Hot Lobster Roll with fries! Yum! Server was engaging with menu options and recommendations. Not disappointed.

Traveling through- and when lunch is skipped, early dinner it is. Lobster roll didn't disappoint.

We were greeted upon entry and could pick our own table. We were served quickly with waters and bar drinks ordered. Our server Zeljana was great and brought us drinks: i highly recommend 'The man from Nantucket"...... reminded me of a Hugo (an Italian Spritzer). I ordered the Broiled Hallibut Plati and my husband ordered a shrimp linguine dish with garlic breadsticks. Both were fantastic. Very generous portions and I took my salad home to have for lunch tomorrow as it was more than i could eat. I also highly recommend the caramelized cheesecake . It was amazing!

Have you ever been so pleasantly shocked but you just don't know what to do? That's what happened tonight. We had intended to eat at a different restaurant, however, said restaurant was full, and this was a back up. When we called they said we're empty so we said fine we are on our way. We arrived and the interior was interesting, not bad just interesting and we thought OK we'll just get a quick meal nothing right home about. It'll be fine. However. Fine is not enough to describe it. Don't walk, RUN to order the broiled haddock plaki. What an AMAZING surprise. Flavorful haddock with feta tomato and lemon on top, perfectly sautéed zucchini and yellow squash, and a rice and tomato combo that was absolutely shovel in mouth inducing. Other dishes that were described as out of this world included the atuffed haddock, fried clams, chicken tenders, and don't get me started on the FRITES!! Paired with a can sauvignon that was an excellent selection by the bar team, I was in heaven and had to be rolled away from the table. Absolute perfection in every bite!!

Excellent service! Theresa was great! We changed tables because the window was open& we were chilly and she was super nice and told us to pick any table we liked as it's important to be comfortable. The drinks were good (should add price to menu). The calamari was amazing and cooked perfectly. The sweet chili aïoli sauce that came with the scallops goes better with the calamari than the marina. The bacon wrapped scallops were delicious and should be part of the permanent menu (if they aren't). There seem to be a lot of locals there, which is always a nice thing to see (& a good sign). We would recommend this place if in the area.

The most amazing spring's rolls & crab dip I have ever had with a yacht club water view! Family owned heart & soul into this place. A/C & heated modern sports bar inside with lots of tvs.

Located in the old Time Out Pub, they have some really good work cleaning up the inside and outside. They have a large bar and tables inside. Martinis are dangerously delicious! I've been here twice and sat at the bar. Service was amazing and bartenders were excellent and very knowledgeable and friendly. The food tasted super fresh, temperature of everything was spot on, and tasted amazing. The ahi tuna is my favorite! I've also tried the wings and the sauce was delicious and not something very common.

Pan seared scallops on butternut squash purée

The pan seared scallops with butternut squash purée is Amazing! Stuffed haddock was good. Lobster stew was good and had a large piece of lobster in it.

Four of us showed up on a very busy Saturday, with the sign read "hiring for all positions"…read moreThat itself was concerning, but when then I asked the server how the bloody Mary's were she just shrugged. I told her that many places rave about their bloody Mary's and her response was "I think bloody Mary's are fucking disgusting." we had a good laugh, though I was rather shocked by her response. I skipped the bloody Mary and went with a hot cider (yum) and then when it came time to order, I questioned what I would dare choose. The four of us went with BLTs and we agreed they were about the best BLTs we'd ever had.

We settled on Waterworks and it was great! Despite our walking we weren't overly hungry and so decided to split a turkey club (another benefit of splitting it was that we could have onion rings!). The staff couldn't have been nicer - and although it was a bit slow, when the sandwich arrived it was perfect - yummy real turkey on sourdough with a nice lettuce and tomato, crispy bacon and just the right amount of mayo. We opted for onion rings - and they are the good kind - thin, crispy, not frozen. It was all totally delicious.

Sat at the bar since they were quite busy and haven't had a chance to clear a few tables. Restaurant reminds you of grandma's house, rustic, chic tables and chairs, mismatched dinnerwares and the whole ambiance playing "killin jive" from the 1940's. I wasn't born then but the whole vibe reminds you of that era that I only get a pleasure to watch on TV. Now for the food... Jonah's crab as you can expect was sweet and delicious but a pain to eat using your fighting tools however, the dip was heavenly. BF had the burger, he was surprised that you can't modify it, but thoroughly enjoyed how unique it was, I told him, the chef takes pride how he prepares his food, so you either take it as it is or get something else. Keep an open mind. And I had the overnight beef shank, wow, simple yet delicious, fork tender and luscious marrow. The celery and fennel salad added brightness to the dish and the blue cheese wasn't overwhelming. And I don't like blue cheese and this creativity made me wanting it more. The dish isn't a huge portion, but surprisingly it got me full that I left a few bites of the beef and the salad. For drinks, I had the Rosé and he had the New England India pale ale, light and bubbly. Service was okay, a little slow in the beginning and as the night went on, our server became friendlier.

The meal we ordered was the worst I have been served in a restaurant. It was an oversalted, tasteless mishmash of ingredients that should never have been sent out of the kitchen. Kind of like a super expensive gruel. We considered voicing our dissatisfaction to the staff, but after reading how the owner unprofessionally confronts customers, we decided to not get into it with him. We chalked it up to a bad experience and next time we'll head across the street to Ada's, which is consistently solid. The server was pleasant and the drinks were good.

