I just finished a six week PT session post Hip replacement surgery. I found everyone there to be professional friendly and very knowledgeable. They listened to my concerns and how I was feeling. They didn't push me to do something I didn't feel comfortable with but encouraged me to keep trying. I am very pleased with my outcome and always felt like they really cared and had my best interests at heart. At my last session They sent me home with exercises to keep me on track. The office staff was also very friendly and helpful as well. I would defiantly recommend this facility for anyone in need of Physical Therapy. read more

The physical therapists are absolutely wonderful!! My gripe is with the office staff ... Tina has a long history of calling us to change the times on our appointments every week; and she has even taken it upon herself to cancel two of my appointments, without notifying me in advance, because she had "issues" with those days (I complained and she reinstated my appointment). I'm flexible, and if the P.T. is out sick, or has an emergency, I will definitely approve a cancellation, but that wasnt the case. Tina is just a flutter-brain who can't run an office ... In fact, she even decided by herself to reduce me to two days a week instead of the three days I already had (so she could fit in new clients) ... totally unacceptable and I challenged her on that to keep myself at 3 days a week!! I got tired of the headaches ... and I'm not the only one who had issues with Tina. She has a lousy reputation but nobody wants to say anything because she's the owner's wife. The final straw came the other day with ANOTHER voice-message asking if I could change my appointment time because the P.T. wanted to go home early. When I called to say that I couldn't do it and to voice my criticism of this ongoing practice, Tina's sister Gina tried to "guilt trip" me by saying that the physical therapist (the owner) was only coming in for us in the first place (hey, he's the owner, and that's what you do when you're the owner) ... Then Gina lied and said that we were called to change the time "as a convenience to us" (after the other receptionist already informed me that it was to convenience the owner so he could leave early). Gina just rudely talked over me in a condescending manner until I told her that she apparently wasnt going to allow me talk and I hung up on her! I called back to say that my mom and I were going elsewhere for our P.T. ... But that wasnt even the end of it ... I called back to ask for my records and was told that Tina had to "approve" it ... what? They are my records ... why does Tina have to approve my getting my records?? Then Katie hung up on me! Anyway, I left a message on Tina's phone that I wanted my records and she never called back ... To me, Tina (owner's wife), Gina (Tina's sister), and Katie are totally unprofessional ... and probably blamed the whole fiasco on me ... I'm much happier with Access P.T. in New Paltz ... good riddance to Tina, Gina and Katie!!! read more

I had given up hope finding a quality physical therapy facility in New Paltz and highland , I tried them all and usually lasted 2 visits. I have multiple issues and have had multiple surgeries and procedures to keep me ambulatory with crutches. I'm so happy that someone encouraged me to give them a try .Daria the PT is wonderful and the atmosphere is very positive and encouraging. And believe me all PT's are not the same. I have to been to facilities where treatment consisted of heat packs and tissue massage through your shirt. I would definitely recommend this facility especially Daria read more

I was very disappointed in this facility. All this office is concerned about is the payment that they will receive. I was not told about a pre-authorization from my primary doctor needed for my appointment. When I arrived for my appointment, they refused services after a 45 minute wait. I was appalled by the treatment of this office in Highland, NY. Following my original office date, the office manager, Tina, was relentless is having me book an appointment for a future date. For my visit, upon refusing services, the practice imposed a "no show" fee of $125 to my credit card. A "no show" fee for a patient who is refused services is a very bad business practice. I have never experienced such negative treatment as was imposed by HPT. Please, please never give your credit card number to this office. The owner, Tina, is unethical. It's all about the financial-gain, not healthcare, in this facility. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Please find an alternative medical practice for your physical therapy needs. read more

While the PT staff is really great - the office staff is the absolute worst I've ever experienced in any medical facility in my entire life without exception. The office manager is Tina (apparently the owner's wife - so no chance in anything changing unfortunately). The following is the third instance - although this was the worst. I got a call just a couple of hours before my appt. to ask if I would like to have an "alternate time". I was a bit perplexed. I asked what about the appointment time that I had already - and Samantha said "well, there are issues with that". I said what do you mean issues?...am I getting a choice...and what do you mean by issues? She said well, I'll have to have the manager (Tina) call you. So I get a call from Tina who immediately in a brusque and slightly rude tone of voice tells me that "I wasn't listening to Samantha?!" I said what do you mean? What are the "issues" it wasn't clear? What about my appointment? She said well "we needed to change the schedule around to accommodate someone else and needed your appointment time - you know we have to do that sometimes - peoples transportation problems etc.". She's made up stories in the previous instances in a bumbling convoluted way - so I shouldn't have been surprised. Then she says "well you've have 21 sessions already" as if to say you've been here a lot - you really don't need PT after all this time do you? Then adding "Did you just have surgery?" I was absolutely dumbfounded that she had the gall to discuss my PT Rx and the progress which is actually none of her business - it is between me and my Dr. I mentioned this to a couple of friends later and concurred they had never had any medical practice cancel their appt. to give to someone else. There is no excuse for this grossly unprofessional behavior - and I expect that the only reason it is allowed is that the manager Tina is the wife of the owner Jeffrey Gersch. She would have been fired if it weren't for that most likely. read more

Therapy is good BUT they keep cancelling appointments. If you're supposed to go twice a week and they cancel 1 appointment EVERY WEEK, then you're not getting the therapy the Dr prescribed. I would not go back. read more

A complete waste of time. The therapists are actually good but they take too many people at one time. I have received maybe 15 minutes of PT in every hour visit, spend the rest of the time waiting for a therapist to return. The wife of the owner is the receptionist and is very load and extremely annoying, and called me 50% of the time asking me to change the time of my appointment. The son of the owner is a 'helper' who is constantly talking about his jeep and bragging about going out and getting wasted. I have heard a story that he was telling one of the therapist two times about how he slipped his little cousin Benadryl in her drink to shut her up. He is 23 years old and does nothing there but annoy the clients. Maybe if he was forced to help and actually do something it would relieve the burden of the therapists' way overloaded schedule. I have switch to County PT in New Paltz and am actually getting physical therapy. I would surely recommend County PT to anyone. I have wasted many hours at Highland and am very resentful. I really feel sorry for the elderly people who are going there and really not getting any help, and not knowing any better. read more
