Wow, were we lucky to find Finz when our charter to the Dry Tortugas canceled 5 days before our scheduled excursion! Luckily, Finz had availability - and gratefully, we had Captain Rob and Holly to steer us there! His communication was EXCELLENT with texts in advance to keep me informed and prepared. We took their 37' Park Shark, which comfortably sat us in a cabin with plentiful views. The ride was a bit rougher than a catamaran, but it took us from Key West to the Dry Tortugas where Holly acted as our private tour guide, sharing insights about its history while we enjoyed the migrating birds. Afterwards, we zipped into wet suits that they provided to snorkel around a sunken ship. I'd recommend bringing your own lunch, especially if you have a vegetarian or pescatarian diet, but they kindly provide plenty of snacks and ice water. Our party of 6 chartered the Finz Park Shark for a day trip to the Dry Tortugas, where we scuba dove (2 of us) and snorkeled, badly (4 of us). Everything was perfection. The crew was professional, friendly and attentive. We arrived at Fort Jefferson before the ferry, and enjoyed a private tour without the crowds. We visited two separate dive/snorkel sites (cool wrecks!) and lunch on the beach. Not cheap, but definitely the best way to visit the island from Key West, short of buying your own boat. Down again to dive with Finz once more, this time the experience was not up to our expectations and it centers around customer service not the dive itself, Captain Mark or Dive Master Holley, but in their support staff and policies. We requested 63's for my wife and they could only provide one tank even after asking for it in advance, she's comes up with more air than she goes down with . Second , we left our gear with them to be rinsed as it was an added service, we had to make two trips as they didn't find all the gear the first go round in spite of being asked to check the response was can you double check our own stuff. Lastly, Unfortunately we went diving 7/9 when it was brutally hot and I passed out from dehydration/exposure... of course not their fault for that. However when we called to cancel the dive 48 hrs asking for a refund due to medical concerns as recommended by the paramedics, they happily cancelled our dive but refused to refund our deposit. Four of us chartered with Finz to go out to Dry Tortugas National Park and had an *unforgettable* day. I'll be honest: the boat ride out and back is a bit noisy and windy. But what you get in return is fantastic: - Captain Kelly was our host for the day, with Mike captaining the boat. Kelly was also our guide, and because we went out early with them, we got a full tour of Fort Jefferson long before the ferry landed and the hordes descended. He walked us through an informative tour of the whole place and clearly knew lots of the history. - Then we had a bite of lunch (they provide sandwiches) and went snorkeling over toward Loggerhead Key. Kelly was our dive master (snorkel master?) and was both helpful and encouraging to those of us who hadn't snorkeled in 50 years (that's Sean). He took us to a cool shipwreck, and Captain Mike was knowledgeable enough to know that we had a fairly brief window before the current got stronger (he was right). - Then we motored over to Loggerhead Key (the ferry of course doesn't go there) where they let us off onto the beach. We walked up toward the lighthouse, I flew my kite (it's a thing we do when we hike), and then did some more snorkeling. Kelly found several sea creatures to point out to us, and even took videos of us underwater! Throughout the day, Captain Kelly reinforced numerous times: this is your day, we can do whatever you want, and he went out of his way to make sure we had a good time. I rented a full set of gear. The rental process and guys working on 3/20/22 were great, friendly, helpful and over all it was great experience. A five star experience. However when I returned my gear the following morning(3/21), I was met by a rude, condescending, impatient guy behind the desk who called himself Rob. He was the older of the two people working on the morning of 3/21. He really ruined my experience with this company. Rob, I don't know if you were having a bad day, but your negativity really rubbed off on me and started my morning out feeling pretty down. Truly could not have asked for a better experience! Finz is a top notch business and we love how they operate and treat their customers. We were desperately looking for a way for our family of 4 to get to the Dry Tortugas last minute as the ferry and seaplane were booked up. We called around and Hillbilly Hookers actually referred us to Finz and we are so thankful that he did! We called and immediately Finz was ready to try to make our dreams come true letting us know they were working on getting a crew together so we could take the trip. They called back shortly after and had landed a crew so we booked right then and got information about our charter. We paid half of the price right then through the phone and paid the rest on day of the excursion. On the day of the excursion they provided sandwiches, chips, water, ice, and granola bars for the day long charter. We were blessed with Captain Mike and dive master/1st mate Sydney who both we would highly recommend! Sydney was so excellent as a host, tour guide, and snorkel guide. She has so much experience and knowledge of the ocean and she made our Fort Jefferson tour extremely entertaining. Captain Mike did an excellent job controlling our boat the Freedom as the waves and wind were rough the day we went out, but he made sure to get us to Dry Tortugas and docked safely, then helped us get to the Windjammer shipwreck to snorkel, and got us safely onto Loggerhead Key for a nice beach stop. It was cool how they had us all in the back of the boat sitting on bean bags so we weren't being thrown all around the boat. This was by far the best day of our vacation. Finz and their staff truly highlighted our trip to the Keys and we will definitely be referring them to friends and family and making sure to use them in our future trips back to the keys. Sydney has us all inspired to work towards our dive certifications so we can come back and enjoy a different view of the keys with Finz! read more

