They do good work for a very good price. read more

This is a premier tree service company! We saw them doing work up the block and call them for an estimate. The estimate was super reasonable and scheduling a job is even easier than getting the quote. They came today. We're at our house for about four hours. When they left, you couldn't even tell that they were there. They left the property immaculate. We were super impressed with the crew that did the work. It seemed like each person was an expert at whatever it is they were doing and synchronized their work amazingly well. Can't say enough about Gate city tree service, I highly recommend them for any tree work. read more

Gate City Tree Service did an amazing job removing 20+ trees from my yard. He and his crew are ultimate professionals and conducted the work safely and quickly. His crew cleaned everything up like they were never there. Kevin was very thorough in explaining how the tree removal process would be conducted, and the job was completed, exceeding our expectations. I would highly recommend Gate City Tree Service to anyone who needs trees removed. Kevin and his crew removed many large leaning trees over our house with efficiency and precision, ensuring our property sustained no damage. It was amazing to watch them make the technical tree removal look easy. This is a testament to their training, experience, and customer service. Lastly, Gate City Tree Services' prices can't be beat! The estimate and final cost were right on the money, and the work was completed as promised. You will not be disappointed with the service they provide. Thanks, Tim & Jen Casey read more

Gate City Tree Service - Tree Services Near Me

Kevin and his crew are professional, courteous and thorough. They know exactly what they are doing and do it well. It was interesting to watch the process (though not as dramatic as when they removed 250' dying pines in our yard 14 years ago). They cleaned up our yard and are definitely worthy of a five star review. read more

The "GO TO" Tree service in the area. I have had the pleasure of using Gate City Tree several times.Kevin and his crew always do a great job. They are professionals that have to deal with lots of moving parts and do it well. My neighbors have thanked me for introducing Gate City to them. Let's just say that our street has seen Gate city Tree Service many times. Even during this Covid-19 crisis, Gate City didn't miss a beat. Cannot say enough good things about them. I contacted Gate City Tree about a 20 year old arborvitae in our yard that appeared to be dying. I got an email back promptly. Kevin called and I gave him more details. He came out that day as he was in the area, looked at the tree then called back shortly after with detailed professional advice. He gave me his diagnosis and quote to have it removed. His rate was reasonable and I will not hesitate to call him when we decide to have the tree removed. read more

Kevin and his whole crew took down a massive old maple for us that was destined to cause trouble in the next major snowstorm. From initial contact to sweeping up the sawdust this company does the job and does it right. They were courteous and knew how to get the job done. They even managed to avoid having to call the electric company to take down wires while working. The crew all communicates really well with each other using radios when they couldn't see each other directly. They were also flexible when we added an extra tree to come down at the last moment. They were safety conscious not just for themselves, but for us (watching) and our neighbors too. Best of all they are responsive when you call and send someone out right away. I would hire these guys again in a hot minute if I need any more tree services. read more

A recent storm burst that came through our area took down half of a medium sized tree in our front yard. Never having needed tree services before, but familiar with Gate City Tree Service from my years growing up in the area, I contacted them the next morning, and Kevin was out within two hours of my call to assess the damage, provide a quote, and advise on the stability and life of the portion of the tree that was left standing. The next morning, he was out before we'd even gotten ready to leave for the day, and in under twenty minutes, he and his team had removed the fallen tree, cleaned up all the debris left behind (including the stack of branches I'd had to trim to keep the tree off of the roadway), and swept up any remnants left behind from chipping the tree. I was really impressed with Kevin's demeanor and attention to detail in removing any trace of the tree that had fallen, and I will be keeping Gate City in mind whenever I or anyone I know finds themselves needing tree services in the future. read more

Although Gate City Tree cut down the 7 tree's they agreed too, after cancelling once, they left 2 different 5' x 3' hollows in the front yard after not putting wood under their tractor, so the grass was completely ruined. After many calls to Kim and Keith, I finally got a hold of Keith who said he would be down later that week to look, never happened. 3 weeks later when he did show, he said he'd be back to fix it. My husband had already tried by laying new seed and watering plenty. Keith never showed back up again. We were left with these huge, grassless indentations in our front yard. Not only are they not reliable, they're word isn't any good either. We are still trying to make the grass grow. Kevin Dadley Nashua, NH read more

This is the third time Kevin and his team at Gate City have helped us. The first two were planned - not this time. A huge pine tree came down on our front yard during the night. I called Gate City at 7 am the next morning and they were at my home at 8:30 and had the tree gone, the yard raked and lawn damage repaired by 10 am. Just outstanding. read more

Kevin and crew were all professional, and courteous. Removed five tree from my yard and cleaned up afterwards. Fair pricing and I would use again for tree service. Highly recommend! read more

