Was I ever in need of a pit stop on one of my trips back to the homestead. I decided to take a different route home on this trip and ended up in an unfamiliar area. Even though that was the case I saw the familiar, welcoming, red awning in the distance and was relieved...both figuratively and literally. Most of my trips back home take place in the evening and makes for stops at gas stations the norm. Being a Sheetz guy, I always seek one out. This one is located right at the end of an exit ramp/beginning of an on ramp. What's a bit odd about this is that it abuts what appears to be a motel(?). So it is a bit odd to possibly have an audience while you are stop to fuel or stretch your legs. Inside, it is a decent size. Well stocked and organized. Clean and has a great flow. The facilities were superb and made for quick use. Once done inside I stretched my legs outside for a bit before I got back in my vehicle to continue my trek. read more

Felt that I had to make a statement just stopped traveling to Washington DC. Stop to get hot drink and food. Ordered 2 for 6 breakfast items. We sat at watched our sandwiches being made and we both looked at each other at the same time and could not believe the size on theses mini breakfast muffin and croissant being prepared. Totally the smallest breakfast sandwiched we ever seen. Honestly what the heck and how can you confidently sell such a pathetic looking breakfast item. will go elsewhere like rutters and or McDonald after this. Someone in company development really need to revamp and look at this. just suggesting. this in our eyes was a complete rip off. read more

The best thing about Sheetz and Wawa was the quick MTO ordering system that let you quickly configure the exact sandwich you want. BUT, we stopped in here last weekend and Sheetz has screwed up the MTO. It now asks you if you for sandwich UPGRADES every other f#$^@#^g screen!!!! Plus it takes you more steps to get through the "specials" just to get to your sandwich ordering screen. It is very annoying when you want to quickly order sandwiches for a family and it requires you to individually pass on upgrades for specialty sandwiches, premium meat, fries, double meat and a few other things. And they now charge $1 for cheese? It used to come with the sandwich. The whole process now takes a lot more steps. Next time I'll just go to Burger King across the street. read more

This Sheetz is consistent at keeping employees around for a while. Not too much employee turnover. It's nice seeing the same people in a business. The employees definitely get to know their regular customers. Plus, they always have Hazelnut Coffee Brewed: Thanks! read more

If I could give this Sheetz no stars we would first of all. We had to wait 30 minutes to get our food while the cashiers were talking. My coffee was flavorless. My boyfriends burrito was disgusting. I'm a fan of Sheetz locations, so it pains me to ding this location, but I had one of my few bad Sheetz experiences when stopping here on a weekday morning while heading south. Fueled up & stopped in for a MTO breakfast sandwich & frozen mocha. Placed my order & paid after waiting for a minute or 2 while a customer was having some sort of problem regarding gas. I paid & proceeded to wait about 10 minutes while no one prepared my coffee (I was the only one in queue) and 2 staffers continued to work out whatever problem the customer had. Finally someone made my drink & handed it to me at the pickup counter. My sandwich? Sitting up at the register where a staffer sat it when she joined the ruckus up front. The Sheetz stores in my area have stellar customer service - was really disappointed here...maybe just a bad day here - but next time I'll stop in elsewhere. read more

Sheetz is hands down one of my favorite gas stations/convenience stores drive largely in part by their "Meals on The Go," which are tasty and well-priced for what you get. The customer service is also usually above average for gas station fast food. I always stop at Sheetz to grab snacks and a lunch before heading out hiking for the weekend. read more

I have no idea how this establishment was given 3 stars... I'm not one to make complaints about my experience at any restaurant (especially fast food), but this has been an ongoing issue for a long time. I can handle ridiculous wait times (15-20 minutes for food), bare minimum staff support (teamwork related AND performance related), and overall negligence... but when it comes to the glorious moment I DO eventually receive the food I spent money on, I receive a poorly constructed sandwich with tinfoil jammed into the bun.. Unless "MTO Sub Salads" become a menu option, I think I'll stick to the sub I ordered but, ya know.. actually put together. If i wanted warm ingredients sloppily dumped on tin foil, I wouldn't have paid someone else to make it. Get it together. read more

I absolutely love the food here. But they run out of things. But that is because it's so popular, I would totally recommend this!!

Unbelievable and not in a good way. This place was packed at noon on a Saturday and there were three people working. The subs I ordered were not correct. Nothing was toasted as requested and I had the wrong cheese. People in the store were getting angry and agitated. There was no cold brew coffee. I will not be stopping by any time soon. When the town keeps all residents and businesses well informed of weekend activities and the businesses do not staff accordingly it is not respectful of the town. read more

Stopped in today for lunch. Ordered MTO food. Very quick service. Melanie was great. She was fast and efficient.

Sad and slow. People are nice and it's right off of 15 but don't plan on a quick in and out if you're in a rush for your food. If my food is going to take forever, I at least expect the cheese to be melted on a freaking cheesesteak. I'll be finding a different road trip pit stop. read more

Best gas prices in Thurmont if you're using the on and off ramps on 15 North. But...a crappy pump area to pull in and out of. The in and out of the pumps is filled with aggressive drivers hot to get back on the freeway. The motel nearby shares the parking access. It's one of the few locations in Thurmont for Redbox but the location of the dispenser makes it hard to see the screen when you're trying to pick a movie. read more

I receive "gas points" from the nearby Weis super market, which I can use to discount my cost-per-gallon when I purchase gas at Sheetz. I had 90 gas points on my Weis card - which would save me $18 on my 20 gallon fill-up. However, when I used the card at the Thurmont Sheetz, the pump did not show the discount as it usually does. I had to go inside to get the clerk. She came out to the pump and it did not work for her, either. We went back inside where she checked the balance on the card only to tell me it was zero! The pump had "deleted" my discount! I went to Weis customer service and had my points restored which, unfortunately, did not help me for this purchase. Since this happened, I've discovered I'm not the only one to experience this problem at the Thurmont Sheetz. I've used my Weis card many times at a another nearby Sheetz station without incident. So, when I need to use my Weis card again, I'll not be going to the Thurmont Sheetz. read more

Good "convenience store" for snacks and beverages. The food that you can order from them to make is "hit or miss" as people say and is comparatively expensive, I recommend fast food if you want a meal. The store is clean and slightly small. Prices are normal for everything (including "gas"), except the food they make. It's very normal. read more

In the last 3 visits to this store I have been completly disappointed. For a busoness just off a major us highway to be so mis managed is a shame. Slow service and associates that are less than friendly do not fit the shet image. They are consistantly out of some ingredient for the coffe statio, whether it's coffe, cream, sugar or whatever is not the way to run a roadside gas station/eatery. They have to either hire more people, and make them friendly, or revamp the entire place. read more
