They sent their technician Jennifer out within hours, who was very professional and explained how their treatment wold work. She treated the area inside, as well as the outside perimeter of our home and the inside of the garage, all for the original price quoted. The staff is rude. I waited a whole week for them to come back to my unit and my kids and I spent hours removing everything from the kitchen cabinets I had to drop my dog off at a family member's house just for them to return and tell me because I had my coffee maker on the counter and some things on the fridge that I would have to wait a whole other week just for them to come back. We told the guy that came out that we could quickly remove it and he was rude and said no he was not waiting and just hurried and left. The only reason why I am dealing with this company is because my apartments hired them. Would not recommend them at all! Update: First off your guy did not even show up until close to 4 pm, my kids and I would have to be out of our home for 6 hours since my oldest son and I both have really bad asthma. The time that your guy came out before was a decent time in the morning when your guy came to address the issue in the first place. Would make sense if you are being told that you have to basically be out of your home for 6 hours, that you would schedule him to come back earlier in the day for a serious spray situation. Also seemed like this guy was more in a rush to get home and not due to having to go to another location. He also blamed my office manager and said it was them who told him that if everything was not removed he could not spray and had to move on. Also removing a coffee maker and the things on top of the fridge would have taken 2 - 3 minutes max. I understand that the spray could contaminate my belongings, but not only was I home my 16-year-old son and male neighbor were with me and we could have certainly removed the items quickly with no issues. Everything else was already out of the cabinets and wiped down. I have already contacted my property manager and they even agreed that was not ok, especially since I have been waiting over a month to get this resolved. The property manager will be contacting your company with this complaint as well. We have been dealing with a mud wasp problem for years! Every year we try what ever we can find to get rid of them, its been a constant battle. Well this year we were recommended Highlander and were told they had a repellent that would keep them away and eliminate the ones that might be there. A little skeptical if it would work, I called them up. The person showed up when they said he would and was very friendly and professional. He sprayed all the places I asked, that had been the hotspots for the wasps in the past, and answered any questions I had. Still skeptical if it was going to work or not, I told my wife that we will see in a couple of days if it worked or not. Well guess what, its been a week, and I have only heard a wasp 1 time since then, and I think it was flying around to see if it could find a home, after buzzing around for a bit it flew away. I am so happy that it worked, and we will be getting the wasp spray every year from here on out. read more

I would never touch this pest control, again. They do the polite thing at the door which makes one think they have great customer service. But they do a totally inadequate job. You are throwing your money down the drain, if you use them. They refuse to touch the cobwebs, even though they are spraying for spiders! What kind of service is that? They said they could not touch the cobwebs because this is a "private property". Last year they told me they needed to be back in two weeks but they never showed and so their work was as if they never came! Makes me wonder if they even sprayed around the rest of the property outside. Don't throw your money down the drain with this horrible company! Unbelievably unprofessional. Been waiting for hours for them to show. Called to check on the status @12:08 when they were expected from 9-11. Then, I call back at 1:46 when I still heard nothing back from the receptionist only to find out that the guys who were *supposed* to be here from 9-11 FINALLY showed up at 1:20PM to slip a notice on my door without ever so much as knocking on my front door. The notice said they, "must've missed me" and they were gone. So, with all my possessions in the middle of the floor in every room, I'm frustrated having taken the time off from work to get my apartment all ready for them and so that I could be here to let them in and they fail to show up at the expected time and fail to let their presence be known when they do arrive. The receptionist tells me she never heard back from them after I first called and then gives me the number to the "supervisor" who turns out to be the guy who never knocked at my door. He says the receptionist never tried calling him and proceeds to take no claim for his late work or his lack of professionalism on the phone. He then makes threats that when he's expected to come back Monday that he'll make sure to be extra late again. Not professional, to say the least. His name was Jake and it was his attitude over the phone that made a review necessary. I'm frustrated that I called them after they were an hour past the expected time slot, 9-11, and that I was never called back to be told they were running behind nor did I hear back to let me know they were still in the area. Instead, after them being 2+ hours late, I call back again to find out they'd gone. Had they coordinated their efforts better between receptionist and the exterminator then I would have been able to receive them. Jen was rude and insulted me saying my apartment was unclean when I had spent hours scrubbing the floors and counter with bleach and disinfectant before they supposedly spray for fly infestation. On top of that she failed to leave a notice when I could safely return after she sprayed. I had to call the property management office to find out it would be 6-7 hours before I could even safely return to the apartment. No follow up. Rude service. Questionable if they even spray anything that worked. Still have bad fly problem. I told them fly coming from walls and inside vents. No solution provided. So this company came to my daughters house for inspection. on ringer camera you can see how aggressive they are with their sharp tools. You can hear them commenting how much money they can make on repairs. on camera you can see the man hitting my red cardinal windchime I had just bought. He caused it to fall, one of its wings are broke. He picks it up, put on table. No note, nothing in report that they broke my $25 windchime, and putting holes in the wood. Wood is solid. Also instead of using their own ladder, they went and used my son in law's ladder. Aren't companies suppose to use their own equipment. I'm very upset with this company. Not professional. read more