I really appreciated my experience with Finz Dive Center. It had been a while since my last dive, and I was coming solo. I spoke with a friendly man from the shop over the phone about this and asked if there would be a dive master to be my dive buddy. They said that they could make this request happen. The dive charters only have six people go out at a time so it is a small group which is nice and allows for more attention to all the divers during set up of equipment and if there are any questions. Our dive master was Ashley and she was extremely helpful during equipment set up and by providing a relaxed and fun environment for diving! All the staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. I did a two tank dive both on reefs. Depth was about 25 feet max. The visibility was actually better than I was anticipating! I have gone diving in Turks and Mexico was has great visibility.. so I was pleasantly surprised by the visibility in the two reefs we went to. Beautiful coral reefs and fish! We saw a reef shark, eels, parrotfish, etc.. very beautiful. I felt comfortable the entire time. Since it is a small group we all stuck together and Ashley led us around in the sea. It was very fun. There was a big cooler with waters and ice on the boat for us. You are allowed to bring snacks as well. I believe our captain's name was Matt.. he was also great and friendly. Once we were all set up on the boat, we rolled out. My dive with Finz was just what I needed for a safe, fun time, and good refreshment of my diving skills! read more

We did the private tour to Dry Tortugas. 2 Dives & loggerhead lighthouse. Had the most amazing day. While diving we saw A reef shark, barracuda, giant grouper. Many other Beautiful tropical fish. My buddy and I recently did a combo dive with Finz, we had several delays due to weather which was completely out of their control. Once we actually got to go, we had a great crew from the boat Captain to the Dive Master. The first dive was to the Hoyt S Vandenberg wreck visibility was fantastic. Second dive was a reef drift dive, lots of stuff to see and the boat followed our marker so we didn't have to swim back, the boat came to use. Also I liked the smaller boat atmosphere, they only take a maximum of six divers which I enjoyed immensely. read more

A group of four of us on a trip to Key West decided to do a few dives while in the area. There was a 5th person on the trip, but she doesn't dive. Our group of 4 booked two afternoon dives (wreck/reef) and two night dives (reef) for the same day with Finz. From our initial contact, we found them to be professional and accommodating, which in my experience is rare in the scuba world. We did our first dives and had a great time! We asked if our friend could join on the night dives (there was going to be room on the boat) and they accommodated again. There was about an hour and a half break between the first dives and the night dives. We hit up Hurricane Hole (right below Finz) for dinner. The night dives were a blast! The first is a dusk dive and then back on the boat for an amazing sunset. Then back in the water for the night dive. It's amazing to see the ocean come alive at night. All the stuff you look for in holes and under rocks...they're cruising around at night. The diver master and boat captain were both amazing! The boat captain kept our non-diving 5th company during the dives and she had a great time as well. Overall, I highly recommend Finz and I will certainly dive with them again next time in Key West. read more