We had some long long trees on the edge of our property that we feared with our harsh winters would one day come crashing down on one of our neighbors house. These trees where on a slight slant of of the trees where not entirely straight. Total of 5 Trees 3 where straight easy ones higher above the harder two the long ones at the edge. We called him and he assured us he could do the work with a bucket truck for a fair price. He came cut the 3 easy trees, and said he would come back for the other 2 when the weather was better and safe for him to enter his truck safely. MONTHS passed by with plenty of dry days. We called him a number of times at one point he stopped answering! I ended up calling him on a friends phone and he picked up! He gave me a BS story about how he cant do it and promised next week. I called him again when he did not show up on that day on another number seeing as how he was avoiding me. I cut it to him straight While I might not have been the most pleasant with him on my end I can tell you this was one of many blown appointments!! He got angry at me to the point of being unprofessional and demanded I pay him 400dolars for the 3 trees he did cut down. We had enough of dealing with him. Paid him and he left. What a nightmare that people who we did call had to bring in a crane to remove the trees. They said there was no other way to do it just for liability reasons alone and that since we had the crane out they could have removed the 3 trees Kevin cut for half of what he had charged us. Kevin is unfair, dishonest, and a liar. read more

We hired Gate City to remove some trees to improve our view. They arrived when promised and cleaned up afterwards. The crew was professional and polite and helped take down a hanger in a tree by the power line. We obtained several estimates and they were all within 10%. We used GCT because they had their own crane and didn't need to subcontract out that work. Our neighbor used them to remove some large pine trees and they came highly recommended. Communication can be difficult - I had to call several times in order to speak with someone to set up an apportionment. Keep calling, eventually someone will call you back. read more

Kevin Fredette and the Gate City Tree crew were very professional and timely. I had a large oak that was dying removed. The tree was not in the best location, but they took it down with ease. I would highly recommend Gate City Tree Service. read more

I called the company on November 20th of 2020. As of March they had still not shown up to do the job. Again I called the company. I was told they would be here within a week. Well now it is June 3rd. and the job has still not been done. I realize it is a small job, but still not one I have a way of doing. I am going to call around and get another tree service to help me. Kevin and his team, once again delivered on Price, Performance, Professionalism, and Cleanup. I will use no other service company, other than Gate City tree. The team did an outstanding job removing (8) BIG trees from the property. This was a big all-day job and I've already had a some neighbors ask: "How the heck did they do this job without damaging your yard and leaving a mess". Well my response is: "That's why I choose Gate City Tree. It's like hitting the easy button. I just never have to worry about things like that". THANK YOU GATE CITY TREE SERVICE! read more

Kevin Fredette, and the crew at Gate City Tree service are top notch. After a recent ice storm, we had a storm damaged tree leaning toward our house. This was during Christmas week and zero degree weather. We called several tree services. Kevin from Gate City was the only one who came by within hours. Kevin got us scheduled for just two dates later, and the price was so reasonable we had them remove four more trees while they were there. The brought a huge crane and lots of other equipment and did a clean, professional job in only a few hours. We are definitely going to hire them to do some stump grinding in the spring. I would highly recommend Gate City Tree Service. read more

They were right around the corner from my house and were working on my neighbors house. I had one tree to remove and some trimming to do an another. I spoke to Kevin who seemed nice and said sure wed be happy to help you out, I left my number with the office and spoke to Kim, seemed nice until later they decided not to follow through with what they said they would do.. All they had to do was swing around the corner and build some goodwill and make another 1000.00. They blew me off and then blocked my number. After they said ok to doing it and then decided not to, I feel it warrants a review since if you look at other similar reviews, this is their pattern. Not responsive and not courteous. Id recommend going with another company since they are a dime a dozen. read more

EXCELLENT service and work. Called yesterday and Mr. Fredette showed up this morning, gave a very reasonable estimate and said he could do it now. My eyes bugged out when I saw how very reasonable his price was to remove 11 stumps. It's all done, and it took him very little time (about a half hour). I recommend Gate City Tree Service heartily. Great job! read more

Very happy with this company. Kevin was able to give me a quote very quickly that was by far less expensive than a couple others I received. It was fast friendly service, and I'd gladly use them again. read more

Top notch service and work. Kevin and team will come with a competitive price and get the job done the right way.

