As we approach the brink of nuclear annihilation, diesel prices are creeping up. Thankfully, we spotted this private fillin' station near our drop in Monrovia and were pleased when our Pilot/Flying J fleet card was accepted! Part truck stop, part convenience store, and part liquor store (!!) this place is a respite from the cookie cutter travel centers anchored along I-81. Perfect place to pick up staples like bread and milk - and alcohol if you're not subject to DOT regulations. They were running a rum tasting yesterday that looked quite lovely but we demurred for obvious reasons. One thing about me: Ima stay in compliance. And one thing about my husband: he refuses to wipe his camera lens. Enjoy these hazy photos. read more

A very good, local convenience store for snacks, hot and cold drinks, hot food, alcoholic beverages, and souvenirs. They serve multiple kinds of burgers and fried food. A vast selection of cold and shelved alcoholic drinks are sold here. Really a one-stop shop for your typical convenience store items. The customer service is also good. I stop here twice a year at least on my trip from Richmond, VA to Duanesburg, NY and back again. You pulled me in with the deli. Now this year both going and coming the deli was not opened on time. When one is looking forward to fresh food it is disappointing to be told the deli worker said they would be late. And rather than sympathizing with me the clerk was short with me and said well that's life. I guess it is. I'll be finding another location to stop in the future. Weekend travelers need food too! read more

Openly discriminated less than an hour ago. Stopped here to get gas and had to piss so bad I thought my organs would float away. Have been here before with no problems. Noticed the sign on the door banning anyone with a hat, mask hoodie or similar clothing. Seemed a little crazy but whatever. Went to the restroom and was told the men's room is not available and men are not permitted to use the restroom here. Saw a lengthy "letter" on the wall ranting about how men are the cause of all of the world's problems and the female owner is tired of cleaning the men's restroom. I was told men are no longer permitted in the restrooms, women only. For the record, the restrooms were really not clean before this new "policy" and I have seen plenty of women drop some pretty nasty loads in bathrooms over the years. My only regret is spending money on gas. I hope a woman craps on the floor, too. Won't be here again. read more

Purchased gas in the amount of likely less than 40 dollars. My credit card online information shows a pending charge of $150. They allege it is a banking matter. Now I need to monitor that this charge goes through at the appropriate amount. Pain in my ass. This is a sham. read more

Quick stop for a bottle of ice cold water, this convenience store was super conveient. Easy in, easy out. Massive selection of beverages and snacks here today plus aisles of booze and beer and wine. I was there just yesterday and got gas... I'm sorry I did. After filling up the tank I decided to pop into the store to see if they had a few things I needed. I was met with a sign on the front door prohibiting hoodies. It was a home made sign that to my mind made little effort to hide it's intention... if you are black, you aren't really welcome. I had a hoodie in the car and almost went out to put it on and test out my theory (I'm a cis gendered white male). Instead I decided to wipe the racist dust off my feet and get out of there. Kathleen L. is spot-on. Was just there this weekend and the pumps were not working - just stuck on "please wait a moment" and beeping-beeping-beeping! Tried three different ones, finally found one that works. Haven't experienced this before, but apparently it's been going on for quite a while and isn't being addressed. Why would you build a big nice-looking place like this and then not keep the pumps working? Makes no sense! Three stars because it's a nice place when it works. read more

CHEAP GAS. That's the main thing. I make a point to stop here because according to my gas app this has the cheapest gas along this road for a while. That alone mandates a stop. But beyond that, it's still worth a visit for snacks. The BBQ isn't the best I've ever had but if you're here and hungry it's worth it. But cheap gas; that's why you visit! read more

The pumps at this gas station are awful--I get gas there multiple times a week and there is, more often than not, an issue with the card readers at the pumps or the pumps are offline. These issues have been going on for months now which is why I finally decided to write a review. Nothing convenient about wasting time due to faulty technology--Please get the pumps fixed. read more

Pretty cool place to stop and stretch the legs for a bit. I've never seen so many options for liquor anywhere. It just kept going & going. There's a small deli where they will make sandwiches or burgers. The staff were super friendly. I picked up 200 gallons of diesel while here as well read more

We love this little convenience store when we're in the area. They have a nice selection of snacks and drinks, and we can always find something to keep us going on our trip. The alcohol section is amazing! And the prices are equally amazing! For instance, they sell moonshine from the Gatlinburg/Smoky Mountain area distilleries cheaper than it is here. Impressive. On a side note, this store has a special place in our hearts. A few years ago we rescued a dog in PA and were bringing her back to NC when we stopped there to purchase something like a tupperware bowl for her to drink from (we were totally unprepared!). I asked the gentleman at the counter if they sold them and told him what I needed them for. He said, "Hold on a minute. I think I have something that might work." When he came back, he had a white plastic container from the kitchen area that used to contain (I think) BBQ pork. It was clean and all I needed to do was go to the restroom and fill it with water. It was that kind gesture that has made us stop there for gas and snacks every time we pass there, which is several times a year. read more

This is a clean, well stocked, country quaint convenience store. The prices are reasonable for snacks, beverages (including liquor), personal care items, clothing, blankets, and gifts. The rustic decor is visually appealing, from flooring to giant varnishes wooden spools. Clothing in camouflage patterns has Mountaindale's. There are two individual restrooms. Stalls would be more accommodating. Today, someone was in a restroom a long time, so with only one restroom available a long waiting line formed. Gas stations are many; add restrooms and the place will be 5 stars. read more

The right kind of roadside gas station and convenience store in just the right place, in Thurmont on the way to Washington and Northern Virginia. It's brand new and is part gas station; part liquor store and part convenience store. They could use more bathrooms (they only have ONE) and maybe that's by design, I don't know. They have Donald Trump Christmas ornaments, plastic grill lighters that look like AK-47s and Orange and Camouflage hunting hats and shirts. The people who work there are friendly and welcoming and we'll probably make stopping there part of our road trip routine whenever we drive up to Pennsylvania! If you're anywhere near this place, stop in...I'll bet you'll enjoy it! read more

Talk about a selection of wine and spirits. They've got it! 30 or 40 feet of cold drink coolers. Very warm and welcoming decor. Super clean. A deli that serves lunch and dinner food. Never been there for dinner so I don't know if they serve something else for dinner. I can always strike up a conversation with the cashiers at the counter. Everybody has always been friendly. Really friendly. I love these people. I always have questions about a certain wine or liquor and they are always more than willing to help. Good size fuel island for big trucks and about six parking spots if memory serves me right. Always a pleasure stopping here. Liquor store in a gas station. That's all right by me. read more

Highly recommend going to this newer location and NOT the older location- especially when buying alcohol. They have a bigger selection, but also nicer people with better attitudes working. I usually go to the older location, but last night there was an employee I hadnt seen before who gave me a lot of unnecessary attitude for "looking too young to buy alcohol" (even after I showed her my ID and explained I've only been 21 for a few months). I had a crap day and was trying to be nice and make a light hearted conversation about it, but she was rude through the entire encounter. I would not be treated like that at the newer location. read more

This store posts "Masks Required" signs as they should. All customers were practicing social distancing and donning masks sensibly, but the young man behind the register was not. When I requested he put on a mask before ringing me up, he refused. There are many safe and COVID compliant businesses in the area ready to serve you. Don't put yourself at risk! read more

They have really good chicken salad and their pizza is yummy, as well. (It comes with A LOT of cheese.) The service is always a toss up .. you have a 50/50 shot of getting glared at for asking for a fork and some napkins which should be standard if you are ordering a salad. read more
