The waters were choppy and the prospect of chumming started to play out. When to our surprise captain Charlie saw our distress and pulled the wheel and rode the smooth waves. We didn't get to go out as far, but the ride was just as pleasurable. Take an adventure ride with Straycat. Have a great time. Definitely going back out next year.

Emerald Coast sailing is a lot more personal - you get the entire boat to yourself and can fit 2-6 people for a personalized excursion based on your interests and the local weather and atmosphere. It's a sailboat so be prepared for a different experience but for those who want something a bit unique and under the radar this is a great option in Destin. It's more expensive than the $25-30 per person you'll pay on most boats but then again you don't have those boats to yourself. Trust Captain Andy (and his very friendly and laid back dog Dixie) to show you an enjoyable couple hours on the water and you can find all the details online at www.ecoastsailing.com. We stayed aboard and the crew came in the morning to take us out for day excursions. Not only were they accommodating and professional, but they went above and beyond to make our trip incredibly fun. To start- Presley stocked the refrigerator and pantry for us so that we could spend our time enjoying the sun rather than at the grocery store! That included going to the liquor store too! SO NICE!!! She met us there for a boat tour and showed us how everything worked. They took photos for us and showed us all the cool spots to hang including a secluded island, a tree swing in the ocean and lighthouse with a beautiful reef. Snorkle gear was included and Captain Gary made us shrimp cocktail while we jumped off the top deck all afternoon! He also brought us fresh fish to grill up on one of the days and it was awesome! The boat had everything that we needed including bikes and kayaks (on dock) and the yacht club was very convenient! Theres a food mart, a pool, beach and restaurant with a killer Sunday breakfast spread! We already miss the crew and are planning a couple's trip in the near future!

The crew was phenomenal and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Gary and Presely met us when we arrived to show us around and make sure we knew how everything worked (boat toilets, amirite?). They had fully stocked the fridge for us, including wine, so we were able to go straight into vacation mode. We took the boat out for charters while on board, and had the best time. They took us to all of the cool, locals-only spots (including a shipwreck), and made sure we experienced the best of the area. Snorkel gear was included, and they guided us through the reef so that we knew where to look for the best fish! We had originally only planned to charter for one day, but had such a great time the first day that we asked if could go again the next day. Luckily for us, they were able to shift their schedules and accommodate us (yet another A+ moment they provided). We had the best time and enjoyed every single person we came across. I have a full face snorkel and man that made snorkeling much easier cause I could breath normally. They also have all the snorkel gear if you don't. We saw lot of beautiful sea life and corals thanks to the help of our guide Jesse who hopped in the water with us and pointed out all the cool fish. I swam right over a massive sting ray without realizing nearly had a heart attack lol. We caught 15 lobsters (7 of legal size -- we let the rest go) and had an amazing time. The dives were about 20-22 feet, but they were beautiful and there was a lot to see -- fish, coral, sea life. The boat was clean and comfortable from the bathroom to the small air conditioned kitchen area where you could seek respite from the heat. The large front desk was perfect for relaxing to and from our dive locations. Captain Ralph kindly explained the rules, regulations, etc. and we complied with everything he said. The crew were extremely capable with their dive knowledge and assisting us in getting geared up and getting our tanks refilled. They're flexible and amenable to whatever you're looking to do whether it be a regular dive, lobstering (in season, of course), going fishing, or staying on the boat as a B&B experience. We highly recommend YKnot as a great business, friendly people, and an all around excellent experience. Captain Ralph, you'll definitely see us again!!