Ashley as a Dive Instructor was incredible!!! I can't thank her enough for her people skills in giving a dive refresher course and providing me with kind words of reassurance for someone that has not dived for ten (10) years. She called to confirm the dive. It was difficult enough to try to remember everything from a decade ago about SCUBA diving, and her refresher course made all the difference in the world. Ashley has incredible people skills in taking everything in stride in telling students what to do, but also knowing mistakes would be made despite her instructions. Student divers simply make mistakes because they are human and learning, and it was wonderful to have Ashley watching over us like an angel to keep us safe in the water. She met me at 6:30 a.m. (without a complaint) the morning before my dive to review the gear and in the water buoyancy. She added weights in the water to get me perfect bouyancy. She picked a perfect wet suit. This made a huge difference during the day of diving. When my mask fell off when entering the water because I did not hold it as she instructed upon entry, she dove down to get it, without a complaint about me not following her instruction. The mistake was obvious, and I learned from it. When returning to the boat and letting down my guard since I proudly finished the dive, she was watching by my side reminding me what to do next (Finns off, regulator in the mouth in case you fall back in the water, mask on, placing all body weight on the ladder to preclude the ladder from going up and down with waves). I can't thank Ashley enough for re-introducing me to diving, and reminding me of everything along the way in a positive and friendly way. During the dive, she also picked up beer cans, bottles, and plastic from the coral reef, and emphasized the importance of preserving the coral reef. She is a role model not only for other dive instructors, but also for all divers. If I could give her a six star review, I would. Everyone on the boat felt the same way. She is helping make the sport of diving safe and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you Ashley for your tutoring and people skills as a dive instructor!!!! This dive center was terrific!! Seriously, I did a pool refresher course (since it had been a few years since my last dive), two reef dives, and a night dive, and each interaction was 10/10. Ashley is a ROCKSTAR!! She made it the best experience through her personality, ocean education, and safety. Captain Kelly was also excellent and kept the boat rides to and fro the shop and dives site fun! We also had a trip with Mason and Captain Cole, who were both very nice. I will 1000% be back to this shop the next time I am in Key West. Again, a fun, safe, and personalized experience since the max amount of divers per boat is six! read more

Robert, Levi, and Phil took us out for an amazing trip. Great customer service, very professional, and overall an extremely enjoyable experience. Their boat fits a maximum of 6 divers so it is a very personal and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended, especially with their boat setup, since the other companies in the Keys take a big boat with tons of divers (think school bus full of divers) and the water gets crowded. OMG. How lucky was I to find this dive center!!! I was coming to Key West on a job and knew I had limited time and was a solo diver. Found this place, called and told them that I could only dive one morning on a specific day and that I wanted to do a wreck dive... Four days later, they called me in California to tell me they found someone and that the dive was on. To my big surprise, when I checked into the dive center, I found out that even though it was only two divers, they were going out to the wreck dive AND the owner of the shop was to be our dive master!!! To say the least, Rob (owner) and Captain Jerry (boat) were the BEST! Seriously! I have been blessed with dive adventures around the world and this was one of the best dive outfits-- and the dives themselves were impressive for the spot. It's not the cheapest on the island but like all things in life YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! It started with a polite, knowledgeable phone call. Then when I stopped by the next day to sign up for 2 dives and fill out my paperwork, the gentleman behind the counter couldn't have been more helpful and kind. The next day when I went for my dives it got even better! The boat is great, plenty of room, built very diver friendly. The Captain Mike and DiveMaster Nick did a great job taking us to 2 beautiful reefs where the "other" dive outfits do not travel. I wanted to catch a few lobsters, Nick was pointing them out along the way and even lent me a high powered dive light because mine was running low on battery. After the amazing dives they washed and dried all my gear and I came to pick it up the next day. Ill be back in a few weeks and I cannot wait to dive with them again!! read more

