The next time that I am asked for a recommendation for a knowledgeable and professional tree…read moreservice I will without hesitation recommend Collins Tree Service. They came in with a fair bid to take down my failing double maple tree. The crew arrived, and worked with each other like a well-oiled machine. They seemed very enthusiastic to get the job done, to take good care of each other, and very respectful of me. I wish I could have stayed during the rest of the day to watch them work! When I arrived home from my office at day's end, I found my yard cleaned up and that they had appropriately ground the stump so that I can now re-seed grass in its wake. I work at a well-respected law firm in Concord, and colleagues are always asking for the name of contractors with whom people have had a good experience. I will confidently and without hesitation add Collins Tree Service to the list the next time someone asks. They were a sincere pleasure to work with, and I give them an enthusiastic double thumbs up.

Bill came to our property about a month ago and gave us a price to remove 5 trees that was very…read morereasonable. We set a date (over the phone) about a month in advance, which was today (8/17). He said his crew would be here at 7:30am, since removal of the trees would take almost the whole day, including stump grinding. At 9:15 I called to find out where his crew was, and he said he wasn't sure and would call me right back. A half hour later, I called him back (he never called) and he said he didn't have the appointment in his calendar. I'm not sure if he just wasn't going to call back or what, but I didn't ask. Anyway, he never once said sorry, but he did keep repeating that it wasn't in his calendar, but that he would call me back later in the day to reschedule. It's been 2 days now, and guess what? No call. Very unprofessional. It's 2018. It's not hard to call someone back, or to put a name in a cale UPDATE: Bill reached out to me almost immediately after posting this review and apologized. Then, he was extremely responsive while we worked through rescheduling. His crew completed the work recently and they did a fantastic job. The price was reasonable, and they even raked our grass and cleaned the street next to our house. Excellent work!

They do not stand behind their product.  The main reason I chose to hydroseeded was that they said…read moreit was a special formulation that would hold up well to rain and would provide more even coverage.  I'll let the pictures speak for that - they show large bare areas and overall very thin coverage 29 days after seeding. They do not communicate with customers and they make no effort to correct communication issues they have.  I called after 2 weeks to ask for a follow up seeding and was told to wait another week. I waited another week and it didn't fill in, so I called back.  They said they would get me in by the end of that week. The end of that week came and went with no call and no answer to multiple voicemails that I left. I called the beginning of the next week and was told that would be here Wednesday if the weather was good.  After another no show for a perfectly sunny Wednesday and no call, I called and was told they would try to fit me in by Friday afternoon. They finally came 3 weeks after I made the initial request, hoping that the seed germinates before we get a frost. During the first visit, they had some kind of issue with their truck and leaked a lot of hydraulic oil on the street in front of my house. They couldn't figure it out and moved the truck down across from my neighbors and leaked a lot more hydraulic oil onto the street in from of their house. The person who answers the phone could not answer my questions about fertilizing and mowing timing, and said somebody would call me back to discuss.  I just gave up after multiple calls requesting to talk to somebody that knew. Also, they did not answer requests I sent by email using the "Contact Us" link on their website. I would have moved on from this company but wanted the same seed and color where I had large bare spots so I felt trapped.  I don't usually leave reviews, but hope this one will make potential customers think twice.
