We had to rent an additional truck the next day and rely on friends to move four carloads of remaining belongings. At the new home, the movers struggled to bring furniture inside. We had to remove and reinstall couch legs ourselves. Dressers were carried upside down, causing drawers to jam and shift out of place. Several items were only partially moved, such as a desk moved without its drawers and a recliner moved without its power cord. Because the move was billed hourly, we felt the movers extended the time unnecessarily. A job that should have taken about four hours instead took six--and still wasn't finished. In 2018, the same items were moved in four hours by two movers. Although the workers put in physical effort, they lacked the experience needed to pack and transport items properly. Several belongings were damaged, including a bookcase broken in half and scratches on both nightstands.

And you call and call, no one cares. They missed my explicit deadline by three days and I paid them to unpack my 90 year mother and I was unpacking her 9 days later. They threw things in the closet as 'unpacking'. They broke 2 items, damaged the elevator at my mom's condo and once they got paid, they desert you. And you must pay in full every day. So you don't have any recourse except to let everyone else know. "Run! From this company. They don't care about you!" And they are the most expensive we encountered.

He performed an in-person walkthrough and gave an upfront quote on packing/moving costs, as well as the estimated length of time. I was moving out of a very difficult apartment that had only 1 elevator, no loading bay, and an extremely long hallway circuit. None of this was an issue on the day of the move. A team of 3 movers had no issues packing, loading, and unloading all of my stuff. There was no damage to any hardware/furniture, and the final cost was right in the range of the estimate. Over the past 10-years, I've moved 7 times for work and this was BY-FAR the best moving experience I have ever had. American Moving is a gem, and I will absolutely use them again for any moving/transport/relocation needs.

It's taken almost three months to resolve, I have been offered settlement but still have no check. I have had to continuously chase them down for statuses and responses. Complete lack of professionalism and responsiveness for a rather small amount of damages that should have been resolved within 30 days of the claim. They refused to provide insurance carrier or claim information. Beware if they damage anything in your home it will be a pain dealing with them to get the claim resolved. Have reported them to the Better Business Bureau finally today after nearly three months of this nonsense because no customer should have to wait this long for a response. It's very poor customer service and unfair and unethical claims practice to boot. Will never use them again.

July 13th, blocked RV in with box truck. Supposed to leave for a camping trip July 14th at 5am. Went to pick RV up July 13th around 7:30pm. Situation could not be rectified. I own a $40k RV, and ended up camping in tents. August 2nd, went to pick dump trailer and drop at job site so employees could load. Trailer blocked by semi trailer. I was told they "don't have a yard dog" and can't get it moved. September 3rd, same story. Woke up early to pick dump trailer and deliver to job site. Upon arriving, my trailer is blocked in yet again. Each time my trailer has been blocked in, I have had to eat labor costs (employees waiting for trailer to load) and nearly forfeit a vacation. When confronting the "manager", he provided no solution. It is apparent they do not care about their customers. Should I pay my bill late, they want to charge me a fee. Should they cause my trailers and job sites to be shut down, they want to shrug their shoulders. I am now in process of removing trailers and storing with a more reputable company.