Find Dive Center is top notch! We went on a wreck dive in the morning and then we went on a night dive that evening. The next afternoon we went on reef dives. Austin, Robert and Mike were our dive masters. They were extremely knowledgeable and took great care to see that we had the best dive possible. One dive master went down with us to ensure our safety and to show us things that we would miss on our own. This was our first salt water dive and they made it the best. Finz was great to work with for planning our Key West dives. We had to reschedule our trip due to TS Alberto and they were very accommodating. Joe was our boat captain and Dillon was our Dive Master. Both did a great job and were very friendly! There were only 4 of us on the dive so the staging and restaging of our gear was handled very efficiently. The dives were really good. Dillon was very diligent with checking on everyone and making sure to point out lobsters, lionfish, eels, etc. In fact he even asked for my son's GoPro at one point and got a great shot of an eel for him!! The reef was beautiful and the dives perfect for us! The dive shop is well equipped and there is a great outdoor restaurant onsite where we had a nice lunch right out on the marina. We had such a terrific time with Chris and Mike! We came down with our family and were able to go out with just our group, which was a nice change from the boats full of people that we had experienced before. Since it was just us, we got to choose where to dive, and what we wanted to see. Our teenagers had just certified, and we felt so safe in the water with Chris. He and Mike had water bottles in a cooler on the boat, and even had bean bags on board to make our trip out to the reef that much more comfortable. Both Chris and Mike helped us set up our gear and made sure we were comfortable with our equipment. I would highly recommend them and will definitely request them when we come back! read more

We visit Key West every summer and with three boys (young men) we have 5 divers. Finz is the PERFECT company to take you on a dive if you want to not feel like cattle. Robert, Jenny and the whole Finz team are super friendly and professional. Having a "local" and a divemaster in the water is great. We are all AOW certified but then it's fun to have an expert with you. This trip we did 6 dives over two days and the boys all learned to spearfish - so we get to dive and then cook and eat some fish! There are lots of good dive charters in Key West and while we always have fun sometimes we had crowds, old equipment or poor visibility - While Finz can't control nature they sure know where to go to find the best conditions. We lucked out and had a private morning two tank dive, and then a small group dive in the afternoon. This is by far one of THE best diving centers we have experienced. We've been diving for years and their level of attention to fun, professionalism and the safety of the divers was above and beyond. Robert was our captain - SUPER cool guy (he's also a free diver and free dive instructor) and very professional, knowledgeable and safe, and Jenny was our dive master - couldn't love her more! We did 4 dives with them in one day and they left nothing to spare. On our second set of dives, there were two newbies with us, and since they were not able to stay down as long as us, Jenny was kind enough to see them safely to the boat and them come back down to meet us and continue for another 30+ minutes. They attend to every detail, even offering hair conditioner! Who does that? The small 'boutique' experience is not to be missed. Your every wish/question is answered. HANDS DOWN the best dive experience we've had to date! Called the morning of and got the last 2 spots. Lauren was pleasant and helpful when making the reservation. When we arrived Robert and Austin took all our gear to the boat unlike most places where you do it yourself. They take small groups out so you are able to truly enjoy the ride out to the site as well as your time under water. We never felt like we were on a timer and had to rush to get our gear on to get the most time in the water. Austin, our guide, made sure we were all comfortable and established neutral buoyancy before starting. Robert, the captain, took us to places which were not crowded with lots of other dive boats. Upon our return, they unloaded our gear, rinsed it off, and hung it to dry in case we wanted to eat or come back later to retrieve it. If we had been able to get reservations for the next day, we would've booked again for sure! Will DEFINITELY dive with them again and do the Dry Tortugas. Fantastic Dive Operation. We came in on a cruise and took a quick and easy Uber to the shop. The shop is right on the water so we were on the boat pretty quickly. The owner of the shop and the dive master were fantastic. They made us feel safe (it was our first time diving in two years) and were fun to be around. These guys made us midwesterners feel right at home, the majority of the diving we do is in sand pits so we are always nervous to go diving in the ocean because we don't get to practice a lot of the skills you use in the ocean but four of us went and loved every minute of our trip. Levi (captain) and Gabe (divemaster) took my sister and I out for a great half day of SCUBA. As we were the only two scheduled for the trip we basically got to plan our own day. On the way out of harbor Levi suggested we hit his personal favorite reef instead of heading out to Western Dry Rocks as originally planned. I was a little concerned we were getting the old bait-and-switch, but my concerns were needless - his spot had the most fish and the best water clarity of any of the spots we dove. The gear is of good quality, they are flexible and and work to make sure your experience is positive, they are attentive to safety, the rates are reasonable, and they're fun guys to dive with.
