RAC is a great neighborhood gym. Many people involved with personal fitness would tell you that one of the most important things about a gym is that you actually enjoy the facility that you use for your workouts. If you don't, it makes it much easier to make excuses not to go and veer off course. RAC is one of those facilities that you actually really enjoy working out in. First off, I can't say enough about the staff here. Everyone is really friendly and Garrett runs a great facility. You get a real sense that people enjoy working here and the trainers truly care about educating their clients and making them passionate about fitness.
The equipment is all top of the line. Cybex in the weight room and treadmills with individual TVs. I absolutely hate running indoors, but the TVs at RAC made the experience so much more tolerable when the conditions outside mandated it. News, sports, movies-it's all there for you to watch and change at your convenience. The cross-country and cycling options were also incredible.
The weight room here is outstanding. Due to the condensed size, you may originally look at it and think that it has to be awful when it gets congested. After four years of working out at RAC, the weight room was overly congested a handful of times. Literally. Most days there were two or three other people in there, and there were a lot of nights when I had the entire weight room area to myself. Once the workout is over, there is a nice and always very clean bathroom just off the weight room.
Overall, RAC is a five star facility across the board. This is by far the nicest, least congested and cleanest gym I have ever worked out in. There is one, and only one, reason why I can't give this place five stars: the price. If you live in the Glass House, you are already paying obscene HOA fees, so you should be utilizing this gym as much as possible. I lived a block away from RAC and bit the bullet on the really high prices for convenience. The overall experience trumped the high prices, so I would definitely recommend RAC to anyone who is passionate about fitness. read more
