Captain Joe and Joel (the mate) put us on the fish! We had continuous action once we got to the fishing grounds and brought enough fish home to feed us for several meals despite it being a "slow" fishing time. We hooked a sailfish but didn't land it. Joel was very attentive and easy to talk to and earned his tip. Great guys , awesome trip, will definitely be back to book with them again.

Just a few words about our trip with Captain Joe and First Mate Stan on the Jolly Roger II. The one word that sums up the experience the best is "INCREDIBLE"!! I do not know where to begin. From the moment we walked up to the boat we felt welcomed as part of the Jolly Roger family! There were 4 of us taking the ¾ day fishing trip. Me, my wife and our 2 sons who are 16 & 18. First off, the Jolly Roger II, for being an older boat in years was very, very nice. Sure, it showed some age in places, but it has been taken care of so well. Stan, the first mate keeps it immaculate! He had it all cleaned for us and had it cleaned by the time we got back to the docks at the end of the trip. For the entire fishing trip Stan worked his but off to make sure we had baited lines in the water and landed all the fish we caught. Our desire was to catch fish on this trip. Captain Joe made it happen!! He had told us that the fish have not been biting as of lately and that we may not see much. I told him we totally understand and that is why they call it fishing and not catching!! Captain Joe recommended that we start off with some reef fishing 20 miles offshore. He has a lot of resources, including his dad, who were out fishing that same morning and got a good feel of where the fish are via radio. As much as we would have loved to go get the deep-sea fish the reports were that they were not biting. We stayed on the reef and caught almost 20 fish!!! Most were barracuda and grouper which we were not able to keep but we did get 3 large Mutton Snappers and Yellow Jack fish which were all keepers. It was such a thrill, and you could feel the excitement from Captain Joe as his mission was to get us to catch fish! He found the spots and it was great!! He was a master when it came to driving the boat as well. He kept it so smooth for us even though there were decent swells at times. We are already wanting to plan another trip down there this summer just to go back out fishing with Captain Joe on the Jolly Roger II!!!

Both were so knowledgeable and it was clear they were both passionate about their research. The boat was eco friendly as were the reusable water bottles. Highly recommend. (This isn't a booze cruise. Unfortunately dolphins are speedy little devils and I didn't get a shot but I saw his with my own two eyes and that makes me happy. Mary and Jesse were great and made the trip lovely. They prepared a nice veg platter (not pictured) and a fruit platter after we snorkeled which was much needed. They also provide water. This was my first time snorkeling and I had a blast. I have a full face snorkel and man that made snorkeling much easier cause I could breath normally. They also have all the snorkel gear if you don't. We saw lot of beautiful sea life and corals thanks to the help of our guide Jesse who hopped in the water with us and pointed out all the cool fish. I swam right over a massive sting ray without realizing nearly had a heart attack lol. Best believe I prayed to the Steve Irwin gods to protect me lol (r.i.p Steve Irwin your a legend) they are very knowledgeable and care for what they do. At the end we were able to scan a QR code to see the pictures Jesse took off his go pro which he says he updates which is great. I had a wonderful birthday with you guys and I would recommend you yelpers out there give them a try.

The served drinks promptly and expeditiously upon boarding the sailboat. The band was lively and sounded great. We stayed on the top level of the boat and the crew walked around and refilled drinks which was so nice. We didn't have to walked down to the bar and could just enjoy the weather, the sailing and the view! Kudos to Captain Willie and his entire crew for being such a delightful group. They deserved all the tips!