I had a Black Manhattan cocktail, supposedly differing from an ordinary Manhattan by use of a different kind of bitters (Amaro) and "filthy cherries." These seemed like basic good quality maraschinos to me (3); nothing "filthy" about them. Nevertheless it was good, fruity, and ample strength. The appetizer selection was small and heavy on bread-based items. (No free table bread was available - grrrr.) Most didn't appeal but the Roasted Garlic did, served with bread (2 kinds: a toasted crostini and a fresh crusty sourdough). The garlic was a whole head, sliced open for easy access and presented on a very hot plate, sweet and mellow from long slow roasting, and served with a choice of cheeses (molten blue, brie, whipped feta, or chèvre) - I chose chèvre and it was very good and a generous portion. A very simple dish not often encountered in restaurants. In retrospect this was the best part of the meal. I felt a little rushed at times and impatient at other times. It took a very long time to get the appetizer so I had nothing to dilute the effects of the strong cocktail. But then more than once I was asked about my entree before I was ready; once when ordering the appetizer and another time soon after I received it and hadn't made up my mind yet. I held my ground and told them I wasn't quite ready, and they accepted that and I took my time eating. There was an eclectic selection of wines by the glass. I had an interesting rosé from Slovenia. My entree was a roasted fish filet (halibut I think? It's no longer listed on the menu) served over a tomato-based sauce. This sauce was richly scented and complex and the plate was attractively garnished with micro greens. But the fish was on the small side and the flavor was monotonous - no discernible browning on the top. The other component, probably an herby cucumber-yogurt sauce resembling raita, which should have been a cool complement to the hot tomato broth, instead was melting unattractively and dispersing into it. Perhaps most disappointing, there was nothing else to this dish. It needed a starch or something (rice, boiled potatoes, or even more of those very good breads from the appetizer - wish I had saved some.) So it's good I got the appetizer first, or I would have left rather hungry. Desserts were also very limited and most didn't appeal. I decided on the Clafouti, which is a baked tart, thicker and heavier than flan, with fruit (black cherries) It was way too hot, didn't have enough fruit, and ice cream would be a far better choice than the amorphous blob of whipped cream it was served with. I should have skipped dessert. It was so boring. As for ambience: it's a crowded, noisy place but in a pleasing way. Very small, and I had reserved one of the 6 seats at the bar (I was dining solo). It's whimsically decorated, like with the grape-covered nude statue holding a candle. There was attractive artwork on the walls, some of which I believe was for sale. I did detect smoky odors coming from the kitchen that other reviewers have noted but I consider that a positive thing, not a negative. So come here if you wish. Check it out and form your own opinion. As for me, I wasn't sufficiently impressed and wouldn't return.

I think the problem is that it's been given a pass for so long that now it's reputation is untouchable, and this unfortunately is going to be a humbling post. It was highly recommended to us by our hotel during our stay in Rockland, and we went the first night, of which they were booked out but no problem at all, it smelled so good we decided to make reservations for the subsequent night. So we did. Mind you, let me caveat and say it's also always a challenge to eat at Italian restaurants, because it means that someone has to make a sauce that's better than you can make it home, and that's normally not the case, save a few exceptions. So we came back, excited, and ready to be blown away, because of the house made pasta, because of the amazing aroma, and because of the beautiful ambience. However, all of our meals fell short. Spaghetti & meatballs, the meatballs were quite dry and somewhat crumbly, and the sauce while yes fresh still had no flavor. The pasta, which was probably most of the excitement for eating there did not taste as delightful as you know fresh noodles should taste. Pizzas were just ok, and although the eggplant Parmesan was cooked well, again the same sauce was used to flavor it and was still non descript. Our server was phenomenal in good news, checking In repeatedly, saw the uneaten meatballs, and asked if there was a problem, which I just replied they weren't quite what I expected. Also, the vibe in the restaurant was amazing. So if anything I would go for that, but food would not recommend.

We learned of it from locals and decided to give it a try. It was a bit rocky of a start, someone didn't really know that we were there, but when we asked we had service recovery that was off the charts. We had a very nice Chardonnay. and because of our initial wait we received the cajun shrimp appetizer that was absolutely incredible and served with homemade chipotle cocktail sauce - so good and perfect with the wine. I then followed that with an order of chicken wings that came with buffalo sauce and blue cheese, Wayne had the fettuccine Alfredo that was also excellent. Although no longer within the blues festival grounds, we will totally add it to next year's plan!

Ordered the fried haddock sandwich too. Soup arrived with steam (before the spoons to eat it came) but the soup was actually not that hot when we tasted it. We had to wait for spoons. The bowl of lobster bisque was $34, which was a conscious decision for us to order - because that's expensive. (A cup is$20.) The lobster bisque had no flavor. The salt, pepper and lemon we added ourselves helped but for $34, it should be amazing. It cooled off super quickly and was room temperature within 3 minutes and in 8 minutes or so, cold. Which means it wasn't truly heated through and through to start. We regret ordering it. The fried haddock sandwich had zero flavor. None. Not salt, not pepper. The fries and Heinz ketchup had the most flavor of anything on our table. When the sandwich came we asked for another plate (we were sharing it), which never came. At one point, the waitress came over and asked how everything was. I replied, "Eh, alright." She said "Okay!" and walked away. Disappointing since, budget-wise, we are eating out one meal a day of this trip and that was the experience (and lack of flavor) we had. $66 including tip. Such a waste. Sorry to say....but skip this place.
