After all, there was no way they had remembered everything just from our initial walkthrough. They hadn't. Mostly they just didn't care. It quickly became apparent that their only concern was putting stuff in boxes as quickly as possible. (Odd considering we were paying by the hour.) That might not be entirely fair. I do think that the team lead (I forget his name) seemed to do a much better job, than the other two. We only realized just how bad the packing was as we've been unpacking for the past week. One other point about their packing was that they didn't used tape guns. They simply bunch up the tape and pull till it breaks. I didn't think much of it at the time, but as we've been unpacking, we've had several boxes just drop open on the bottom because the tape wasn't well secured. The next day, Saturday, was moving day. This time it was a 4-man, 2-truck team. It was hard work, and the guys worked hard, but the complete lack of care for our stuff was mind blowing. We had a flat-pack desk that needed disassembled. I was assured by both the sales team and the packing team, that the movers would have no problem doing just that. In fact, I was told that their guys are "highly trained." When they started taking apart the desk, they didn't know what a cam-lock was. The ubiquitous fastener used in nearly all flat-back furniture. So, naturally, they destroyed my wife's desk. But, they never mentioned it. We only found out a couple days later when we went to put it back together at the new house. In transit, so many boxes were completely smashed because they piled them so high in the truck. Our storage unit is full of stuff that needs to be at the house and our house is full of stuff that needs to be moved to storage. I will say this. It was a lot of work and the guys worked their asses off. They just didn't care about the customer experience. In their defense, one of the guys said this was his 5th move in a row. He looked exhausted. It's hard to care when you're completely exhausted. I don't blame him for that, I blame management. None of the guys had back support belts, which really surprised me. And they didn't use moving straps. If you've ever seen movers with moving straps, it's a marvel. It makes the job so much easier and safer and quicker. Ultimately, the only "black tie" aspect of the entire service (packing and moving) was the price. It wasn't cheap. We were in a hurry, and I allowed myself to be taken in by the slick marketing. I will never use this company again.

Movers showed up late, left early, and take a 90 minute lunch if you don't feed them. They ask for food and candy upon arrival. They send you a dumb text everyday about "how is your move going?" And you call and call, no one cares. They missed my explicit deadline by three days and I paid them to unpack my 90 year mother and I was unpacking her 9 days later. They threw things in the closet as 'unpacking'. They broke 2 items, damaged the elevator at my mom's condo and once they got paid, they desert you. And you must pay in full every day. So you don't have any recourse except to let everyone else know. "Run! From this company. They don't care about you!" And they are the most expensive we encountered.

We moved from an upstairs duplex to our new home, so the stairs were a factor with every trip and the guys handled it like a champ. Their pricing was in line with other movers, but they offered 3 men to help where other companies only offered two for the same price. Also we didn't have to empty everything for the move (e.g. keep clothes in dressers, papers in the filing cabinet, etc). They were very careful with our belongings and paid attention not to damage our stuff or the walls/stairs during the move. My wife was pregnant during the move and the guys were super accommodating and kind to my wife. I would totally recommend Herlihy Moving to anyone looking for a reliable, hardworking, and courteous moving crew. We are so glad we chose them.

July 13th, blocked RV in with box truck. Supposed to leave for a camping trip July 14th at 5am. Went to pick RV up July 13th around 7:30pm. Situation could not be rectified. I own a $40k RV, and ended up camping in tents. August 2nd, went to pick dump trailer and drop at job site so employees could load. Trailer blocked by semi trailer. I was told they "don't have a yard dog" and can't get it moved. September 3rd, same story. Woke up early to pick dump trailer and deliver to job site. Upon arriving, my trailer is blocked in yet again. Each time my trailer has been blocked in, I have had to eat labor costs (employees waiting for trailer to load) and nearly forfeit a vacation. When confronting the "manager", he provided no solution. It is apparent they do not care about their customers. Should I pay my bill late, they want to charge me a fee. Should they cause my trailers and job sites to be shut down, they want to shrug their shoulders. I am now in process of removing trailers and storing with a more reputable company.
