Generally I'd say that Costco has better selections at a higher quality. The one feature that has Costco beat is the scan and go feature on their app. I can scan each item from my phone and it generates a shopping cart. When I am ready to pay I can pay right on the app with any card I have on file. It creates a QR code on my phone and I can skip the lines and walk straight out the door! There is a scanner before the exit that counts the items in your cart and if it matches your receipt the attendant just waves you on. If they're is a discrepancy the attendant will scan the QR code on your phone and might rescan to confirm the purchase which is really quick. Word of advice. Remove personal items like purses, umbrellas or jackets from the cart before going through the exit scanner because the computer will count them as well and that can slow your exit.

When driving from the DMV it feels like the right thing to do to avoid all those highway backups, but in reality, it's not good for your bladder. I was nearing bursting on a stretch of road and was ready to pull over at the first gas station that I saw. At that point, I had no idea where I was or how far I had gotten. I had tuned out the GPS because my eyes were glued to the road to find a bathroom. I finally came out of a tree lined stretch of road and saw the illumination of a gas station. Wawa. Not necessarily my first choice, but I was happy to see the awning once around the trees. Pulled in, parked, nearly ran inside straight to the restroom. Now the one thing that all Wawas seem to lack is their cleanliness of their facilities. I don't know what people do, or don't do, in these restrooms, but they look like the ones you would find in a horror movie. Ones where they have been trashed beyond comprehension. Like how is it that the walls have paint rubbed off of it. All you need is flickering lights and you're set to be the next victim in the upcoming Wawa horror movie. Listen, even though the facilities were not presentable, I still needed to use them. All that horror makeup of the facilities faded away as my bladder returned to E. Outside the facilities, this isn't a bad Wawa. They still do have a lot to offer. I'm still not happy with their food, but I do like the swift convenience offered at the counter. Grab a drink, go to the counter, ask for an item and I was outside. With a lot of my car rides back home I always need to stretch my legs before I get back in the car. I was able to take in a phone call at the same time. While outside, I noticed that this place wasn't very busy this time of day, very early in the morning. I walked inside of the store, placed my order, socially distanced as I stood in line, and when I got to the cashier to pay, I presented my Rewards Card, and was charged full price. When I inquired as to why the 25% discount wasn't honored the cashier said "that's for online orders only". Strangely, that is NOT mentioned on the billboard, nor on the flyers posted inside the store. I went ahead and paid full price for the item, then patiently waited near the pickup counter when the gal working behind there said "they didn't have enough chicken tenders prepared." I didn't have time to wait and didn't want bone-in chicken as a substitution. I buy the chicken tenders for my pet as a treat, and I buy them every few days, but usually at the Hedgesville Road location. So I told her to forget about it and I waited again in the line to get a refund. Upon returning home, I went to the ROCS website and lodged a complaint. You would think a loyal customer (they can verify via the transaction history) would minimally get a response. As of today's date -- no response. For good measure, I wanted to test out the online ordering portion of the mobile app (new version) that I had on my telephone. I am such a loyal customer that I have FIFTEEN 25% off promotions on my card that I haven't used. I tried to order online, but again, the 25% would not be honored, not even on the online order. The card I have in my possession and registered with the site has an 800# that doesn't work, and the listed email for "help" doesn't work either. I called the local office on John Street and got voicemail, so I left a message. I have gone to the Hedgesville location at least 3 more times since the Kelly Island fiasco and asked the sales clerks for help and no one can seem to figure it out. One fellow told me he asked the manager about my issue and they have no clue what is going on. The clerks at the Hedgesville location did give me a discount when I show them on my phone all of the points/promotions I have accumulated. As as act of good faith, I picked up the new brochure and a new ROCS Rewards card so I could possibly register a new card. When I go to register this new card, although inputting all of the numbers and registration code correctly, it tells me that it is inactive or the input was incorrect. I have made numerous attempts and know the inputs are accurate, although the system seems to disagree. Since from the website, I received no resolution to my complaint, I went to ROCS Facebook page and sent several messages. At this writing, it's been 6 days now without a whisper from anyone representing ROCS. I decided to email ROCS direct at their stated email address of help@rocsstarrewards.com, and the email continuously gets bounced back to me. I had no other alternative than to place this truthful and candid review of ROCS Convenience Stores because of their lack of professionalism in attending to customer needs. I haven't been to Sheetz in YEARS because I have been loyal to my "local neighborhood store", but I am highly considering making Sheetz my new go-to. It will either be that, or the new Rutter's that will be going in nearby. I will convey, that the staff at the Kelly Island store was rude and insincere when they "apologized for the inconvenience." But in contrast, the staff at the Hedgesville Road location have always been fantastic, friendly, efficient and helpful. I am currently weighing my options.

The two men continued to talk ignoring me at the front glass. A man with black hair soon after opened the sliding door. When I walked in there was no greeting or acknowledgement. I went and pick up my groceries and took them to the counter. The other man who was older with glasses never gave a greeting the whole time he was checking me out. After I received my groceries the only thing he said was do you want your receipt. Very bad customer service.

The men in the butcher shop always know which the best cut and type of meat is right for my many different recipes & also always offer a less expensive way to make them that will yield the best results. You might ask why I know so many of their names; it's because I shop there all of the time. Never have I been to a "Super Market" like this one where every employee actually cares about each and every customer & it shows every time. I Love this store at Old Court House Square.