Hi people I live at Westwood apts and have bedbugs.i told leasing office and the next day a really nice man very clean cut and well mannered .an I thought showed up.keep in mind I'm 51 and very disabled.he showed me the bugs.i threw out bed couch.they sprayed 4 times,I light off 6bombs,4traps,and I won't reveal how many pounds of diamauos earth (spelling)enough to do the job well I received notice after notice saying prep there coming.well I'm packing, prepping 4 them,and battling bugs.well confronted them not showing up.the clean cut guy lied straight to my face and said they knocked.wrong one time I heard him at neighbors door.went in one and a half minute later,they left.he said they knocked and no awnser,wrong I was on matteress behind front door well now the next time they show 3 guys enter going in different rooms.in bed room matteress is flipped over sheet tore off thrown in powder along with computer mouse.and left.shouting the powder scared the bugs into hiding.well at least they know when to hide and when to run.then the kitchen guy pulled out fridge .leaving it for me to run into face first.they ask me if I'm being bit ,I say no.he said there here I found them.well goody gum drops.i reported it.they coundnt find any.now I'm having to clean up every thing before they can spray and hopefully clear my apt.but that isn't going to happen.job secerity.ill post more pics you determine who knows more.i did a lot of research and I'm not getting button up,and my bugs are in hiding high lander says we'll I would like to know where there hidinf. I live in El Dorado Hills. A couple of years ago I noticed the beginning of a termite infestation in my garage - a single mud tunnel coming down from the ceiling. I immediately called a pest control company (big name). They inspected and said I needed an entire home treatment (drilling through all my stamped concrete) and that I must sign up for a year-round service to the tune of $4,900 plus bi-monthly service at $200. Thankfully I got a second inspection by Highlander, and for less than $400, the infestation was treated and no drilling through my concrete necessary. Most recently I saw what I thought was another mud tunnel near the same place in the garage. I called Highlander and they came out within the week. Thankfully, what I saw was a slug/snail trail not termites. Highlander didn't even charge for the service call. I highly recommend this company, they are honest, trustworthy, prompt and they will get all my future business. read more

They never show up when they say they will and dont call or inform you as to why they didn't show. Usually give you a 3 hour window and no call no show. When you follow up they have little information to give at that point either. Just will call you back, which also typically doesn't occur. read more

Can't believe they even call themselves a business. We have been sprayed 4 times for bed bugs and after they found a bug (which was dead!) claimed they needed to come back for a fifth time. It feels like they do a bad job on purpose just so they can come back again. On top of all this they give you 8 hours windows of time they might show up. Which you must be out of the house for 6 hours after they spray essential taking up your entire day with no remorse for time wasted. read more

This is a very slimy company. Do not use. They cannot be trusted. We will be reporting them to the Contractor State License Board Association as they are not licensed as a contractor. They lied repeatedly about our house that we had just put up for sale. We had a house inspection the day prior with a different company with no dry rot. Also my husband is a plumber and former home-improvement sales license holder and no wood needs replaced. These guys came out for what was thought to be a pest inspection which was odd being that they didn't even bring their own ladder. They used my husband's ladder but did not use it inside the house to inspect the attic and also broke a windchime on the house without saying a word. When you poke a house for inspection you don't hit it 10 times as aggressively as possible in one place. He was trying to break wood and the other guy would say oh look peeled paint that needs replaced that's got to be rot. We have had pest control all 4 years of owning this house and have never and do not have termites. My husband is familiar with the team sales technique to take advantage. They were taking advantage of a young realtor who has only sold one house prior. The house is completely solid as the house inspection said the day prior. We will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau. They straight up lied about our house repeatedly about it needing work done and how much they would charge and how fine of a job it would be. They are not even licensed to say that and send an estimate. That is completely illegal. And the naïve young realtor believed every word and in the process scared off the buyer of our house. There is nothing wrong with our house at all. Nothing need replaced. Shame on you as a business. You should also not use other people's items without permission and you owe us a wind chime. read more

If I could leave a review with a 0 start rating I would. Highlander is contracted through my leasing office and came out to do an inspection. After a quick 3 minute inspection in which sheets weren't lifted the company determined we had a bed bug infestation, when we asked for the signs they were very rude and gave only brief and vague answers. We then requested another company come out and our house was cleared, since our property is contracted they could only take confirmation from this company so they again sent them out for what would be a 3rd inspection. On the 2nd inspection by highlander they sent the same guy as before and when we confronted him about not seeing the signs as well as another company not seeing the signs the guy again became very rude and refused to do an inspection but lied and told our leasing office it was completed and scheduled an appointment to come out( which we told him he we didn't want). We then had a reputable company with a bed bug sniffing dog come out who were able to not just clear our unit but also conclude there were 0 signs of bed bugs ever being in our home. The man not only flat out lied or is completely incompetent at his job (no bed bug experience on my end but even I knew we didn't have them) but was also very rude and condescending throughout the entire process. Happy we won't have to them in our home again especially since in my opinion it seems like he may be scamming people to get the extra business. read more

Do not use this company, they came out to remove a wasps on our patio. They sprayed the nest with chemicals and left it there. Subsequently it fell, soaked in pesticide, and my kid found it before me. They failed to provide the name of the pesticide on the notice of completion, and could not tell me what it was when I called. Also, they are required to give you access to information regarding the pesticide. Their notice states they are on their website, but their website does not function. read more

There are very few positive things I can say about Highlander. They initially told us the work would take about 2-3 days, 7 weeks later and three expired contracts we were still arguing abut work that needed to be done. I would call it a nightmare, but those only last a few hours and then you wake up. This was truly a horrible experience. read more
