In full disclosure, this is the only spin studio I've ever been to - but as a total newbie who has been super intimidated by spin for quite a while, this place was awesome! I signed up online, and when I showed up o told them I was a newb. The guy at the front desk told the instructor who came out to find me while I was getting my shoes on and she explained all the basics to me and helped me get my feet clipped in with total patience and a smile. Much thanks for that! I also overheard another person apparently signed up for the wrong class and they were super nice about letting her stay since we weren't full. Key things to know: Shoe rentals are free! Yay! And the pedals have cages of you prefer not to clip in. There are no lockers, you just leave your stuff on a shelf with everyone else, but that's okay because.... This place is small. There's only one class at a time and there's like, 50 bikes maybe in the room. You do not pick a bike when you sign up, they're first come first serve. Most of them reflect in a mirror, and a small handful by the door are not in front of a mirror. So if you are particular about your spot, arrive early! I was 10min early and the entire back row was already filled. They provide towels in case you forget one! It's on the 2nd floor of a building that isn't an obvious walk up. You'll see The Inventing Room, there's a door to the left I assumed went to apartments - nope. This will take you in the building so you can find the stairs to get to the second floor. Yeah- as I mentioned above, you have the inventing room right next door, plus two restaurants that smell downright delish when you're through killing your self on the bike. So be warned! read more

I have so many things I like about this place. The front desk staff goes out of their way to learn your name and know you. The instructors are ALL good. And the energy you feel in this space speaks volume to the community they have created. There is no place in Denver I'd rather spin! read more

I cannot say enough great things about High Ride! I had never done spin before, found them on class pass and decided to give them a try. Best decision I could have made and my class pass experimenting ended real quick. I'm totally hooked now and actually look forward to getting out of work and hopping on a bike. The classes are so much fun you forget you're working out and in that brief moment of 'man this is hard' all the instructors are right there reminding you how strong and amazing you are. The encouraging community that you get at High Ride is not something you can find everywhere and I'm so happy I was able to find it. In addition to the awesome classes you get a gorgeous studio and the friendliest staff who really get to know you. I thought their first studio was great but this one is gorgeous and has every amenity you could want. My only complaint is it's proximity to Chick-fil-a causing me to have to exude a lot of control when I work my butt off and am hungry :) No other spin place in Denver will compare to High Ride so sign up and get on a bike, you won't regret it! read more

I have been taking cycling classes for the better part of 15 years in several states and dozens of studios. High Ride is definitely at the top of the list! After a year and a half as a ClassPass member, I finally found the best cycling studio in Denver. I have tried at least 8 different cycling studios at this point and High Ride is the only one I want to go back to. I've also tried countless other barre, yoga, Pilates, lagree, hiit studios and this place wins. I've been searching for an activity that gives me a full body workout and a place to do it. It's about time I made the switch to High Ride and ditched my ClassPass. Okay now all the reasons why this place is great. Equipment - the bikes are so easy to adjust! They provide clip in shoes at no extra charge. Staff/owners - Megan and Danielle's class are my two favorites, but everyone here will challenge you. The owners care about the studio and it's riders which is evident by how packed this place is. My first ride here was the balcony sound off ride (aka awesome ride on a balcony during sunset) and they helped me adjust headphones and bike. Other riders - people are friendly and the place is not pretentious. The music - the ride playlist for every class I've been to is well put together which is important if you love music as much as I do and the instructors know the playlist well. Again, Danielle's playlists are my fav. Other things - the studio is dark and bikes all face the same way except the instructor obviously. Worth noting because there's nothing more awkward then facing perpendicular to people while riding in my opinion. There are no ridiculous scoreboards and nobody yelling at you. This is not a cult cycle place and that's why it's legit. read more

This is such an amazing studio! Every instructor is so fun and encourages everyone to move at their own pace. I especially recommend the hip hop classes or a themed class! They have plenty of time slots before and after work which is very convenient for someone who doesn't have a flexible work schedule. Also, the high ride phone app is really easy to navigate which I haven't experienced with other studios. Overall, highly, highly recommend and their new rider special is unbeatable!!! read more

