Love to eat here, took my wife and daughter to have lunch. Awesome service. They have some spicy salsa and the meat is very tender.

We live in Midlothian and came into Ennis to drop off our car to Avenue Automotive. It was 11 am and decided to grab a bite before we head home. Hilda caught our eye and our tummies couldn't be happier. The service was welcoming and our waitress was the utmost attentive and pleasant. We need to come back to grab our car when it's ready and mention we'll be back. We anticipated it would be about dinner time and quickly found out they close at 2 everyday. Sadly we will won't be able to have them for dinner tomorrow. But will definitely come back and venture out to Ennis again just for their delicious food.

Cute place and they have a patio, which I look forward to enjoying in the future. They checked on us multiple times during the meal. Seriously great service. And, the food was presented beautifully plus was delicious. I had the ham, Gruyère and scrambled egg crepe with béchamel. My friend had a combo with spinach, mushrooms and feta that she loved. Then we shared the recommended apple pie creme brûlée crepe for dessert. I can see this going into my normal rotation. It's definitely a welcome newcomer to the area. Well done! Side note: I have weird food allergies and they were very helpful in this regard too.

I ordered the Les Omelette and chose my own toppings, hands down, the best omelette I've ever had. You can really taste how fresh everything is. I also tried the dulce de leche latte, which sounded amazing, but I didn't really catch the flavor, so it wasn't my favorite. Still, the food alone made it a great first visit and had me wanting to come back. I returned on 1/23 and decided to finally try a crepe and that's saying something, because I had a bad experience with crepes elsewhere that made me swear them off. I went with the Philly cheesesteak crepe, and it was delicious. It comes with a spring mix salad, which isn't really my thing, but the crepe itself was absolutely worth it. I also had a mango mimosa, which was really good. The second time I was there, the owner was on site and I got to meet him, super friendly and genuinely welcoming. The staff was great, and the restaurant was clean both visits. Between the fresh food, great service, and overall vibe, this place definitely earned a repeat customer. I'll absolutely be back.

The moment you walk in, you're greeted with the look and feel of true authenticity. There are two dining areas, and we chose the street-side patio. Here's something I've never seen before: they have a section on the menu specifically labeled "Tex-Mex"! Our waiter, Enrique from Ecuador, was amazing. The chips were fresh, hot, and crispy. They brought out two salsas--one was your classic red, and the other was a warm salsa that was absolutely divine. We finished both! We ordered the Chicken Enchiladas and the Camarones Momia (bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese and jalapeños). Hands down, the most flavorful I've ever had. Everything was piping hot and delicious. We ended with a flan for dessert that easily made our Top 5 list. Comfortable, delicious, and amazing. And get this--it's only 1.2 miles from our home. That could be a problem!! Highly recommended!

Sometimes you cant let the reviews dictate your experience!! It is clear that El Mexicano has been around for quite some time and i think that says enough. They have certainly made some changes throughout the years, they no longer have an open outdoor patio like they use to but instead it's an enclosed patio now so you are still kind of outside but not really. That is also where the entrance is, can be misleading a little bit because it doesn't quite look like the front door. The menu is extensive with several pages of drinks and food. The prices were great, the service was great and the food was fantastic! My tacos tasted like they were straight out of the taqueria and were packed with so much flavor. The drinks were made to perfection.
