Part truck stop, part convenience store, and part liquor store (!!) this place is a respite from the cookie cutter travel centers anchored along I-81. Perfect place to pick up staples like bread and milk - and alcohol if you're not subject to DOT regulations. They were running a rum tasting yesterday that looked quite lovely but we demurred for obvious reasons. One thing about me: Ima stay in compliance. I was blocked in for 20 minutes a few days ago By Truckers that pulled in fueled up then went inside ordered their lunch hung out and chew the fat with the employees that do not care to ask the drivers to please move their vehicles from the pumps so other vehicles can get fuel or be able to leave. And don't dare say anything to them about it because you will get an attitude back and the drivers think because they have to keep a log and are under DOT restrictions that it's okay to act this way. I drive past this station every day and rarely stop because there's no way to get in the parking lot. The food is mediocre you get a better quality of food at 7:11 Going 8 Miles up the road to Taneytown or down to Woodsboro is a better bet then dealing with this station. NOW TO THE ISSUE - there were two associates stocking the seasonal aisle and they overheard my conversation and loudly started making fun of me and the fact that I said "new last name and old last name". People change their names, it's not a big deal. It was very immature and unprofessional. I doubt I will be returning to this location any time soon because the whole situation really didn't sit well with me.
