We only had one night in Manchester and made a reservation to try out this Michelin spot. We got bar seats to watch the open kitchen work on the various dishes throughout the night. It was fun to watch their coordination and planning in person. There is a tasting menu option available, but we wanted to try specific dishes so opted out.
We had the Grilled what cabbage with blue cheese, Lyme Park venison, Coal roasted Orkney scallop, and the Cane sugar cured trout. The service was excellent, with our server patiently explaining each dish and elements. The dishes themselves were interesting, with new flavor combinations we haven't come across before (like pear ketchup). Definitely a lighter dinner fare, as there isn't much quantity to be shared. For example, the scallop dish was literally ONE scallop.....so some plates you have to order two to really share in any meaningful way. You may leave hungry if you are have a larger appetite, but we were comfortable.
Worth trying as a special event to explore new flavors! read more