Such a fun cycling studio, I don't even think I realized I was getting such a good workout! Intensity :: 4/5 The intensity is what you make it here, & I like that. The instructors include arm and ab exercises too, so you're really working everything. Sweaty :: 4/5 If you're working hard, you will get sweaty! Shower/Locker Room Sitch :: 3.5/5 I LOVE that they have everything you could need to get ready before work or a date. Not just a shower but a blowdryer, dry shampoo, cotton pads...But their were only two, so you'll have to beeline it there before anyone else! Atmosphere :: 5/5 The ascetic at High Ride is gorgeous! You get cycling shoes that make it easier to ride, and the instructors were beyond friendly and welcoming. Fun :: 5/5 It doesn't feel like a workout, it feels more like a club without alcohol or people getting too close to you. THIS PLACE ROCKS After 18 too many times of being frustrated and annoyed with how CycleBar runs their business, I started looking around to see if there were any other options. Thanks to Yelp I found High Ride. First, your first ride is $15, but you actually get three rides for that. That is so unheard of in Denver. What's nice about it is that you're given the change to actually feel the studio out in those three classes (but duh you'll love it). After your first three rides, there are some other deals they offer to keep you going. The instructors are LIT. I'm from the south and Danielle's classes satisfy my ratchet rap needs. I love her and hope she does a booty themed class all the time. Everyone at this studio is so nice and the prices are reasonable. If something goes awry just send them an email and they'll happily fix you on up. GO HERE ps. the studio is upstairs above growler USA. This was very confusing to me the first time I went. read more

Absolutely nothing compares to High Ride! The classes are challenging, but fun and modifiable based on what you feel comfortable doing that day. You ride to the beat of the music and get to add in some fun dance moves (if you want!). I love that there is NO competition in classes (no screens with stats etc.) and they really focus on how you feel in your body. And that's just the workout- the community is really where HRC shines. They go above and beyond to make every rider feel accepted and SEEN and welcome. The instructors and staff make an effort to know you by name and go out of their way to make you feel at home. I can't even count the number of times I've been having a rough day and after a class, the instructor takes the time to say "I'm so glad you were here today!" which is what I needed to hear in that moment. Other riders are super friendly as well. :) I will always rave about HRC. I'm so happy to see how HRC has grown in the last 4 years I've been part of the community! read more

This is such a cool place. Definitely a nice addition to Denver's cycling scene! I went to the grand opening and took a class with Jenna Switzer. She was super upbeat and had a great playlist. What I loved about the class was there didn't seem to be "breaks" between songs and because of this, I burned a really high number of calories. Actually, more than I ever have before in a cycling class. I use a Polar FT4 heart rate monitor and I typically burn around 385-400 calories in similar cycling classes. For this class I burned 530! I think a lot of that has to do with there being no breaks between songs. I also felt like we spent a bit more time using the dumbbells than I have at other cycling studios. Which I enjoy since it means a more well rounded workout. I know some other popular cycling studios use a lot more "technology". Like CycleBar has their stats monitor showing reps/power/etc. I think that information is useful and can motivate you but it's sometimes nice to ride based on how your body feels rather than what your stats are showing you. So if you enjoy that, High Ride does not have a stats monitor. Important side note- parking was super easy. There was a parking lot for the building that the studio is in. So it was easy to find a spot. (at least I think it was for that building? I didn't get towed so that's a plus!) I'm really excited to come back and try out the other teachers. I'm also excited to come ride when they have the garage wall opened up. (one of the classroom walls opens to a second floor balcony). Overall, this was an awesome workout and they have a ton of class times available so it can work with anyone's schedule. It's also in a super cool area making cycling + brunch a very doable thing on the weekend! read more

Like others, I cannot say enough good things about High Ride. I've been going for over a year now, and it continually is an amazing place for an awesome cycle/spin workout. For me, these were the differentiators that helped me pick this studio: 1) No shoe rental fee 2) Reasonable cancel time. They realize that life happens, and being able to cancel hours ahead of time instead of 24hrs+ is a huge benefit to me. 3) Locally owned, and owned by an instructor. It's not a nameless corporation behind it - the owners are almost always in studio and make sure things are going well. 4) Encouraging environment that welcomes everyone. 5) Not an endlessly rotating list of instructors. You get to know the unique music/style of each. 6) Music and studio events that keep things fresh month after month. 7) Reasonable class payment options. From class packs, to unlimited, there are a lot of options that are cheaper than most other studios I've seen. read more

