Lived here just shy of 5 years with my husband. Was hesitant because of reviews of this place but it was not what it seemed. For being so close to downtown Fullerton and the college I was expecting it to get loud on the weekends. It was always nice and quiet. Parking was annoying if you had two cars for the one bedroom considering you only got one parking spot. We eventually moved into a two bedroom so once we had the second spot it was worry free. Mikey the property manager was always very nice and personable. Sometimes she was forgetful over minor things but when it came to leaks, something broken, or problems it always fixed right away. The things that sold me about this complex as well is that the rent was not outrageous like the complex's right next door. We did not have to sign a lease it was just month to month so when moving out you just have to give a 30 day notice. No pet rent, and we had three cats at the time. The only cons would be there's only one wall AC Unit in the living room so it would get hot during summer in the bedrooms. And also the shared laundry. But that was not a deal breaker cause the laundry room was always well kept. read more

Lived here for almost 2 and a half years. The complex is clean, quiet and well maintained. The price for the area is beyond fair and the studio was a great size and layout- it didn't feel like one large room. Parking can definitely be tricky, a problem to be expected. My boyfriend and I lived in a studio here for about a year and a half after college and it was the best decision. It is full of lots of grass and trees and most people had plants and flowers on their balcony. Very quiet at night as there are not too many units. The studio was very spacious and the balcony is very large. The management is very nice and responsive. Late in the year I found a crack in the toilet and it was completely replaced by the next day. The pool area is nice and there are community grills that people cook on often. We personally loved being on the grill, in the pool, or on the balcony because of all the trees. Been living here for about a year as of October, at first I was hesitating to move here because of the negative comments on yelp and google, but I only looked at the negative comments of this place and other complex around this area and to be honest this place has great spaces for storage and guess what.. all the shit talking about management is so dumb.. she was the best landlord compare to other roach infested complexes lmao. This place maybe old but it is maintained well and pest free. Plus when I was in the marine corps and when the government shutdown happened this year actually.. Mikey understood and helped us out by splitting the check into two instead of one whole which I appreciated so much, no other landlord will do that for you. Parking is bad yes.. but that's fullerton, people who lives in LA and come here you will see why theres no parking on the streets because people here doesn't know how to park and leave huge spaces. If I was the city I'd paint the parking spots on the streets and I can guarantee you the cops are gonna make over their quotas and can go home to their families from all these tickets because seriously people here are so lazy to move their car by 5 inches and they leave huge spaces... if they did consider other hard working people who needs to park too they could have saved over 5 parking spots. I have lived at Highland Meadows for the past 7 months and I've enjoyed my stay here, immensely. My apartment is a studio apartment - but it feels more like a 1 bedroom apartment - because of the 12ft living room ceiling and the separate area for the bed - which you can close off with curtain and it's accessible to a large walk-in closet and a full bathroom, with a private bath. Also my studio has a full kitchen with a built-in microwave and dishwasher. The property is also gated - which is nice and the property itself feels very park like setting - with lots of trees throughout the property and in the spring time - there were wild ducks swimming in the pond out front. Also the management is great. They are very responsive to any need I have contacted them about and anything that needed to be replaced or checked out was done within 48 hrs or less. I really love my studio apartment and I will miss not living here - but I have a new job that I started this summer in Alhambra - which is about 25 miles away from my apartment in Fullerton and the drive everyday of 50 miles roundtrip is just too taxing on my car and on me - dealing with the 5 fwy everyday - which is truly a daily nightmare that I hate - so I got an new apartment in Alhambra that is 15 minutes from my work office and the idea of not having to deal with the fwy everyday to get to work is just to good to be true. A woman named Mikey manages the complex with her husband, the handyman and lives on-site. The husband is friendly but the Manager is simply a piece of work. I have been here two years and ever since we moved in, she has lost our rent checks twice, she has come into the apartment unannounced while at work out-of-state, they turn off water in the afternoon unannounced on occasion... Its gotten to the point where she will allow others to have plants and flags on their patios but I cannot.... For several months now she has had her eldest son to try to stare me down every time he sees me in the parking lot or even while shopping at Target. Aside the horribly mean lady, my car got broken into last year and stole 100$ in tools. If you pay more than 1700 for a 2bdrm just look next door at highland pinetree instead read more

