These guys are the best! It was my husbands first dive and they were like,…read more"Hey show up for the class and if you hate it and don't feel comfortable in the pool, no obligation!" And they allowed me to tag along and snorkel. David the dive master was super patient and kind. My husband was super comfortable following him on the dive and he loved his time at the reef. We of course had that "one know it all guy" on our dive but the crew was so patient and kind with him. Thanks to David for being an awesome teacher, the captain and crew for helping me out so I could snorkel and be part of the adventure. Thank you Leslie for answering all of our annoying questions and encouraging us to go. Wish we had more days in Key West, we would have gone again!

The entire crew from the front desk, to the deck, hands to the captain, are all amazing and make you feel safe. The crew here are seriously the BEST. even people that work here always dive with them on their day off that's how great these guys are! The boat is great, freshwater showers, and an upper deck seating area with great views. They even have a fresh water hose on board to rinse your gear off. Other Dive operations in Key West don't allow this. they want you to use their dunk tanks back on shore. Captains corner is also the most popular dive shop in Key West, which I like as a solo diver. It's easy to pair up with a buddy on board. This is important because in the Florida Keys most dive shops do not automatically give you a Dive guide in the water. You have to pay extra for a guide, so make sure you have a buddy! Also because they are more popular shop, they are less likely to cancel on you for having not enough people on board. Captains corner is more dependable with daily trips. My Favorite dive site is the Vandenberg shipwreck. It's an advanced dive 100 feet depth so they make sure only advanced divers with the proper experience can go for everyone's safety. If you aren't advanced, you can get your advanced certification through them, so you can do this Dive!

Wow, were we lucky to find Finz when our charter to the Dry Tortugas canceled 5 days before our…read morescheduled excursion! Luckily, Finz had availability - and gratefully, we had Captain Rob and Holly to steer us there! His communication was EXCELLENT with texts in advance to keep me informed and prepared. We took their 37' Park Shark, which comfortably sat us in a cabin with plentiful views. The ride was a bit rougher than a catamaran, but it took us from Key West to the Dry Tortugas where Holly acted as our private tour guide, sharing insights about its history while we enjoyed the migrating birds. Afterwards, we zipped into wet suits that they provided to snorkel around a sunken ship. I'd recommend bringing your own lunch, especially if you have a vegetarian or pescatarian diet, but they kindly provide plenty of snacks and ice water. Captain Rob and Holly made our trip one of our favorite family experiences. Here's a photo and video that Holly took from our snorkel adventure. I highly recommend Finz!

The crew was professional, friendly and attentive. We arrived at Fort Jefferson before the ferry, and enjoyed a private tour without the crowds. We visited two separate dive/snorkel sites (cool wrecks!) and lunch on the beach. Not cheap, but definitely the best way to visit the island from Key West, short of buying your own boat. Highly, highly recommend this company.

I got in the water and panicked. Kelly, our guide, expertly made sure I got back to the boat. Spencer, our dive master, helped me up and reassured me the whole time. I got to spend the next couple hours hanging out with Spencer and robin (the captain), which honestly, was a great time. What I loved is how committed they were to safety, and also making me feel valid in my decision to abort the dives. My partner successfully completed two dives and had a fantastic experience with Kelly guiding him. If/when we're back in key west again for diving, we will definitely book with Lost Reef again!!

Lost Reef Adventures...the worst dive shop that I have encountered in 30 years of scuba diving…read more The negatives: The owner, Nick, was extremely unfriendly to the point of being hostile. He had a serious attitude problem and had no idea what the concept of "customer service" meant. He just stares at you, waiting for you to say something...it's really creepy. After telling us to show up at 7:00 for the morning dives, no one from the shop bothered to show up until 7:45. The crew was only okay. The dive master acted like this was an annoyance to be taking us out on a dive...like he just wanted to get this over and done with. He just swam around for 45 minutes until it was time to re-board. The boat pilot told us, "We're not leaving the dock until you get your gear ready." There was one guy (with a mullet and ear rings) that was pretty cool and very helpful. The equipment was fair, but had some issues. The first tank that I hooked up to only had 1200 psi, turns out that 1/4 of the tanks onboard had previously been used and not removed or refilled. The fact that they all had the rubber covers on the valve (indicating a fresh tank) made it very confusing as to which tank to use. My dive buddy's regulator was inoperable. The dives were fair at best. I guess Key West really isn't that great for sea life when compared to the USVI or Belize, buy the dive master didn't even bother to point out sea life. EVERY dive I've been on in 30 years had a dive master that took pride in his/her job and did their best to point out - things to see - during the dive. I told the travel office on the base at Sigsbee not to recommend them. There are vastly superior shops like Southpoint Divers and Captain's Corner that will give you a much more pleasant experience. I dove with Southpoint on all of my subsequent dives in Key West. The positives: The boat was great - lotsa space for everyone, safety equipment was plentiful, and the safety briefing was well done. As I mentioned before, one of the crew (lives in Roatan, Honduras and was visiting his daughter) was very helpful but unfortunately, he was the exception. The BCDs, masks, and fins were fine. There's not really anything else positive that came out of my experiences. Do yourself a favor and use one of the other dive shops in Key West.

They are very knowledgeable with what they do and they will fight for you until your boat docks. We literally had about 20 minutes left on our charter, and as many other charters were skunking for the day, I decided that it was just my luck and went into the cabin and get some shuteyes. A little after, I heard a yell outside and the wife and I ran out. Something caught onto the line, something big. You can see for yourself in the pictures. This made a great 42nd birthday and a bucket list with a personal best fish. Thank you again Captain Ralph and Rich for the phenomenal experience. For those reading this review, you can't ask for a better crew. Call them and book as spaces run out fast!

Not only are these guys professional and experienced, but they're friendly and knowledgeable and willing to take you to their go-to places to locate lobsters in their hidey-holes. LOL! We caught 15 lobsters (7 of legal size -- we let the rest go) and had an amazing time. The dives were about 20-22 feet, but they were beautiful and there was a lot to see -- fish, coral, sea life. The boat was clean and comfortable from the bathroom to the small air conditioned kitchen area where you could seek respite from the heat. The large front desk was perfect for relaxing to and from our dive locations. Captain Ralph kindly explained the rules, regulations, etc. and we complied with everything he said. The crew were extremely capable with their dive knowledge and assisting us in getting geared up and getting our tanks refilled. They had their eye on us the whole time and we never felt unsafe at all. These guys are friendly, wonderful people offering a great service. They're flexible and amenable to whatever you're looking to do whether it be a regular dive, lobstering (in season, of course), going fishing, or staying on the boat as a B&B experience. We highly recommend YKnot as a great business, friendly people, and an all around excellent experience. Captain Ralph, you'll definitely see us again!!

Ticket guy Mark assured us pool noodles would help and water is calm and expert swimming is not required. Boat ride with Todd and Anne started fine, but snorkel time? Disaster. No help getting in the wavy water; instead, she snaps at my struggling wife: "Why do people who can't snorkel even try?" (I'd love to see her skydive after 10 mins of instructions!) Todd was meh, nice enough but obsessed with tips, yapping about it nonstop. Snorkeling itself was great, but these two don't belong in service. Avoid!
