After failing to make any progress with another tree service business, I contacted Southern New Hampshire Tree Service and haven't had any better luck with them. I called on July 23 and Keith, the owner, came out the next day to assess the scope of work I was requesting. He repeatedly stated that "this is a big job" (and that is true, my property has been neglected for 13+ years & I have many trees, of varying sizes, to remove). He suggested that I get estimates from at least 3 to 4 different businesses and left without providing his estimate. I was dumbfounded and wasn't sure what to do next (I had the distinct impression that he wasn't interested in doing the job). Being as he came on a Friday, I had to wait out the weekend before I could contact him again. When I did call him, on July 27, Keith told me that he'd have to rent a crane to do the job and that would increase the cost considerably so he'd said that he would send me a list of other businesses, that own their own cranes, for me to contact. As I write this, more than two weeks after, I have not received any information from them. Since this is the 2nd tree service to have failed me, I'm, maybe foolishly, beginning to think it might be personal (perhaps because I am disabled).

He was able to schedule the work within just a couple of days, called the night before to confirm the appointment, and the five member crew arrived precisely on time. They were hard-working and professional and finished the job in about an hour. Clean up was EXCELLENT! They ground the stumps, mulched debris, and raked and smoothed the surfaces so well you'd never know there was ever a tree there. I highly recommend them!!

Kirk reassured me it was safe for at least a few years. Well, last week, just 10 months later, I turned the corner to park in my driveway and there was a massive 30-foot limb that fell from the tree. My neighbor told me it had JUST fallen, meaning it missed crushing the car with me and my child in it by mere seconds. I called Kirk to complain and ask that he trim back any additional problematic limbs free of charge. Instead, he left a $4800 quote to entirely remove a tree he had said was fine 10 months before. When I called him to talk about it, he was patronizing and rude and told me I needed to "research the weather." Then the kicker: "You seem upset," he said. "Why don't you have your husband call me?" Went with Lopez Landscaping since they had the smaller equipment and manpower to get the job done. The tree was quickly removed but it was a 3 star maybe 3.5 star experience because of the additional work needed to coordinate everything. The good: - competitive quote and they were able to come by quickly to assess the work - flexible in bringing equipment that worked with tight openings - main tree removal was done in 5 hours - removed paver stones so they wouldn't be damaged by machinery - friendly and professional. They accommodated a special request to cut a section for a table The bad: - rescheduling was a huge pain. We had to go back and forth for 3 weeks and I had to proactively follow up to confirm if they were coming - unable to grind the stump as part of the initial quote so had to pay another $400 for them to come back with a different machine - never got an invoice despite asking for one multiple times To summarize, this seems to be a nice family business that has experience removing trees quickly. However, it doesn't appear there is a back office that keeps everything organized so you're going to have to do a lot of work to stay on top of things.

They were amazing, they communicated extremely well, and did exactly what they said they would do. They had to use the crane to lift the trees over the roof of my house, nothing even came close to my house, even though some of the area's they worked in were really tight. They dropped the trees close to the ground, then the ground crew pushed them into the street BEFORE anything touched the ground. Throughout the process they had the blowers running, making sure my yard stayed clear of any debris. When they were finished, they again blew the yard to remove any debris, and cleaned the street as well. There wasn't so much as a leaf left behind when they finished! The entire crew was friendly and communicated very well throughout the entire process. I can't say enough good things about the crew that did the work!
