Their selection of equipment, while not perfect, was pretty good - they have a few barbells and squat racks, rowers, dumbbells, and a ton of machines. The gym was fairly crowded when I was there, so I did have to share and wait for equipment a few times, keep that in mind if you prefer not to share. There's a small outdoor section if you want to work out outdoors. All in all, a great drop-in option in Downtown Denver!

Great gym with tons of lifting and functional equipment…read more I'm here in town temporarily and couldn't find a lot of options for a full fledged gym that wasn't themed in some way or a training/class gym. Also options opening before 6 am are slim downtown and this has 24 hr keycard access. This is small but has almost everything I need. It's actually amazing that they've managed to fit somewhere around 6 to 8 squat racks in this space. Every inch is utilized super well and it also doesn't feel cramped, there's still spacious indoor turf area, studio and outdoor turf for functional training. Only thing missing for ladies is an abduction machine and a glute drive/hip thruster. You can obviously hip thrust with a box/barbell set up, but I frequently am crunched on time and a glue drive machine really cuts down on set up. Clean equipment and clean facilities, towel service.

I walked in having not lifted heavy since highschool and thanks to amazing coaching (call out to coach Sav) I'm finally hitting PRs I never thought I would. I would like to report an unsafe and uncomfortable situation that occurred on 8/31…read more My close friend of 30 years has been attending the gym with me for several weeks. She is new to fitness, so we have been working out together as friends. Two men approached us on the gym floor and asked if I was a trainer. My friend was at the cable machine while I stood next to her with my laptop for work. They did not introduce themselves, so we did not know who they were or why they were questioning us. I clearly explained that she is my longtime friend, that we work out together, and that I am not a trainer or training her. I later learned the men were co-owners, Sam and Chris. Chris became extremely aggressive when he seemed dissatisfied with my answer. I made a flippant remark that he could see a photo of us as children because I was trying to convey that we have known each other for decades and she is not my client. Feeling threatened, I said, "This is a bit much, you guys." Chris responded, "You come into MY gym and say I am a bit much!" I was still unaware he was an owner and assumed he was a trainer. He then told Sam, "You deal with this!" and stormed away. Sam explained that they were co-owners. I understand gym policies regarding outside training and have no issue being asked about them. I repeatedly explained that I am not training anyone. However, once I answered, I should not have been verbally berated or aggressively confronted. I had been an RMFF member for over a year and a half; my partner was a member, and I have regularly recommended this gym. Until this incident, I had only positive experiences with the staff. I genuinely felt unsafe during my interaction with Chris and would not feel comfortable being around him again, as he verbally berates women in public. To make matters worse, after I emailed the gym that same day expressing my concerns, I received no apology or explanation - only a response stating that my membership had been terminated.

This gym saved my life, frankly…read more I was pre-diabetic, overweight, stressed out, exhausted -- and I hated going to the gym. I tried workout apps, weight training notebooks, every website and guide and book to try to train myself into some sort of motivation... I would manage to have some discipline for a week, max -- and then I'd skip a day, and then a few days, and then it had been months. Then my partner found The Fitness Branch. He loved it, immediately. "It's kettlebells, you'll love it, I promise." I was skeptical -- but he signed me up for a few private sessions to get the hang of it and man, I haven't looked back. That first session with Leandra changed my life. She was the very first person to truly understand and care about my fitness needs, and offer a steady and sustainable journey towards my goals. Getting stronger physically has helped my brain get stronger, and that's worth the whole endeavor -- but it's also incredibly satisfying to lay on the gym floor in a puddle of your own sweat after working really hard and having a great time while doing it. Leandra also has a background in PT -- so whenever aches and pains appear from your daily life, she always has a stretch or seven to help set you right. She understands the physiology of the kettlebell movement to the point where she can adapt an entire workout on the fly to fit your specific needs, especially if you have an injury or a flare-up. It's hard to fully express my gratitude for this place -- but perhaps the best way to share how I feel is to urge you to come by and try it out. You'll love it, I promise.