It will push you to your limit and have you leave dripping sweat in the best way possible, but my favorite part is the pure sense of community you get at HR. Every single instructor brings something different to the table but makes you feel so included and supported. Beat based class, so you're dancing to the music and I love that you can reserve your bike number now with the new app. They also provide shoes so you can clip into the bike and have awesome locker rooms/showers so you can freshen up (or take selfies in the inspirational mirrors). I leave feeling inspired and accomplished from every instructor no matter the time of day. They show up for that class and give it their all. Lots of good to mention. Free and plentiful parking outside. The facility is new and nice, the bikes are top notch and they offer shoes for rent. The class is great. The spin they offer is more of the cardio-based really fast, New York style spin where the music is carefully chosen and everyone is literally moving in sync like back up dancers for some pop star. This makes it a lot of fun. The instructor was top notch. They have weights at the back of the bikes which are tiny and at first impression, I thought were comically small. However, I quickly realized why they were so small. The amount of time you spend with your arms out and up will make it burn. No big weights needed. Here's why this place doesn't get 5 stars. It seems like the bathroom was a huge logistical oversight. It is single occupancy toilet and shower. So you're screwed if you arrive to class and someone is using the shower from the previous class and you have to go to the bathroom bad. Be ready to hold it in for the next 60 minutes while trying to ride. You're screwed if there is more than one person needing to shower and you have to get ready quickly to make it to work. You essentially have to sit in the lobby and wait for the previous person to shower, get dressed, etc. leave, then it's your turn to shower. It seems like there was enough room to compartmentalize the toilet into it's own space so you wouldn't run into this situation. Also speaking from a man's perspective. I have no idea what the women's bathroom looked like. If you can remember to use the bathroom before you go and not need to shower there, then you're good. read more

Having traveled from work, I have experienced my fair share of spin studios and instructors. I know what I like when it comes to intensity, atmosphere, music and instructor hype. I've taken spin classes in Portland, Maine, Boston, Austin, Nashville and now Denver. High Ride tops the list. High ride is the entire package - friendly service at the front desk, moviating instructors, themed classes and excellent music selection. High ride recently moved to a new location in the Edgewater Target plaza. This new space is beautiful! There are more bikes, lockers and more room in the lobby for pre- and post- class socializing. I tried really hard to not write a novel, but that obviously didn't work out... Let's start by saying that one word comes to mind when people ask me about my cycle gym. The magical word is COMMUNITY. If you are ready to be drenched in sweat, make new friends, work out in a beautifully modern space and push yourself to higher limits than you thought possible, then this is your spot. Megan and Scott are the driving forces behind this fantastic establishment and you will see either of their faces on a daily basis if they are not instructing or working out right next to you. You will notice how much of themselves they pour into their business each and every day because, frankly you just can't hide being genuine. Here is a little background on why I believe that the spin gods lead me to my home away from home. I have now been living in Denver for about 4 months. However, when I moved to this lovely city from the Bay Area not knowing anyone or even having a workout routine, I knew I needed somewhere to belong . After trying a few studios via Classpass, I came across Hi Ride. I was a bit intimated since I wasn't a seasoned rider and the elevation is such a killer if you are coming from seal level. Essentially, I did not want to look like I was dying on the bike! Right when I walked in I met Megan and Rachel, both had the biggest smiles on their faces. They sized me perfectly with complimentary bike shoes (yes! that's right, they don't charge you to rent their shoes)! Megan then took it upon herself to ask me my name right away, asked me if I had ridden before and if I needed help setting up my bike to fit my body and comfort level. Obviously, I took her up on it! To nobody's surprise, after the first class I was hooked. I think I went to about 2 more classes before signing up for the monthly unlimited membership. I had no idea that this would be the space I would need to come to after a long stressful day at work or an early Saturday morning to sweat out Friday nights bad decisions. One of the biggest things I can recommend to you new riders who are looking to try something new is to give each of the instructors a whirl. They all have their own flavor and killer playlists that will NEVER disappoint.
