Since moving to Simpsonville a little over a year ago I have been coming to Highscale. I keep my nails done and I am in here 2-3 times a month. I used to see a lady named Kathy who is very good and I never experienced any issues with her but she only works Sundays which makes it difficult. The last time I was there I got my nails done by Van (manager). She had me looking crazy to say the least. At that moment I said, I will not spend another dime in this place. Went in to get a pedicure. The nail technician pressured us into get the "signature pedicure" which said to include a hand massage. We later learned that it meant that they were going to use their hands to massage your legs like a normal pedicure includes... not that we were going to get hand massages. She pressured us by saying, "if you do the signature - it's better for me" Well, no duh, you're getting paid more. It was exactly the same thing as a regular pedicure at any other salon, lotion, warm towels, foot soak and scrub, etc. After my technician painted my toes, I asked her if she could take the paint off my skin. I chose the $50 pedicure since I'm pregnant and wanted to relax for a while thinking it was going to be nice. I didn't have 30 minutes of service. The materials they use look recycled from other customers I will definitely not return since I do not consider it hygienic and the service is very poor. I don't recommend it at all. This nail salon just opened and I highly recommend you give it a chance. I went in to have my acrylic nails taken off and dip powder put on. They took the time to wrap my nails to soak off the acrylic as to not damage my natural nail underneath. While My nails were soaking they brought over not just a bunch of sample sticks of their dip powder colors but books! Having the colors displayed in a book made it much easier to make my selection. Well I called to see when Annie will be back. I was told she is not coming back. They are under new management. They said come in and someone will take care of you after I explained what happened last time. So I decided to try one last time. The gentleman was extremely polite. Everything looked ok as he was working on them but I still saw a bunch issues and just decided I just will not go back. Although he was extremely nice, and very meticulous, it took him two hours to do a fill and fix the broken one. I showed him the crooked one and he just left it the way it was. He wanted to charge me $50 and I stated all I had was $40. If I'm going to be spending this much money on a service I feel I should be happy with the end product. I definitely will not go back. I was in town for a wedding and overjoyed to see that there was a nail salon right next to the hotel I stayed at. Since this wasn't planned I walked in. When they assigned someone to me I already knew this was going south. He was not friendly and didn't appear to really be a nail tech. He started to file my nails into a square shape per my request. One done I looked and they look terrible. In my head this must of been a joke. I still tried to stay hopeful because time was ticking before the wedding. I then asked for him to only push back my cuticles and he got so offended and kept telling me that wasn't a manicure but a polish change. Ok...whatever it is I don't want my cuticles cut. Then I asked for him to try and even out the filing on my nails. At that point he was just completely unfriendly. I decided to leave. Y'all get your customer service together. Our experience was tolerable until we noticed a shabby looking man with shoes and socks on passed out in a pedicure chair. We were instantly uncomfortable. Sooo me and a friend went to get a manicure and pedicure before our beach trip and thought we would give this new place a try. I was very disappointed and will not go back! It took 4 1/2 hours to get everything done. We did our pedicure first... after about 30 mins they started running the water in the foot basin.. then we sat and waited. Our water got cold by the time someone came to even ask what we wanted. We wanted fireworks on our big toe... which we had to explain multiple times. I will say the girl that did the design did a beautiful job! It wasn't the design we wanted but beautiful! My friend had to leave so she didn't get a manicure. I decided to stay and get dip. There was a communication error between me and the lady... she took off a lot of my nail and they look like crap. Also the color isn't the same as what was in the book. It was $28 for a pedicure and $40 to have dip done. I told them I wasn't happy with my nails and that it isn't what I asked for... the guy said he would put tips on to make them longer for $30. The manicure was the best I have had in a long time by a man named Peter. The second time was awful. A lady named Mia rushed through my gel manicure; my polished chipped in days, and all of my nails were uneven. When I commented on how uneven my nails were her response was, "These are your real nails, and they'll be how you want them next time" AFTER she filed them so low that even if she wanted to fix them she couldn't. I thought I'd give the new guys a try....won't go back. Had a gel manicure. My nails were a mess. She hurt several times And responded with a smile. . Plus, absolutely no chit-chat, simply sat there and did my nails. I asked her something and didn't acknowledge at all. When I soaked them. Cold water. "Cold is ok". Uhhh no, it's not. Then, after cleaning no washing of my hands‼. I have NEVER had my nails done without washing (without soap) after she's done (polishing done after washing). No one asked how it was, did I like them, etc. plus she put 3 coats of color on left hand and 2 on right. I didn't even go there with them . Wasn't going to argue. Never again. read more

So disappointed in the service we received this evening. I took my two daughters (ages 9 and 7) to get pedicures and the brochure states Children's pedicure - $20. Apparently this doesn't include color even though it doesn't mention that (they charge an extra $5 per child for putting nail polish on their toes). Also, be careful which nail polish you choose as they are all mixed in together (gel color versus regular). No one mentioned anything to me regarding this prior to starting the pedicure. It doesn't say gel on the bottle, and common courtesy would be to check with the customer before upcharging by $20. When I questioned the charges, the manager was very matter of fact and rude. He offered to make the nail tech remove the gel and replace it with regular polish as we were ready to leave. I just paid the extra charge because I didn't feel like the nail tech should have to do the work again due to terrible management. If it's not in your written materials and you don't communicate up front, you can't expect customers to pay extra. Bad business practices!! Rude and callous management!! We won't return! read more
