Today was my first time visiting this salon. I rarely get my nails done -- usually only for special occasions -- and this visit was in preparation for my engagement party, as I recently got engaged. I came in needing a refill on my acrylics and requested the same design I already had: a pink French tip. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet my expectations. While the nails look somewhat okay from a distance, they are not pink but nude and up close they're quite thick, uneven, bumpy to the touch and the tips are not well done. I asked the nail tech to fix the tips before I left because they were smudged, but I don't think they are any better. I was especially disappointed given the occasion, as I was hoping to feel confident and polished with my hands being in the spotlight. Additionally, the nail technician seemed rushed and was not very gentle during the process, which resulted in a few cuts. Despite the experience, I still paid and left a 20% tip out of courtesy. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I hope this feedback helps the salon improve for future clients. This may not be the best place for detailed or delicate designs like French tips. read more

Treated very rudely! My three daughters and I will not be back. I was yelled at by the owner because I asked for my daughter's nail design to be redone--it was not what she had requested (she asked for a ghost and got a Venom-looking face). At the time of the service, the technician told my daughter he could not do the ghost design and asked if he could do his own instead, which she foolishly agreed to. I was getting a pedicure at the time. When she got a chance to show me, she wasn't happy about it. When I went to pay, I explained that she hadn't gotten the design she asked for, and the woman in charge said she could have the technician redo it. I agreed and paid. While we were waiting for the technician to redo it, the owner shouted that she should have said something when the technician did it. I said that she had been hesitant to speak up because she's young and afraid she would get a reaction like the one I was getting from him. I was shouted at very loudly and told to get out--she wasn't getting her nails fixed because I was rude and should not be talking to him like that. I was very embarrassed, as the whole place was watching this unfold. Not once did I raise my voice, but he yelled very loudly. In the end, the technician did redo the nail, and he did the design she had asked for originally--the one he said he could not do. I'm glad he fixed it, but it raises the question: Why didn't he do it right the first time? It was a very simple design that took maybe 30 seconds. I hope this review helps anyone who's trying to decide on a good place for an enjoyable experience. This is not it! I've been here a couple of times. I love the day off rewards program and that you can make your appointment online. They have like a sign in system when you get there. Everyone's been nice. I went on a Sunday once I may be waited 5 to 10 minutes. That's the day that they are walking only. Otherwise, I'm usually seated immediately. I've been happy with my nails. Had to go back after 4 days of getting acrylic nails with GEL POLISH. paid $60 and left a good tip! ....had to go back because the Polish was coming off two nails.. peeling off. Very unhappy with this place! Had an appointment and waited 30 minutes for Philip to make an appearance. When he came to my seat he never said sorry or I'm running behind or even a good morning. He reeked of cigarettes!! From the time of my appointment to the time I walked out was 2hrs for a basic Dip. My nails were bumpy and uneven. I had to ask him to file a couple that were so bad. The salon was dingy and unfriendly. No English was spoken unless it was necessary for communication. The towel he used for me he flipped over for the next client. The tools he used were not sanitized like the other places I've been. Yes, I should have walked out before my service but they required a credit card to secure my appointment! I went to have an acrylic tip put on my thumb because it broke off and I decide to go somewhere else just to be able to fix it. First time going there and will be my last time. The employees there made me feel so uncomfortable making a big fuss about the acrylic powder was not going to match the other nails and I told them no problem, that I was going to see my regular nail tech soon. The employees took turns hovering over me the whole time I was there, invading my space and speaking Vietnamese back and forth. I was the center of attention. I told the nail tech to just color the nail with topcoat because I needed to remove myself from this establishment. Horrible service!!! read more

Worst experience ever. Philip was late and it was my first time there. He didn't acknowledge me but kept talking on his cell phone. He said he was a travel agent and he was booking a cruise. While he was on the phone he was removing my polish. When he finished his call he said he wanted to do some powder thing I never heard of. I told him that I always do my nails a different way. He told me I'm not in the nail business and I should go back to the state I moved from,and got up and walked away! I'm shocked to see mixed reviews on here because all of my experiences at KT have been wonderful. Philip and Tina are some of the best nail techs I've ever done business with and Nancy does the best pedicures I have ever had -- anywhere! The prices are slightly higher than other places in town, but the quality is MUCH better and it's well worth the price. My nails are healthier now than they ever were when I lived in Florida. I love this location! The employees are professional and nice. They give extra long massages, and their work is top par.

