Captain Jason is outstanding! He brings so much energy to the boat! The boat rides great and has everything! Ac, leather couches, plenty of room to fish, the right fishing gear for everything and great seating from up top to watch. We wanted sailfish, and we got sailfish! He seems young, but has over 20 years experience. If you're fishing in Key West, this IS the best charter! We've done 25 charters on the east coast and have usually had good luck with the crew, but Jason takes it to a whole new level. We will definitely be fishing with Jason again. read more

Our day could not have been any better! Jason and Matt were great to fish with! My wife and I brought our two kids and one of our daughters friends along for a half day trip with High Stakes. We didn't know what to expect but the team did not disappoint! The boat was amazing - their was an AC portion that was really comfortable for the kids when they weren't fighting with the fish. The boat has state-of-the-art equipment to help us quickly get on site and hunt fish the entire time. The fishing gear was top notch - definitely felt like we had the best you can get. Both Jason and Matt were super patient with the kids - very helpful in explaining what they were doing throughout the journey and also helping them bring in the fish solo. We caught so many Mahi-mahi - also caught tuna, wahoo, a pesky barracuda and Albacore. Matt cleaned the fish as soon as we returned and the kids were sad the trip had ended. Would definitely recommend and recommend the full day charter - once you get out there and the fish start biting - you don't want to cut it short because of time. read more

Awesome crew, awesome day. We caught dolphin and wahoo and had fresh sushi on the.l boat. Captain Jason runs an efficient operation and no time was wasted. First Mate Matt was a hard working machine that made sure everything we needed was tended to and that all lines were tip top at all times. The boat is super comfortable with a private head and air conditioned cabin. There were times I would lay in the recliner in the air conditioning and when I heard the whizzzzz of the reel I would run out and real a fish in. Highly recommend this crew and this boat. read more

These guys were AWESOME. Jason runs a great boat and keeps the action going. Fish were flying on the boat and the boys were having a blast. Jason made sure to get us out there earlier then was advertised and made sure our time was longer then expected. I true professional. We rented out High Stakes Charters for 3/4-day fishing trip and couldn't have been happier. I have been on alot of chartered fishing trips before, and this one hands down had the best boat I have ever seen. The boat had a wonderful air conditioned inside cabin where we could cool off with a private full bathroom. We had a blast catching Mahi Mahi and enjoyed eating our fresh catch later that evening at a local restaurant. Captain Jason and Wade were very professional and very eager to catch us fish and make the most of our trip. It was a great experience and I will highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. read more

After reading all the great reviews on tripadvisor, my friend and I were really excited about booking an 8 hour off shore deep sea fishing charter with High Stakes. The first mate "guide" A.J. was great...attentive, enthusiastic, humorous, and professional. However, we only caught 4 small fish the whole day. After 5 hours of trolling, we finally caught 2 very small mahi mahi, and another got off the hook. After over 2 more hours had passed, captain Don asked if we could stay out a couple hours longer to try to catch more fish, and of course I said yes, we'd love to stay out longer (because we had only caught 2 small fish all day). Shortly after that, we caught a small (12lb) wahoo and a smaller king fish, and then they pulled the lines in and throttled up to head back in at the 8 hr mark, so we didn't get to fish any longer as we had been told. I thought they might try some other type of fishing since we were having no luck, but there was no suggestion of it. Our trip was in mid to late March, which is supposed to be a good time of year for almost all the fish except marlin. I wouldn't recommend this charter. read more