I have used Gate City Tree twice in the past 6 months. The first time, I had over a dozen trees cut and a dozen trimmed and then in the past week I needed to have even more trees removed. Sigh. These have been difficult trees to remove - very small lot, lots of obstacles on the ground, overhead power lines, dense foliage, very busy, narrow street...basically a terrible lot to work in. Kevin and his crew at Gate City Tree did a great job doing these two projects. They performed the work quickly, cleaned things up and did a had a great price. If I need to call them again for more work, I will. Rudy read more

I recently hired Gate City Tree Service do some pruning and take down a tree in my side yard. I called on a Wednesday, did the estimate with the company the following Monday and they were able to come Thursday of the same week to complete the job. I'm not an expert on tree pruning or removal by any means, but I was very pleased with the job. There was an obvious improvement to the trees/area with little sign of someone having come in to do the work, meaning there were not branches left all over the yard or any other debris after the job was finished. I did not call around for estimates from other tree service companies so I cannot say if the cost was overpriced or not. I did not feel that I was overcharged. The staff I dealt with (I believe it was the owner and his wife) were very friendly, professional, and appreciative of the service. I would certainly use this business again. read more

Absolutely LOVE Gate City Tree! Have had them do 2 other jobs in the past and just had them back for a big job. Massive trees in tight quarters. As usual the crew worked with the precision of surgeons, quickly, safely and when they were finished they cleaned up so well that you would never know we had the work done. The crew worked like a well oiled machine and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. HIGHLY recommended. I would never use any other tree company. Gate City Tree out does them all with quality of work, great value on the pricing, timeliness, safety, etc. etc. I could go on but you get the idea. read more

The Gate City crew arrived on time and completed the job professionally and efficiently. I would certainly consider them for future work.

I would like to comment on the service I received from Gate City Tree. I called Kevin and set up time to quote my job. He showed on time, looked all the trees I wanted removed, and gave me a great price which depended on the crane operator evaluating the area. Kevin followed up the approval of the quote and scheduled the job. When the day came Kevin called at 7:00 am to ask if we could reschedule due an emergency job after a storm which landed a huge tree on a barn about to be destroyed. We rescheduled for the next week and they arrived right on time with a full crew and large crane. The process took 4 hours. They removed 5 trees and stumps, clean the entire area including the street, which impressed the neighbors. The whole crew acted very professionally and did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend Gate City Tree for your next tree service. read more

Kevin cut down 16 trees around our home and we were most pleased with his professionalism and that of his guys. He gave us a great price (we did get two other quotes), and did an excellent job managing the project. Great job, guys! Originally hired for one tree, we ended up having this great crew take down three tall (over 90') trees and we couldn't be happier with their work. Everyone was what you look for in a business today: professional, courteous, hardworking and, well, just plain nice (which was really evident when Kevin, the owner, helped a woman navigate crossing the street by holding her arm and walking slowly with her - something you don't see very often!). They worked quite efficiently and we were surprised at how quickly they got everything done - not only taking the trees down but cleaning up everything so that you wouldn't even know they were here. Very impressed by this company and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them - great price, great employees and great job! read more

Very pleased with Kevin and his crew. Cut down 7 large Pines. Got it all done in one day. Crew was very nice! I spent a lot of time outside watching and they came over to me a few times to explain the process and answer my questions. Cleaned up beautifully, the yard and the street. They came back two days later and ground all the remaining stumps (and roots!) Kevin was very accommodating when talking about price, especially when we asked for stump grinding as well. Kevin recommended an excavating company so we can finish off the lawn and he will be here in a few days. Very happy with our decision to go with Gate City Tree Service! read more

We hired Gate City Tree Service to cut down some very large Pine Trees , We called others and they did not even want to touch them because a few had been in a very difficult spot, They cut around 20 trees for a very reasonable price . They arrived when they promised , they cut down half, and came back as agreed upon to cut the other half down. They where professional and would recommend them to anyone needing their services. read more

My mom called Gate City weeks ago to have a few trees removed from her yard. He missed his appointment, and never returned her calls after, so my mom hired another person to cut them down tomorrow. I passed her house today finding Gate City cutting down trees (she was at work). When I told my mom, she called them immediately and he said his wife called and confirmed the appointment for today -- there was no appointment, and definitely no confirmation!!! My mom called the other company to cancel their appointment and told them what happened, they knew immediately who she was talking about without even telling them. They said they pull this all the time and the owner always "blames it on his wife". The owner of Gate City basically called my mom a liar when she told him there was no confirmation and told her to leave payment in the door for tomorrow. Completely unprofessional!! Also, he didn't cut down all the trees requested. I will say though the yard was cleaned up nicely. Also, in response to the review above about them not being insured, he told my mom they were. So apparently they're swindling pieces of shit. DO NOT HIRE. read more

My husband saw gate city tree company working in our neighborhood recently and thought it would be a good idea to ask them for a quote to have a tree removed, as well as, 5 stumps. To our surprise the owner of the company, Kevin, came immediately to our property to give an estimate. We had previous verbal quotes from others that were very expensive. When Kevin arrived at our property he took notice of my husbands veteran license plates. He promptly shook his hand and thanked him for his service to our country, and explained that he currently employs several veterans. He then proceeded to write him a quote, he shook his hand again and without explanation, handed the quote to him and said to give him a call and he could get it done within the week. The quote was more than reasonable. Kevin is a perfect example of a hard working American and is why my husband fought for our country. We thank him tremendously for his services as they were excellent, fast and very affordable! read more