They're pretty rude here. Been here a couple times but what made me stop going was when I got this one girl who was very aggressively filing my nails and treating my hands and nails roughly. She was filing my real nails and it had taken me lots of care to get to the length and strength to get my naturally nails so long and she was hacking and filing so carelessly. I told her that she was hurting my nails was filing so hard she would get the skin on the sides and it would hurt. After asking she seemed to take offense and replied with a short ok and made a face, she did not treat me gently. I asked to wait for another tech to change chairs because I did not like the way she was handling me and I was waved away to a chair. She may have been having a bad day but I'm not going to spend $50-60+ getting gel with my hands being thrown around like yesterdays garbage. read more

Horrible experience. My services took forever because the staff had scheduled to buy cell phones from some guy in the middle of the day. He was there for over an hour and so the woman doing my nails kept leaving me at the table to talk to him and make phone calls. Our experiences have been great which is why we keep going back. I have never noticed anyone stating any form of dissatisfaction with their services. I would say disregard the negative post here and give them a chance. You will be come away totally pleased with the service and the pleasant atmosphere of the shop. This is the worst salon I've been to. I needed a mani and pedi because of the amount of traveling I'd been doing. I waited a while before they got started. The guy doing my services seemed like he didn't want to be doing anything. He pedicure was actually painful. When we got to my nails he kept asking me if I wanted my cuticles cut, I said yes. He asked me about 3 times hoping is hangs my mind, I still wanted them cut. He cut my finger so bad I actually bled so much that I needed Neosporin. I got a gel manicure, like I always do. He actually painted my nails first and then just filed them down... He didn't clip them at all. So I had to ask him to correct a few nails. My nails still feel uneven. This was by far the most not enjoyable salon trip of my life and I get my nails done every 2 weeks. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

15 years ago I moved to SImpsonville and tried several nail salons before landing at KT nails. They were fabulous. Always professional and always did an excellent job. I moved to Greenwood and continued my business with KT nails for many years. I moved out of state for about 6 years and returned to Simpsonville and to KT nails. I was greatly disappointed at the atmosphere and the service. It was the worst manicure I have ever had. I could not wait to get out. KT nails was sold and does not have the same owner/manager. Since moving back to Simpsonville I needed to find a nail salon so I tried KT Nails. I got the deluxe spa pedicure. The only thing I liked was my polish color I picked out. The bottom of my feet were rougher when I left than when I came in. I had to clip 2 toenails because they left them ridged. The technician never came back to check on myself or my friend. We had to check our own nails to make sure they were dry then with bare feet get on the dirty salon floor to find our sandals. We will absolutely never go back. I will not recommend this nail salon to anyone. read more

I wouldn't give a bad review unless something particular bad happened, which that bad something happened here. Personally, I had a nice enough guy do my nails. However, another nailist was particularly nasty and brash to my grandmother. She was rushing the job for some unknown reason, which would have been ok had she been efficient, but she was trying to cut corners- like using only one coat of paint. My grandmother mentioned this and she became angry instead of apologizing or fixing the problem. This lady was rough with her tool; she ended poking and pinching my grandmother. After addressing this with the woman, this nailist started to insult my grandmother (yes, insult). This nailist's body language and actions visibly signaled that she didn't care how her aggressive behavior effected others. In hindsight, she was also unessarily unpleasant with me. She should also be aware that openly speaking badly about any customer in any language is unacceptable. She eventually blew my grandmother off, and never didn't finish the job.
