Captain Eddie, the owner/captain of the vessel is an incredibly accomplished sailor - everything on the trip ran like clockwork and there was plenty of time for stories, songs, good eating (Capt Eddie cooked all our meals), and recreation at the various stopping points. We stopped halfway and spent the night anchored just off the Marquesas and were able to use the motorized dinghy and SUPs to explore the island. The Dry Tortugas were a fascinating and beautiful destination, with lots of history. Gorgeous sunsets, dolphin sightings, and crystal clear, clean seas. We cannot say enough about the professional way the trip was planned and executed. You won't find a better captain - Eddie is a retired combat veteran and a huge Jimmy Buffet fan. The perfect combination to keep you safe and entertained! 5 stars!

Nick was super responsive during the planning stage and took our crazy asks in stride (he figured out what an "Aperol Spritz" was using YouTube and presented us with the best ones we've ever had, after the ring was accepted). We're divers and were happy that the snorkeling gear was top quality, food was good, winds fair and following seas. Boat was a 55' Beneteau with a broad beam so quite stable and roomy. Nick and his mate did a great job of making sure we got back to the dock in time for the surprise band and dancing. Among his many skills, Nick actually grabbed perfect pix of the proposal as it happened on the bow, despite being underway at the time. Impressive seamanship, bartending AND photography skills. I've used Steven and his team for multiple years for both personal trips and corporate events, and they deliver every single time. From the other captains to the first mates, everyone I've had the pleasure of meeting has been absolutely top-notch. They're professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, they genuinely care about making sure their customers have an incredible experience. Their fleet is also second to none. Without question, some of the cleanest and best-kept boats you'll find anywhere in Key West. For me, the biggest compliment I can give them is trust. I trust Steven and his team with my family, my customers, and my company executives. Whether we're heading offshore to fish, spending the day at the sandbar, or looking for another type of charter experience, they are always my first call when I'm in Key West. If you're looking for a charter in Key West, do yourself a favor and call Dream Catchers. Hands-down the best in Key West and beyond. I wouldn't use anyone else.

I have been fishing for many years and this was absolutely my worst charter experience ever. The…read moreowner confirmed over the phone the day before (twice) that we would go fishing in the back country instead of a mixed-location trip due to the wind. They said that we could choose the duration of the trip: 4/6/8 hours. Contrary to their claims later, they did not say anything about the fishing being challenging that day. We met the captain at the dock in the morning and he seemed a little checked out. He said that once he leaves the dock, he has to charge us at least 4 hours "whether we go for 4 hours or 5 minutes." It was a strange and confusing comment, so we asked him directly if we can fish that day. He said yes and that we can catch barracuda, possibly tarpon - there was no mention of fishing being challenging or anything along those lines. The captain pulled up a fully loaded bait trap and filled the live well with live bait. Yet, inexplicably, he did not use any of this live bait for the rest of our trip (except for 10 mins. at the first stop.) He gave us two lures with rusty hooks and had us cast these lures in each of the spots we went to for 4 hours. We caught nothing except a tiny snapper that was smaller than the live bait what was sitting unused on the boat. We kept waiting for the captain to put out the live bait during the whole trip, which did not happen. The captain seemed like he couldn't care less whether we caught any fish. We still tipped him since he did drive us around for 4 hours. We contacted the company right away and relayed our experience. They never gave an explanation as to why the live bait was not used and it took almost one week for the owner to get back to us by email. He refused to address any of the issues (including the question of why the live bait was not used) and falsely claimed that we were told that fishing was going to be challenging that day (we were not.) We were completely fooled by the positive online reviews and photos for this company. They did not communicate properly and they had us show up at the dock and get on their boat with a captain who had no interest in catching fish. They then became unresponsive, only to claim later that it was our fault for taking the charter despite their warnings (there were no warnings.) I hope that others will see this review and not make the same mistake that we did.

In fact, we just went a couple of weeks ago, my second time with her - after my first trip with you 21 years ago!! And it was way better than the first! She was recommended to me by my colleague who worked as the Environmental Horticulture agent in Monroe County, so he got around and knew folks. He was completely correct that Captain Vicki (as she was known then) was on top of her game. I went with two HS friends and it capped off a very memorable road trip. Fast forward to Sunday morning (July 10), when I'm wondering how in the world I'm going to figure out a snorkeling trip for my kid on our one day in Key West and we're up late (around 9:30 am). So of course, I check Yelp to figure out of all the brochures I have from the kiosks, which company do I have the best shot with. Imagine my surprise when I saw Dancing Dolphins. I REMEMBERED that aspect of her tour. So I took a chance, dropped her a message off her site - and not more than 5 minutes later, I had a phone call. Miracle of Miracles, she had the morning free. 45 minutes later, we met her First Mate, Erin, on the dock and away we went! We really didn't have an idea of what we wanted to do beyond snorkel, so Capt Vicki filled in the rest. She isn't kidding when she says that the Dolphins know her call sign. Three minutes after she put it out there, we had mother and baby come to say hello - we were very concerned when they were under the boat as we were moving. They didn't stay long, Vicki seemed to think they took a break from fishing, but it was way cool that they were so close to the boat. The snorkeling was marvelous! Thankfully, I had invested in a pair of prescription goggles, so I fulfilled a bucket list item to snorkel the reef and be able to see. I couldn't believe how many lobster were hiding. And to see this cobalt blue welk making a meal of one was just fascinating. There were the typical angel fish and wrasses, sea urchins and coral (though you could see how Florida's reefs have taken a beating). It was so way cool to see a 5 foot ray come whizzing by! Another special point for Erin and Vicki is that they work with people with mobility issues. So they had an idea of how to get Grandma (81 years young) into the water once she decided to go for it. Erin did an outstanding job of accompanying her so she wasn't afraid and felt secure. And Erin also provided all the pictures we would want, all included in the cost of the charter. We were out for four hours, the perfect time. We'll definitely be back. Count yourself lucky if you can score a charter with these gals. They work primarily on word of mouth, so like I said, don't let the small number of reviews fool you. They're the best kept secret in the lower Keys! Not everyone can afford a charter, but if you have four to six people, it's so worth it to book them as a charter for the personal touch.