I just want to start off by saying this place made me feel like I was at home. Everyday I loved driving in through the gates here at Highland Meadows. Mikey the manager in the office is the best thing that this place has. She's just a pleasure to see always so friendly, she really cares about her tenants. I lived here for 6 years and I miss it everyday. If there was ever a problem with my unit her and her staff were quick to fix it. We have lived at the Highland Meadows Apartments for five years now and have no intentions of ever leaving, that is unless of course we win the lottery. I have lived in many apartments, and Highland Meadows is the best for many reasons. The landscaping is meticulously kept and there are beautiful flowers and foliage year round. No worries about a dirty pool or jacuzzi. They are both kept very clean and when my grandkids come from out of state I have no qualms with letting them use either one. When the need for maintenance in our unit arises, emergencies are handled immediately. When we put in service requests for non-emergencies the response time was more than reasonable, and they even took extra time to make repairs that were not requested, or that were just annoyances to us. I have even had to call in the late night as I had locked myself out and they were there to let me in. The units are located at the end of Highland Avenue in a cul-de-sac. I believe that being at the end of the street is an advantage. The complex is quiet and I feel safe walking out to my car or the laundry room, even late at night. The remote operated parking gates work well, unlike other places I have lived where they were always broken. The Laundry Room is well maintained and I have never once had an issue with theft that was a common occurrence in other places I have lived. Another advantage is that it is just a very short walk to Target. No need to get in the car and drive to pick up that gallon of milk or other necessity. My experience with the management has been nothing but positive, and kudos to anyone who deals with a myriad of different people on a daily basis and does so with a smile on their face and doesn't make you feel as though you are just another tenant. read more

Highland Meadows is a great apartment complex if you're looking for quiet place. Everything worked well other than few quirks. Our studio was fully remodeled with new carpet and wood floor. It's their new layout and it's amazing. The laundry room has enough washers and dryers and it was kept very clean. I was astonished by how respectful our neighbors were and Mikey the manager was so helpful. It was our first time and she helped us through every step and was very informative. The reason why I gave it 4 stars: There is very limited parking , if you have more than one car it will be very difficult to find any parking in Highland Blvd. Highland Meadows only gives you one parking space unless you get on the waitlist for the second. Im so done with this place. Just so happy to leave. This place is old.. not modernized nor updated. The management takes forever to repair things. The worst part is the husband of the manager and his twin brother act like they own the property. These two men are will stair you down and talk in spanish as they pass you by. Its frustrating because I do understand what they said. They seem to think that just because you look like you dont understand spanish they have every right to talk smack about you. The manager herself is very nice though. Also, the laundry place is always a mess and there is always something broken in there. I lived here for so long that I am relieved to be parting ways. They never seem to appreciate long term occupants here. And if you end up moving out, dont expect your deposit to be hand back like the other review. read more

Moving from a house to an apartment was hard for me but I had no choice. I always said I would never want to live in an apartment again. This complex changed my mind. The apt. was very clean when I moved in. Anything that needed fixing was fixed immediately, once even when my vanity sink fixture exploded in a gusher of water they came out right away, it was in the middle of the night! I can't think of any amenity that isn't in this complex. A large pool, sauna, jacuzzi, basketball court, tennis court, club house, gym, pool tables, covered parking, gated parking area, good size laundry room with brand new washers and dryers, water fountains in front, nice size patios for each apt. Walk in closet, not to mentions a dishwasher and microwave oven. This place has it all. My one complaint is the people who do the gardening use the loudest blowers they could possible find but with all that I have here I can put up with that. read more

I was a resident at Highland Meadows from 2007 until May of this year. I lived in a few different units, and I was incredibly happy with my experience there. Highland Meadows is safe, clean, and in a convenient location. Not only did I live there, both my sister and my cousin had apartments there as well. During my time there, the manager, Micalene Reyes, was wonderful. Anytime we had an issue with maintenance, or a problem with noise from a neighbor, she was super responsive, and all of our concerns were addressed quickly and appropriately. David and Jose, who do the maintenance, were always willing to come over ASAP for even the smallest thing. They are easy to reach and communicate with, and Mikey really cares about her tenants. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the new laundry room is great! I would just like to add that I am a real estate agent, I myself lease properties to tenants, and deal with landlords all the time. I have never met anyone more committed to serving their tenants than Mikey. I had to move for work, otherwise I would still be living there. read more

I have lived at Highland Meadows for about 5yrs and just recently moved. I loved the complex and moved into 4 different apartments within the complex while living there. My main complaint is lack of parking. Management was always good to me. However, upon moving I Never received my deposit or prorated days back. This is the 2nd time I didn't receive my deposit back. I moved from a 2bedroom to a 1bedroom because I broke up with my BF. I asked about my deposit (which was over $1,000) and never got it. I moved from the 1bedroom back to a 2bedroom so I could get a roommate and save money. A year later I got pregnant with my 1st child. Once I got pregnant I moved with Dad. My last move I asked about my deposit and prorated days. Yet again, I got no response and 3mos later still no deposit/prorated days. I am 9mos pregnant and unable to work and need my $. Due to not receiving 2 of my deposits, I am giving a low rating. I am deeply upset about not receiving my deposits. I was a loyal tenant and referred several ppl to the complex. read more
